Chapter Eight

Chapter Eight

Hiccup and I arrived at the village after he pulled me through the forest for a few minutes. "Let's go to my dad to see if he'll let you stay for a few days." Hiccup said without facing me. "Alright." I answered. When we got to the middle of the village, I saw a Viking that stood out from the rest. He was big, with a long red beard that cascaded down his chest, and his helmet covering his red colored hair. Hiccup lead me towards him, and I realized that the unique Viking was Hiccup's dad and the chief of this village. "Dad!" Hiccup shouted out, causing the chief to turn his attention towards him. "What is it, son?" he questioned as he noticed me behind Hiccup. "And who have you got with ya, meh boy?" he exclaimed, motioning towards me. "This is Astrid Hofferson." Hiccup started to introduce me. "I found her laying on the beach. She seems to have lost her memories. I was thinking if she can stay here for awhile." Hiccup finished. "Sure! She can stay here as long as she likes! Just make sure she stays out of trouble, eh?" the chief exclaimed. He then walked away, probably to attend some other business. Hiccup dragged me off after the talk with his dad, and started to show me the wonders of his village.

The Week Back On Netherland

H e a n

A few weeks past after the chief of Berk declared that I was betrothed to Hiccup. And where I found out that Astrid was my older sister.

I wanted to find proof that Astrid was indeed, my older sister. But I know I won't be able to find any on Berk, because it was all in Netherland, the place Astrid probably lived in before Berk.

I had to have a way to get back to Netherland, and my parents were one way to solve this problem. I told them I was homesick, and that I wanted to visit Netherland before I focused living my life on Berk. They agreed, so here we are now, back on my homeland.

Right after the ship was docked, I ran through the corridors of the ship and burst out onto the deck. The captain of the ship waved to me, and I quickly waved back while hurrying to the exit.

After I finally got off from the ship, I pushed through the bunches of villagers gathered to welcome the chief and his family back. I wasn't surprised that there were hundreds of villagers here, not even a bit, since Netherland was a huge island, probably even larger than Berk.

As I struggled my way through, there were some villagers who noticed me, but before they could approach me, I had already disappeared in the crowds of others.

Just then, my parents appeared on the deck, and all the villagers went towards them, making my struggling harder as they all pushed against me. Squeezing my eyes shut, I pushed more harder than before, and I came tumbling out of the thick crowd.

I cheered silently as I steadied myself on my two feet. Looking back at the ship, I saw my parents descending the wooden board with the villagers crowding the base. Glad I got out of their way, I started the long trek up a hill to the village tucked in between three hills.

I stopped in front of my parents' house. It was larger than the other houses, and there were stairs at the base, also unlike other houses. I ascended the steps of the stairwell, careful not to trip on the super thin steps.

The door gave out a loud creak when I opened it. Taking a deep breath, I stepped through the front door into the darkness of the house.

The window curtains were shut tightly, with few peeps of sunlight poking through the cracks. I blindly stumbled over to the window, hoping not to knock anything over.

When I reached it, I swiftly opened the window, revealing a bright sunlit spring day outside.

Sighing out in satisfaction, I began searching the house for any proof that could be of use.

------ two hours later ------

I couldn't find anything that could prove if Astrid and I were blood-related or not. There was a feast going on outside, and I really want to attend it.

"Haaah!" I quietly sighed out. My legs feeling weak, I slowly sat down onto the floor, careful not to make a sound. For a moment, I just sat there thinking about random things, when I felt the unevenness of the floor. Eyes wide, I turned onto my stomach, and felt around.

My fingers brushed against a bump protruding from the floor. Heart-thumping, I grabbed hold of the bump, and pulled. A hidden door opened, revealing a small hole in the ground.

A small notebook filled up the hole, and it was preserved well. I grabbed the notebook out, and closed the tiny door.

I crawled over to a corner, propped myself upright, and looked at the cover of the notebook. There was barely any words on it, except for the letters A.H.H.H.

Ahhh? Like yelling out?... Never mind that. I swept the thought away from my mind, and focused on my fingers creeping towards the edge of the cover.

Squeezing my eyes shut, I opened the cover of the notebook.
