Cynthia's POV
As the Vikings dispersed to go help clean up the town, I bite my lip, holding the remains of my necklace tightly in my fist.
I begin to walk towards my house when a voice stops me, "Cynthia!"
I turn around, and see hiccup walking over to me, "where are you going?" He asks.
I bite my lip, taking a deep breath, "Uh, h-helping the town clean up." I say.
He tilts his head, "Cynthia? What's wrong?"
"W-what do you mean? Nothing's wrong." I say hurriedly, looking at him with an innocent smile.
He gives me a look, "Seriously? You're my best friend Cynthia. I can tell when something's wrong." He says.
I look down, sighing. I slowly unclench my hand, and show him the remains of my necklace.
His eyes widen, "Oh...Cynthia." He says quietly.
I bite my lip, not saying anything. He holds out his hands, and I let the shattered pieces slide off my hands into his.
"I'm so sorry.." He says after a second.
I shake my head, and start walking back to my old house. I ignore his call, and walk into my house, skymist following.
I slam my bedroom door behind me, and fall on the bed. I didn't spend much thought on how this was the first time I'd been in my house in five years, but instead I hid my face in my arms.
Skymist whimpered, and nudged my arm lightly. I don't move, and she whimpers quietly again.
The one thing I had left of my parents, and it's gone.
Hiccups POV
I watched Cynthia walk away, and looked down at the pieces of her necklace in my hands. I frowned, rubbing my thumb over one of them.
Toothless walks over, nudging my arm slightly. I look down at him, and smile faintly.
"Hey bud...what am I supposed to do?" I ask, looking down at the pieces.
He looks at them, and tilts his head.
"I don't know how to make her happy...its been five years, I'm a little rusty on this...if I don't do anything, she might do what she did when her parents first died." I told him, looking at him nervously.
He sniffed the pieces, before looking up at me. He looked over at a building, and I followed his gaze. My eyes widen, and I smile slightly.
"Wait...toothless you just gave me a great idea!" I say, and run towards the blacksmiths.
I placed the pieces of her necklace on the table, and pull out some supplies. I smile as I pick up an old picture I drew, and used my hand to hold it against the wall. I take a knife, and stab it into the wall, holding the paper In place. I smile, and begin to get to work.
(Time skip)
Cynthia's POV
I sighed quietly, staring ahead of me. Skymist whimpered quietly, laying her head on my bed. I glance at her, and pet her slightly.
"I don't know bud. Should I? This is a pretty big step." I heard a voice from outside my door.
I lift my head slightly, looking at my door, Skymist doing the same.
"You know what, I change my mind. I can't do this." The voice says.
I hear a small growl, and suddenly my door is thrown open, hiccup falling to my floor. I sit up quickly, my eyes widening. Toothless looks at him, and laughs.
"Yeah, thanks toothless." Hiccup said sarcastically, before looking at me, "h-hey Cynthia." He stammered, standing up.
"Um...hey." I say, looking at him strangely.
He smiles slightly, and we sit there in silence. I clear my throat slightly, pushing my hair behind my ear.
"So...." We both say at the same time.
We look at each other, and he chuckles lightly.
"So, uh, I-I know you've been upset about your necklace," he starts, sitting on my bed by me.
At the mention of my necklace, I sigh, looking back down.
"B-but-! I-I made you something I-I think you're going to like!" He says quickly, making me look up at him.
"What?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"I-I, u-um....I-I made-" he sighed, running a hand through his hair, "You know what? Just-just here." He says, handing me a small case.
I give him a suspicious look, before hesitantly taking the case. I open it, and my eyes widen at what I saw.
"O-oh...my...Thor, Hiccup." I whisper, taking the object out of its case.
It was my moon necklace, but it had a small black dragon in front of it so it looked like it was flying.
"Hiccup, this is amazing." I say breathlessly, looking up at him.
He smiles, "turn it over." He says.
I obey, and tears weld in my eyes as I see what it said.
"My parents saying.." I whisper, my eyes wide.
He nods, grabbing my free hand. I grab his hand back loosely.
"H-how did you do this?" I ask.
"I took the pieces of your necklace, and fixed them. I might've added a few things." He says, smiling.
I grin up at him, a few tears trickling down my cheeks. He wipes them away, smiling back.
"T-thank you much, hiccup. Y-you have no idea how much this means to me." I say, hugging him tightly.
He hugs back, "No problem, Cynthia." He whispers.
I was about to pull away, when he just held me tighter. I tilt my head, confused.
"Hiccup? You okay?" I ask.
I feel him take a deep breath, before he pulls away.
"Listen...C-Cynthia...I need to ask you something.." He says, avoiding my gaze.
I tilt my head, slightly concerned, "Okay, shoot."
He takes another breath, "okay...um...wow, this is harder then I thought." He mumbles.
I take his hand again, "Hiccup what's wrong?" I ask.
He glances at our intertwined hands, his face turning red.
"Hiccup?" I ask again, tilting my head in concern.
"Okay, this isn't working. I-I should go." He says shakily, beginning to stand up.
I grip his hand tighter, pulling him back down, "Hiccup, you're worrying me. What's wrong?" I ask.
He sighs, "I don't know how to say this, Cynthia. I'm not good at this." He says, looking at me.
I frown, "Well what are you trying to say?"
He groans, running a hand through his hair.
"Okay, I can't do anything romantic, I'd blow it. I'm just gonna say it." He says, closing his eyes.
I nod slightly, "okay.." I mumble.
He bites his lip, "Odin help me." He mumbles, shutting his eyes tighter, "Cynthia...willyoumarryme?" He asks quickly.
I couldn't make out every single word, but I heard marry. My eyes widen, and I smile widely. I throw my arms around him, still gripping my necklace tightly in my hand. I crash my lips on his, and I feel him tense before kissing back.
I pull away, "of course, Hiccup!" I exclaim happily.
He grins, "Oh thank Thor." He mumbles, pulling out another case.
He puts a small ring on my ring finger, and I hold up my necklace.
"Can you help?" I ask, holding up my long hair.
He smiles, taking it. He places it around my neck, and I rub the pendent.
"Thank you so much for all of this hiccup." I say, smiling at him.
"For you, anything." He whispers, pushing my hair behind my ear.
I smile, closing my eyes.
"I love you, Cynthia." He says, smiling at me.
I open my eyes, smiling back, "I love you too." I say, hugging him tightly.
Out of the corner of my eyes I saw toothless and Skymist covering their eyes. I laugh, and pull away before kissing Hiccup again.
---------------------------
"This is berk."
Vikings around the island were busy cleaning it up. Hiccup was busy helping rebuild a house.
"A bit trampled and busted and covered in ice, but it's home."
Cynthia flew Skymist over next to toothless, helping lower a big piece. Hiccup smiled, and grabbed Cynthia's hands.
"It's our home."
Hiccup turned his attention to the island, watching the Vikings clean. He sees some of them building a large statue of Stoic, and smiled.
"Those who attacked us, are relentless, and crazy. But those who stopped them, oh, even more so."
Both Cynthia and hiccup duck when Astrid rides stormfly flies past them, laughing. Cynthia looked at hiccup, smiling before flying Skymist after stormfly. Hiccup watched them, grinning, before flying toothless in an opposite direction.
"But we stand for something, bigger then anything the world can pit against us."
Astrid and Cynthia fly by the blacksmiths, waving at gobber and valka.
They both waved back before valka took a head armor piece off of an a dragon. Gobber took it, and threw it in a pile. He smiled, walking over to the sheep launcher.
"We are the voice of peace. And bit by bit. We will change this world."
He launched the sheep, and skymist and stormfly flew faster. Before either could get it, a blur of black flew in front of them. They looked back to meet toothless's gummy smile.
Hiccup flew toothless back towards the nets, holding the black sheep.
"You see, we have something they don't. Oh sure they have armies, and they have armadas, but we, we have."
Hiccup tossed the sheep in the net, and landed on the Chiefs podium. Cynthia landed Skymist next to him, and the rest of the gang landed below and next to the podium.
"Our dragons!"
