Prologue
"More than a hundred years ago there was a village in which dragons were worshipped as gods. For in those times dragons offered the villagers food and warmth. They lived in peace until four beautiful girls were born. Ever since their birth sickness plagued the village. Crops didn't grow as good as before. Their water supplies poisoned and all of the fish in the sea and lakes died. Dragons didn't help either. They would attack the village once in a while bringing only destruction and death. The four girls grew up to be hated by others. The villagers called them witches for they had some special powers.
The oldest sister possessed power over water and the sea creatures. Her name was Aqua. Long dark blue hair like deep oceans, white skin, bright blue eyes and a beautiful frame. The villagers blamed her for their water problems.
The second sister was Terra. She had power over earth. Short black hair like ashes of a volcano, golden eyes like sands, tan skin and she looked a little muscular. The villagers believed the reason for the ground under their feet being unstable was her.
The third sister was Viva. She had power over weather and wind. Long white hair like snow, rosy pale skin, grey colored eyes like storm clouds and a thin body. The villagers believed the reason they didn't have rain for ten years was her.
The youngest of all the four was Flora. She had power over nature. She could talk with dragons and understand them. Long dark brown hair, green eyes like endless grass hills, light skin and she had a perfect body, curvy and beautiful. They believed the reason for their animals' sickness and their crops not growing so well was her.
For eighteen years the village had bad luck and they believed it was the four sisters. So the three older ones decided to take revenge on the villages by awakening a beast from far across the sea. They say the sister's voice was charmed and they sing it would lure anyone toward them. The three sisters sang for three days and it was a frightful song. After three days the beast came. It is said the beast was even larger than a Bewilderbeast. However, it destroyed the village and killed people not leaving a single person alive
After their revenge, the three sisters sang another song to the beast and it fell asleep on the ashes of the village.
Along with the youngest sister, who felt bad about what has happened, they traveled to an icy mountain and fell asleep until today..."
"Mom, you're gonna scare the kids."
"What? No, Hiccup..." Valka sighed. "You ruined the moment son!"
"Sorry but witches and magic it's kinda... you know, old." Hiccup smiled awkwardly as he mounted Toothless. Valka stared for moment. "Aren't going to enter the race? Your father wanted you to..."
"I know what he wants mom and I just can't sit still and not explore." He paused and looked at his mother. "I need a break. It's been a month we've been cleaning Drago's mess and I need my own time to spend. Right?"
"Alright then, go but be back before midnight. I worry." Valka smiled gently.
"Thanks." Hiccup took off on his Nightfury.
"Um... Valka..." A kid called. Valka completely forgot about the five children sitting around to hear stories. "Sorry but that's it for today." She got up and went straight home. The children sighed but left.
Valka opened the door to enter the house. "You're up early." She saw Stoick sitting by the fire, staring at it. Gothi told Stoick the more he rests the better but knowing him he wouldn't' listen. "Where's Hiccup?" Stoick sounded annoyed. "I thought I was clear when I said 'I want you to race.'!"
"Give him some space Stoick. What could happen?"
It has been a month since Hiccup felt the touch of wind on his face. He felt relived of all that stress and hard work. Right now all he wanted was peace and quiet .
"Hiccup!" Fishlegs called him. Hiccup slowed down for him to catch up with Meatlug.
"Fishlegs, didn't you want to race?" Hiccup asked a little surprised.
"No, I wanted to but Meatlug's leg is wounded." Fishlegs pointed at Meatlug's leg which was wrapped in bandages. "So I decided to company you."
"Yep that would be nice." Hiccup smiled, happy to see someone was not scolding him for breaking up with Astrid. One of the reasons for breaking up with her was she was over reacting to him being the acting chief while his dad was healing. She would go on talking about that he was a chief and no more flying with Toothless. All he could do was draw and when he wanted to Astrid would come to his room without permission. She would start seducing him and that was something he couldn't take it. He wasn't in the mood and he would tell her to leave it for another time she would stomp away. When Hiccup would wanted to spend time with her she didn't. She would push him away and tell him 'You changed Hiccup!'. Once he saw her talking to his dad and it ended up they fighting over nothing. Snotlout, Fishlegs, Eret and Valka took his side. The twins, his dad, Gothi and the elders of Berk took her side.
Hiccup jumped out of his thoughts when Toothless made a sudden dive following Meatlug. "TOOTHLESS!" He shouted. Hopefully the landing was ok. They landed on a side of a cliff. Looking down there was a beach and a couple of ships with... "Hiccup those are Drago's ships." Fishlegs whimpered. He looked terrified. "What do we do?!"
"AAAAAHHHH..." A girlish high pitched scream made Hiccup to look down from the cliff to where a young girl stood being grabbed by two of Drago's men while eight other stood guard. A young man approached her accompanied by four men. He had long black back length hair in a pony tail. He looked tall and wore black leather armor like, fur boots, tight black pants. From one side he had a piece of a black dragon skin flowing down his arm. On his other arm he had a long metallic brace with a blade on it. Due to him and the struggling young girl who was trying to get free yelling at one another they could hear the entire conversation.
"Let me go you freak!" The girl shouted. "I had enough of your lies."
"Where will you go? You have no one!" The man shouted back.
"Anywhere but where you are." She hissed. "You and your vile father are nothing but monsters!"
He slapped her across her face and grabbed her hair pulling it back. "I dare you to call my father a monster again and see what happens." And he pushes her on the ground.
"We have to go back and get help. Hiccup?" Fishlegs said.
"No time for that. We save her now." Hiccup mounted on Toothless. "I'll take the leader and his men." Fishlegs mounted Meatlug and followed Hiccup. The men had a tight formation so one lava blast from Meatlug and they were scattered all around the beach. Toothless fired four plasma blasts and knocked out the four next to the leader.
The remaining guys were surprised thus were distracted from the girl. She used this opportunity to run away. "Hey..." A guy grabbed her arm. "And where do you think you're going?"
Meatlug hit the guy with her mace like tail, sent him flying. "Hiccup Haddock eh?" It was the leader who called to Hiccup. "Pleasure meeting you eventually."
"And who do I have the pleasure of meeting?" Said Hiccup with sarcasm.
"I am Lucas the Slayer. Son of Drago Bludvist." Lucas gave a small bow. "I might actually let you get away but you don't know what you are doing."
"Hiccup! Reinforcements are coming." Fishlegs yelled. He was already in air. Hiccup didn't waste another moment as he rushed toward the girl, telling her to get on. She seemed to have doubts but anywhere is better than here. She got on Toothless as he took off.
"We'll meet again Hiccup!" Lucas said.
"Sir what about your father?" One of the men asked.
"Simple! She drowned."
Drago had a son and Hiccup just found out. How come they just met him? He wasn't around when Drago attacked dragon's sanctuary or Berk. He was distracted from his thoughts when he heard the girl groaning.
"Hiccup, she is wounded." Fishlegs was concerned.
Hiccup turned to look at the girl. Her hand cover side. She was bleeding badly. "It's ok we're almost there just hang on." Hiccup reassured her. "So what is your name? What did that guy want with you?"
"My name is Flora and... dragon knowledge is all he wants." She groaned. "Thank you for saving me."
"Hang on tight." The conversation ended when Hiccup saw Berk and sped up.
"...and he just pushed me! He never pushes me!" This was Astrid being over dramatic. "Hiccup has changed."
"Maybe it's because of you demands Astrid." Snotlout chuckled. It has become a habit of him making fun of Astrid overreactions over nothing.
"Shut up Snothat!" Astrid sighed. "Valka please talk to him."
So here we have Valka checking Barf and Belch to see why they haven't been eating well while twins were 'grieving' for Astrid. Snotlout companied the twins because they wanted him to come for a reason.
Just when Valka was about to answer Astrid a Nightfury roar echoed through the space. Everyone's attention turned to where Hiccup and Fishlegs landed.
"Mom! She needs help." Hiccup called over to Valka as he helped Flora get off from Toothless. Valka rushed over to see what has happened. "Oh my... Fishlegs go get Gothi." She paused to see how bad the wound was. "Come now I'll take her to my house." Valka helped Flora to walk her to her house. Yes, she had her own house because she wanted to have some privacy time for herself. Toothless walked a few steps a head so that if Flora fell he could catch her.
"Hiccup," Astrid approached Hiccup as she crossed her arms across her chest. "Who is she?" She didn't ask. She demanded.
"We saved her from a bunch of Drago's hunters. Satisfied?" Hiccup said plainly.
Astrid stayed quiet, taken back from what Hiccup said.
It wasn't long before Gothi came. She and Valka attended to Flora and after that, Flora slept peacefully in Valka's bed. Hiccup came to see how she was. Seeing that she was in good hands and that she was resting he left for the night.
Finally everything settled down and Valka had a chance to take a look at who Hiccup saved. A young girl with straight dark brown hair, light skin and a body as if the best sculptors gathered around to make it. She was the real definition of beauty. Suddenly Valka froze. She realized that the description of Flora the Enchantress matched the very same girl lying in her bed but the story was a mere legend. It might have been an accident that they both had the same name and appearance, right?
