Red Death

...

Third Person P.O.V

The familiar fog envelopes the Viking's ships as they sail through, Stoick at the front and watching for danger.

"Sound your positions," he instructs as he looks around. "Stay within earshot."

"Here!" A voice calls.

"One length to your stern!"

Gobber watches the others work as he joins his old friend, nervously looking around.

"Listen, Stoick. I was... Overhearing some of the men, and, well, some of them, are wondering what it is we're up to here," Gobber stammers as Stoick's gaze remains ahead. "Not me, of course. I-I know you're always the man with the plan, but some, not me, are wondering if there is, in fact, a plan at all... And... What it might be?" He finishes, raising a brow.

"Find the nest and take it." Stoick growls back, looking back as (D/N) rumbles lowly.

"Of course. Send them running. The old Viking fallback," Gobber rambles, not noticing the dragons acting odd. "Nice and simple."

Toothless begins to chitter, his senses heightened and his ears perked as he leans to the side. (D/N) growls, his feathers ruffling and his scales spiking.

Stoick swiftly moves to the tiller, shoving some of the men aside as they grunt.

"Stand aside," Stoick demands, taking control as (D/N)'s head snaps up, his teeth curled back in a snarl and his eyes slits.

Toothless does the same, rumbling lowly as both dragons face east.

Stoick turns the ship, leading the others through the rock maze. The dragons face west, making him turn the ship and narrowly avoid jagged rocks.

"Hard to port," Vikings whisper to each other, bracing to sharply turn.

...

Back at Berk...

(Y/N) looks up at the familiar gates holding the Monstrous Nightmare, her hand still in Hiccup's. He swallows nervously, squeezing her hand before releasing it as he starts to approach the gate.

"If you're planning on getting eaten," Fishlegs' voice makes him pause and look back. "I'd definitely go with the Gronckle."

(Y/N) turns back, both surprised to see Astrid standing with the other kids. Tuffnut shoves past them, grasping (Y/N)'s hand as she nervously laughs.

"You were wise to seek help from the world's most deadly weapon. It's me."

Snotlout shoves Tuffnut away, grinning wildly at (Y/N).

"I love this plan, babe!"

"T-this is Hiccup's plan...?"

Ruffnut swiftly elbows Snotlout out of her way as she glares between the two.

"You're both crazy!" Her expression softens to a smirk, "perfect for each other."

(Y/N) and Hiccup's face burn from embarrassment as Astrid yanks Ruffnut away from the two, sighing heavily.

"So, what is the plan?"

Hiccup recovers from his embarrassment, grinning at (Y/N) as she nods back.

...

Back with Stoick...

The Vikings, minus Stoick, nervously look around the fog, squinting as they try to see ahead.

Stoick's gaze flickers to one of their old ships, making his face fall and his eyes widen. Gobber softly gasps, his expression holding sadness as he looks away.

"Isn't that the ship (F/N) was in charge of--?"

"Quiet!" Stoick's voice echoes, making the Vikings and Gobber flinch.

(D/N) rumbles lowly, his ears flickering as he starts to subtly pull at the leather restraints on his mouth as Toothless continues to unknowingly lead the Vikings.

Stoick steers the ship, managing to just dodge another rock as Toothless starts to frantically thrash at his restraints.

"Stay low, and ready your weapons."

Gobber nods before stumbling as their ship comes into contact with land.

Toothless continues to pull at his retraints, growling softly as Stoick walks past. (D/N) looks up at the mountain in fear, his ears flat against his skull and his scales spiked. He purrs softly at Toothless, comforting him as he starts to calm down from his panic.

Stoick looks up at the mountain, his gaze following the quick movement of a tail disappearing as a light humming could be heard.

"We're here," he smirks, swinging himself over the side of the ship and onto land, causing the humming to come to a halt.

...

Back at Berk...

Hiccup slowly moves backwards as the Monstrous Nightmare approaches, his gaze locked on his as he lowly hisses.

The others watch in awe, Tuffnut tearing up slightly and nodding with a smile.

Snotlout nervously looks around, slowly bending down and picking up a broken spear head.

(Y/N) sets her hand on it, shaking her head and making a hum of disagreement as Astrid lightly hits his arm.

He quickly sets it down, standing up straight and looking at the dragon in fear as Hiccup moves closer. He whimpers lightly as Hiccup reaches back and grabs his hand, moving it forward.

"Wait! What are you--?!"

The dragon loudly puffs air out at the sudden noise, making Snotlout recoil in fear.

"Relax," Hiccup speaks softly, moving his hand back towards the dragon.

"It's okay," (Y/N) smiles, watching the dragon stare at Snotlout.

Hiccup slowly sets Snotlout's hand where his once was, causing the Monstrous Nightmare to purr softly and nuzzle into it as he laughs in disbelief.

(Y/N) walks to the other dragons, gently stroking the Deadly Nadder's cheek as Hiccup walks towards the equipment.

"Where are you going?!" Snotlout frantically questions as Hiccup disappears.

"You're gonna need something to help you hold on." Hiccup replies, facing the others with rope in his hands.

"Trust him," (Y/N) laughs, making the others face her with gasps when they see the other dragons. "Falling off a dragon is not fun."

...

Back with Stoick...

Dozens of large wooden stakes were quickly crafted and set into the rocky ground as the men prepared themselves.

"When we crack that mountain open," Stoick draws the plan into the dirt, "all hell is going to break loose."

"In my undies," Gobber snickers. "Good thing I brought extras!"

"No matter how this ends, it ends today," Stoick ignores Gobber, raising his hand and closing his fist.

The Vikings take the signal, quickly launching the catapults and hurling large boulders at the mountain.

They slam into the side of the mountain, causing it to crack open. Stoick climbs up, the men behind him yelling in anticipation before silencing themselves.

Stoick lowers his hammer before gesturing it forward twice, making the men launch a flaming hay-ball into the opening, revealing thousands of sleeping dragons.

Stoick lets out a war cry, racing forward as the dragons begin to quickly swarm out of the small opening. He swings his hammer around, missing them as they flee.

Gobber does the same, yelling out and swinging his hammer around blindly.

The Vikings watch in confusion as the dragons fly off, not a single fireball blasted.

(D/N)'s ears swivel around as he listens, his eyes widening as he cowers in fear. Toothless whimpers, watching the others fly to safety.

"Is that it?" Gobber questions, shrugging lightly as he walks down. "We've done it!"

The Vikings cheer, Stoick looking up at the flying dragons in confusion before he notices (D/N) and Toothless frantically trying to escape.

(D/N) breaks the restraints from his mouth, roaring loudly and biting at the chains at his feet as Toothless pulls against his own chains.

"This isn't over!" Stoick realizes, turning to the mountain. "Form your ranks! Hold together!"

The mountain starts to rumble, a loud, thunderous roar echoing throughout the island.

Stoick's eyes wide as the mountain crumbles, causing him and the others to swiftly jump off to safety as something barrels through.

"Get clear!" Stoick orders, the others yelling in fear as they race away.

Stoick looks back as the others continue to run, his eyes wide at the sight of the Queen; The Red Death.

"Beard of Thor! What is that?!" Gobber breathes out, standing by his friend as the dragon continues to crash through the mountain, roaring loudly.

"Odin help us."
