Cynthia's POV
Hiccup and I have been working a few days. We were making a saddle for toothless. I really didn't need one for skymist. I was fine riding bare back.
Finally we had finished the saddle, and the next day, we showed it to toothless.
Hiccup ended up chasing him all over the cove, while I sat with skymist and laughed.
We had to try so many things to get him to fly, but nothing worked. They always ended up crashing.
One day he tried out a new gadget to help toothless fly, and it started out good. They got out of the cove, only to crash into a field. Skymist and I ran to help.
I helped hiccup up, "well, your getting there."
He sighed, and we turned around to see both our dragons rolling in the grass.
"What's wrong with them?" I asked hiccup.
He held a piece of grass in his hands, "I think it's the grass."
He then gained a mischievous smirk, and I rolled my eyes.
"Your planning on doing what I think your doing aren't you?" I asked.
He nodded, and I sighed. I don't even think he was allowed to use all these new methods.
The next day at practice, a gronkle, after giving Tuffnut a beating, went after hiccup.
I was about to try to help him out when he held up his hand. The gronkle stopped, and his pupils grew large.
"The grass." I thought to myself.
After practice, we were all walking back, and i tried to talk with hiccup. However the other guys had a different idea.
They crowded around him, knocking me away. I looked at the group, and glared. They didn't even notice I was there.
"Aw I left my axe back in the ring." Hiccups voice suddenly stopped the chatter.
He backed away from the group, "you guys go on ahead, I'll catch up with you."
He turned around, running into Astrid. He muttered a quick apology, and came over to me.
"Come with me." He whispered to me.
I nodded, and followed him. We headed back to the cove, and I smiled at the usual greeting I got with skymist. A pounce, and a few licks.
I patted her on the head, "hey girl. Miss me?"
She licked me again as her answer, and I laughed.
"Hey! He likes it!" I heard hiccup say.
I looked to see him scratching toothless, and toothless looked like he liked it.
I smiled, scratching skymist the same way.
Hiccup suddenly scratched toothless under the chin, and toothless dropped to the ground asleep.
I looked at the dragon in shock and amazement.
"Cool." I said.
Hiccup didn't answer. He stared at his hands in amazement. We bid our dragons a goodbye, and headed back to hiccups house.
The next day at training, the deadly nadder again, went up to me. Astrid shouted a battle cry, and ran at it, axe raised. I knew what she was trying to do, so I ran up to the dragon, and scratched it under its chin. I hoped I was doing in right.
I apparently was, because the dragon dropped to the ground asleep. Just like toothless.
Hiccup came over to me, and gave me a small high five. I smiled, and we walked out of the arena.
That night, we went to go get dinner. Hiccup sat down, and everybody stopped what they were doing, and rushed to sit by him. I was about to sit down, when Snotlout took my place. There was nowhere else to sit, so I sighed.
I walked by Astrid, and saw her slam her cup down on the table.
'I feel you Astrid.' I thought to myself.
I walked back to the cove, and walked over to skymist. I sat on a rock next to her, and suddenly she hopped up.
I jumped, and looked to see her clawing at a dot on the floor. I looked down to see the reflection from my dagger was making the dot.
I smirked, and got out my dagger. I used it to Make the dot move all around the cove. I laughed as I saw her chasing it.
After a while, I bid skymist a farewell, and walked back to hiccups house. I flopped onto the bed, and sighed.
"where have you been?" A voice asked.
I sat up to see hiccup over by his desk. I smiled sheepishly.
"Just at the cove with skymist." I said.
"Did you find anything out?" He asked.
I showed him the reflection of the dagger trick, and he laughed.
"That's cool." He said.
The next day at training, was with a new dragon we had never fought before.
"Meet the terrible terror." Gobber said.
A tiny dragon came out of the cage, and Tuffnut laughed.
"It's like the size of my-OH GET IT Off!" He interrupted himself as the tiny dragon leapt onto his face, and bit his nose.
The dragon suddenly got off Tuffnut, and followed a glowing dot. I smirked, and looked to see hiccup guiding it back to his cage.
"Wow. He's better then you ever were." I heard Tuffnut address Astrid.
I muffled a laugh, and I received a glare from Astrid. I smiled innocently, and tried to contain my laughter.
Hiccup and I left class, and we walked towards the cove. On the way, we saw Astrid throwing her axe into the trees.
I giggled, "frustrated are we?" I whispered to hiccup.
He chuckled, and we continued to walk.
He fixed the tail with some new things, and tied a rope to a post. He placed the tail out, and they glided in place.
I smiled, "it's amazing!"
Hiccup smiled, and made toothless land. He tried it again, and this time the wind was a little strong. The rope broke, and they were sent into the woods.
I dropped to my knees laughing.
"Shut up!" I heard hiccup laugh.
I laughed harder as I saw his face as he was getting up. He pulled at the rope he made himself so he wouldn't fall off the saddle, and saw it was broken.
"Great." He muttered.
"We can wait until dark, and sneak him into the blacksmiths, and you can fix it." I suggested.
He smiled, "sounds like a plan."
We waited till dark, and then we snuck him into the village. We took him to the blacksmiths, and hiccup started to fix the rope.
"Hiccup? Are you in here?" Astrid's voice could be heard.
He quickly put his apron on, and jumped out the window to greet her.
"Hey, hi Astrid. Hey, hi Astrid." He rambled.
I scoffed, and rolled my eyes. He could not be more obvious. I can't believe he likes her. What does he even see in her?
Wait, did I just get...jealous?
No, no, no that can't happen. I can't get jealous. He's my best friend, nothing more. I can't like him like that.
Suddenly toothless pulled hiccup through the window, and grabbed my hand. He pulled me up on toothless's saddle, and we quickly rode out.
"What was that?" I asked.
"Almost got caught." He said.
I nodded, and we rode toothless back to the cove. Skymist came out of the cave, and nudged toothless, and He purred.
"We better get going." I said.
He nodded, and we walked out of the cove.
General POV
Ships came back to the dock, burned and broken.
Stoic stepped off one, and Gobber came up to greet him.
"I trust you found the nest at least." He said.
"Not even close." Stoic muttered.
"Oh." Gobber paused, "next time then."
"I hope you had more luck then I did." Stoic said.
"Well, if by that you mean that your parenting troubles are over, then, yes." Gobber smiled.
stoic looked at gobber, a tinge of worry in his eyes.
"Congratulations Stoic! Everyone is so relieved!" A woman said, walking up to him.
"No one will miss those old nuisance's." Another man said.
"The village is throwing a party to celebrate!" One more said.
Stoic looked back at Gobber, "they're gone?"
Gobber nodded, "yeah. Most afternoons. But who can blame them. The life of a celebrity's very rough. They can barely walk through the village without being swarmed by their new fans."
"Hiccup and Cynthia?" Stoic asked, stopping Gobber from walking any farther.
"Who would've though it? They have this way with the beasts." Gobber said.
Stoic looked up at the sky, smiling.
Cynthia's POV
Hiccup and toothless were finally gonna do it. They were finally ready. They were finally gonna fly on their own.
I flew along side them on skymist to make sure nothing bad happened.
"Ok there bud. We're gonna take this nice and slow." Hiccup told toothless.
He looked at the sheet on his saddle, "position 3, no 4."
"You don't even know?" I asked.
He gave me a look, and I smiled. He set the tail, and they glided for a second.
"Alright, it's go time. It's go time." Hiccup muttered before toothless dived down.
"Come on buddy come on buddy." He chanted as they flew.
The flew through an arch, and I smiled widely.
"Yes it worked!" Hiccup said.
They then hit a rock, "sorry!" Hiccup said.
They hit another rock, "that's my fault." Hiccup apologized again.
Toothless hit hiccups face with his ear, and I laughed.
"I'm on it!" Hiccup said before checking his sheet again.
"Position 2, uh, 3." He corrected himself again.
I rolled my eyes, smiling. Hiccup and toothless suddenly started to fly straight up.
I smiled, and skymist shot up after them. I closed my eyes, enjoying the wind.
"Aw this is amazing! The wind In my-CHEAT SHEET! STOOOOOOPPP!" He suddenly yelled.
I opened my eyes to see hiccup and toothless falling out of the sky.
"Hiccup! Down skymist!" I yelled, and she dived down after them.
Hiccup grabbed toothless saddle, and got back on. They almost hit land until toothless opened up his wings, trying to slow them down.
"Hiccup! Look out!" I yelled as I saw the rocks up ahead.
He looked at his cheat sheet, and back at the rocks.
"Forget the sheet!" I yelled.
He threw the sheet away from them, and disappeared into the rocks. I eyed them worriedly, and flew in after them.
I saw them emerge out of the rocks, and heard, "YEAHHHH!"
I smiled, they were alright. Toothless let loose a fire ball, and they were headed right for it.
"Come on." Hiccup said, before he flew into it
We landed on another island, and there was a pile of fish. Skymist and toothless perked up, and ran to sit by it.
I looked at hiccup, and laughed.
"What?" He asked.
"You look like you just got hit by fire." I laughed.
"Kinda because I did." He laughed.
I slowed my laughing a little, "still. It's funny."
He smiled, rolled his eyes, and went to sit by toothless.
I sat by him, next to skymist as well. Both dragons made a gagging sound, and I had a feeling I knew what they were doing.
Two half eaten fish splatted on the ground. I shuddered, feeling nauseas.
"Uh, no thanks. We're good." Hiccup said.
I nodded, and the dragons went back to eating.
Suddenly a few terrible terrors flew to us. I remember what they did to Tuffnut during training, and scooted back a little. Skymist wrapped her tail around me, growling. Toothless covered the fish.
The terrible terrors tried to go for this fish, but toothless wouldn't let them. One grabbed the fish that skymist and toothless gave us, and toothless let him.
One other tried to get one out of the pile, but toothless got it back. He ate it, and laughed in his dragon language.
The terrible terror was about to throw fire at toothless when toothless shot fire into his mouth. The poor terrible terror wobbled dizzily, and hiccup laughed.
"Not so fire proof on the inside are you?" I said.
Hiccup threw him a fish, and the terror ate it in one bite.
The tiny dragon came up to us, and nuzzled between us. Hiccup started to pet it, and we stared in amazement.
"Everything we know about you guys, is wrong."

Oh my gosh guys. I'm so so sorry. This took way longer then I wanted it too.
This chapter was really hard to write. There was so much going on, and I didn't know how to put it all into words. Plus on top of it all, I've had band camp from 8 to 12 every morning.
Speaking of, from now until Friday I'll have band camp from 8 to 5 so updates will probably be a little slower. But I promise that I will update. I will not forget this book.
Anyway, that's all the news for today, and I'll be back with the next chapter as soon as I can. Bye guys!
