Dragon has chosen you pt.5
Gobber's crying doesn't stop, the dragons around him feeling worse and worse, could a human be so attached to one not of his blood? They had always had a link to a human, and they cared for them... Wait, what is that scent?
It's... a Nightfury... a Nightfury hybrid?!?
It can't be!
Gobber goes quiet at the familiar scent.
"Hiccup?"
His whisper echoes round the dark cage. He goes to the door and listens close, the voices outside arguing about what to do. He hears a whimper from his son and growls, he scratches the door as the arguing begins again, they want to make him their servant because of his hybrid species. He starts ramming into the cage door, the group nearby going silent as the door is dented in with the first hit from his shoulder. Gobber takes 2 hits to burst out the cage.
His burning anger fuelling his adrenaline rush. He roars loudly as and decks Stoik into the ground, his eyes white with rage.
The fire spewing out his mouth burning away the man's beard. Stoik struggles to fight him off even with being the strongest in the village. Gobber starts attacking other villagers to attempt to pull him off of their chief.
Hiccup watches through the crowd of people keeping him down, unable to talk due to the rope in his mouth, tears stream down his face as he struggles to get free.
Gobber gets through the crowd and grabs Hiccup to take off. He takes off into the sky as Hiccup curls into his body, shaking and terrified of what has just happened. No one tries to follow them as they take care of the injured.
The cages damaged in the fight bursting open as the dragons pour out to follow and protect the two hybrids they vow to look after. The sunlight unseen under the wave of dragons leaving the island. Gobber lands on the back of one of the larger dragons and tries to relax, still shaking. The miniature dragons freeing Hiccup from the ropes holding him still.
Hiccup hugs Gobber tightly, scared for his life, not wanting to lose Gobber again.
He never wants to return to the island.
He knows they never can. And the village can suffer without them, no one else likes to do blacksmithing so they have no resources.

Both hybrids end up falling asleep as night falls, the icy nest the dragons travelled to casting a long dark shadow in the moon light. Hiccup's mother is panicked at seeing them and gets him to her "home" so she can treat their wounds.
