3. Why am I still stuck with 100 reads?

Reads. One of the things that inspires an author to continue writing.

Reasons:

1. You don't have many followers: It's true if you don't have many followers, chances are, that your book will remain with fewer reads. So the more your followers, the more your reads. Of course, I know authors with 300-400 followers have 41k reads on their book, but that's plain talent/luck.

2. You don't reply to comments: Basic rule, you don't reply to comments, readers will feel ignored and will stop reading your book. Sure, if you receive hundreds of comments every day, this doesn't apply to you. But for most authors, replying to comments is necessary. Don't have to reply to all of them, but for the occasional compliment, a 'thank you!' makes the reader feel noticed.

3. You aren't improving: Trust me, I've participated in more than two hundred awards and judges do give feedback. You have to listen to their advice and edit your work regularly. Readers don't like reading a book with hundreds of grammatical errors. I'm not saying that you have to be perfect, but try to improve your work.

Solutions:

1. Write often: By writing often, you keep your readers with you. Regular updates mean more and more readers checking your books. Regular updates also mean getting better and better at writing.

2. Join awards: Not compulsory, but awards increase your readers base. I gained so many readers by winning awards, and you would too. By joining awards, judges will read your books which will increase the number of reads.

3. Get a nice book cover: Book covers are extremely important. They're your first impression on the reader. So keep something that is interesting and attractive. There are thousands of book cover makers on Wattpad! Some of my friends make awesome book covers, like:

4. Improve your writing style: You should focus on the way you write. If you're writing in the past tense, write the whole story in the past tense. If you're using one type of POV* write the whole story that way.

Remember, reads increase gradually, you can't speed it up.
