The gang and Gobber had still a whole week before they will be heading back, much to Hiccup's dismay. He didn't want to spend so much time with Astrid around.

He stayed away from the camping place, much to Gobber's confusion. Hiccup had left the morning, after the shock, excusing himself. He said he needed some time, but Gobber knew something was wrong.

Astrid was smirking when Hiccup left, and Gobber knew that Astrid had something to do with Hiccup excusing himself, but was too confused when the other teens glare at her when she was around them.

It was like, Hiccup had most of the teens by his side now and Astrid was planning something evil. Gobber had to shake his head because his imagination was going too far. Something big is going to happen though. Gobber had a feeling in his gut saying that.

On the other hand, Astrid was proud of Hiccup's anger. She wanted him to leave so he could give her some time with her ex-friends and have them back to her side again. But the plan went to the dustbin when the others glared at her, giving her enough information that it's no use.

Hiccup had stayed in the forest the whole day along with Toothless and the other dragons besides Stormfly. She also was mad at toothless for being the future alpha. She wasn't allowed to be near the other dragons, much to her dismay.

When he returned, Astrid went to him but before she could even open her mouth, Hiccup glared so intensely, that no word left her mouth as he went to sleep. But when he was passing Astrid, she tripped him, resulting as Hiccup's eyes were electric green, with black slits!

No way! That is why Hiccup never met anyone's eyes today! His eyes are like the slits of a dragon! Now Astrid was really scared. She was paralyzed by fear, but still managed to say one word before running away and that word was "Hiccup?"

Hiccup was confused. Once he heard his name he looked up to see a blonde girl running away yelling for help. His ears hurt because of her high voice, and his body somehow felt strange.

Suddenly, his body move toward the running girl by half leaping and half running? He felt his teeth bear and him punching something before he opens his mouth while gathered air in his mouth? Soon he understood what was happening.

He was going to shoot a ball of plasma blast and he was going to kill Astrid. He pushed himself mentally back into control and soon got a grip of himself as he swallowed the blast and instead bit her leg so hard, he reached her bones in only that one bite.

He tried to get away but stumbled on his wings as he fell face first into the dirt right beside the blonde girl. She fell unconscious as Hiccup desperately tried to control his wings and tail in an attempt of flying as he leaped, but it only ended as a leap and head in the dirt again.

Toothless had heard the desperate cry of help and the screeching of another Night Fury. He flew off toward the sound to see a Night fury on the ground desperately trying to fly away. He landed soon near the unconscious girl as the Night fury gave one last try and gave up.

Hiccup had given up trying to fly and tried to stand on his four feet? He soon noticed his best friend behind him trying desperately not to burst out laughing. Now he was pissed and jumped to his paws ready to tell not to laugh at him when he remembered the camp. And his tired form. He looked at Toothless who soon came to a realization.

Once the other Night fury looked at him after taking in his surroundings, Toothless knew what was special about people with Dragon-souls. They could turn into dragons! Or rather, they where were-dragons, just like the rumors about the werewolves on the mainlands, too far away from Berk or the other dragon-populated places. This dragon in front of him was no other than his rider. Children with Souls of dragons were rare, and children's with Night fury souls were even rarer. That's why Hiccup was chosen to become a leader.

It's pretty rare for a human with dragon soul to unlock it. Now Toothless knew why. The souls can't be unlocked without rage. Rage is said to be hot. Hotter than any emotion that can blind you. The feeling of someone's rage is the only thing that can help the dragon within to rise to the surface.

Toothless showed his rider how to stand, walk and run while the boy mimics his moves. He told him how he could change back because his father once told him how his once rider, now dead human, had done it.

Once Hiccup turned back to normal, or as normal as a Dragon shifter could get, he went to his tent and went to sleep after cleaning up after his dragon form. Toothless soon left, unaware that someone had seen his rider enter the tent, but magically not seen him.

Gobber was suspicious. He had seen Astrid leave the tent, and Hiccup return. But Astrid was nowhere in sight. He wanted to go and check what is going on but decided against when he saw that the teen had been gone the whole day, returning at nightfall. Hiccup had to be pretty tired.

The next day was shocking. Astrid had been found the next morning barely alive. Her foot was the worse part. Bloodied by a bite. Skin paler than a ghost. The wound was so deep, the bone was clear, but strangely enough, it had completely healed, leaving only a big and ugly scar behind. one that might never fade. And she was scared of Hiccup.

The team thought that Toothless had given Astrid what she deserved, but Hiccup was at the camp, ashamed of his sudden out-of-control body that suddenly turned into a Night Fury. He was confused, scared and ready to leave everything behind if needed. All he needed was his dragon to come or turn into a dragon and fly away if he could.

Gobber had seen a tail in the bushes just as it had disappeared, but since he had been half sleep half awake at the time, he didn't hear Astrid yell. He thought the dragon had come to fetch a fish, but it seems like he was wrong.

He suddenly noticed a sword by Astrid's hand and some blood on it. It could have been that the girl attacked the dragon and it defended himself, biting her leg to make her unconscious then leaving her after making sure she would survive. They took the girl and placed her in the ship, ready to leave when they noticed that Hiccup was missing. A note on his place saying he was staying so they could leave a boat for him.

They did leave a boat, but they also left a few fish, considering that they have more than enough food. The teens were confused all of them, but only one of them was relieved. The rest was confused but didn't complain.

Hiccup had left the others to train how to control his dragon along with toothless. The other dragons left to follow their riders, but they didn't know why Toothless and Hiccup stayed at eel island.
