Wheeljack gets a mission.

Hiccup dreams.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile on Dragon Island, Wheeljack was resting on a ledge of the volcano as he watched the sunset on Dragon Island. Though there was peace and quiet in this place, there was unrest inside the Wrecker's mind as thoughts and more circulated through his mind.
It had been a few months since he found himself stuck in this dragon form and in this realm with no way to go back home or any data to help him to know where he is and where to go. All he had was the island where he could stay, even though he was forced to serve under the rule of a tyrannic dragon queen.
As he was looking at the sun of this mysterious world, the thoughts of his own home planet Cybertron came to his mind. He was hoping that everyone back home was doing ok despite his absence. Even though he felt homesick and missed his friends, he's worried about what he would be forced to do. He knew those creatures, the dragons, were forced to do raids on who remained unknown but he knew he would find out soon enough and the thought of doing things that are against his nature haunted him. Just as he was gonna rest his eyes for a bit, something strange and inexplicable happened.
"Wheeljack... Wheeljack..." That made Wheeljack's eyes widened.
"Huh?" He sat up as his ears stood on edge as he looked around.
That voice... It's way too familiar and one that he and many others thought had disappeared a year ago. It couldn't be... could it?
'That voice...' He thought as his eyes scanned the horizon and his surroundings but couldn't find anything.
"Hmm... Ah, this place is driving me crazy. I'm starting to hear things. As if that was even possible." He shook his head as he huffs and was about to lay back down when he heard the voice again.
"Wheeljack... Come...." This time he sat up fully as his eyes were alert but he was feeling shock and relief for some reason. It is him!
'What? Could it be? Optimus Prime?' He thought in shock as his heart pounded against his chest.
Wheeljack stood up to try and find out where the voice was coming from when suddenly the wind started to pick up a bit and pushed against him a certain direction. He looked over and saw a path he had never seen before and he could feel the wind going in the direction.
"Guess I'll follow that path." He muttered as he turned around and jumped down from his perch.
Wheeljack walked on the path as the wind was telling him to go forward which he did and the path was leading him to a cave on the other part of the island.
"A cave?" He wondered in confusion.
'Don't know what that means, but the only way I can find out is by entering it.' He thought as he looked at the entrance with wary eyes.
"I do hope this is not a decepticon trap or a thing dragons do. Because I warn you, whoever is trying to trick me, better watch out because I'm not in the mood." Wheeljack said loudly to anyone who might be in the cave but there was no reply.
Wheeljack enters the cave slowly and cautiously as his instincts were on high alert for anything that could jump him.
At first it seems a bit dark but thanks to his enhanced sight in this body, he can see clearly in the dark like some sort of night vision but when he enters the cave, he finds out there was nothing and it just leads to a dead end.
He just sighed in dismay. He's probably going crazy cause he's starting to hear Optimus' voice.
"Nothing. I knew it. I'm crazy, here I am walking in strange caves and hearing Optimus Prime's voice like he's still alive when he's not. If you can hear me! Whoever sent me here, I'm done listening to you! Know why? Because you don't exist, everything here is part of my imagination!" He yelled in annoyance and it was a clear sign he was in no mood for anything funny.
When Wheeljack finished talking, a huge blue light suddenly began to shine out of nowhere and Wheeljack used his wings to cover his eyes from the light as he yelped in surprise and shock. When the light dimmed down, he uncovered them but he noticed that someone was different. He looked at his wings only to see that instead of the wings that he grew accustomed to, he saw that they had become his servos, his original Cybertronian servos.
He gasped as he looked at his servo in shock before he looked at his clawed feet to see that they were back to his pedes and back to normal. In fact everything in him had reverted back to the way it was before he landed in that strange world.
"What in the name of Primus is going on here?" Wheeljack questioned as he stood up shakily as he looked at his servos as he flexed his digits as his optics were still wide.
He lowered his servos and looked around in confusion.
"And more importantly where am I?" He wondered in confusion.
Suddenly a huge light began to shine, Wheeljack covered his optics from it as he tried to squint through the bright light only to hear something that made his spark pulsed in sadness and relief.
"You're in the Realm of the Primes, a place where it is rare for strangers to get in."
"Huh?" He breathes in shock as he uncovers his optics when he hears that same voice.
When he looks at who it is, he cannot believe what he's looking at. Standing in front of him was the one who sacrificed himself for the future of Cybertron.
"Optimus Prime? Is that really you?" Wheeljack questioned in shock and the Prime nodded with a warm smile.
"Hold on a nanosecond. If you're here. Is this... realm place where Cybertronians are dead? Did I join the Allspark?" Wheeljack wonder in confusion but Optimus shook his helm.
"No, you're still alive. This is where I came to when I fused the Allspark with the core of Cybertron after we defeated Unicron." He explained and Wheeljack had to hide a wince.
"I know... that's how you... died." He said sadly as he rubbed his arm struts and Optimus smiled apologetically. He didn't mean to cause such distress to his family, especially the pilot that helped him find the Allspark and brought it back to Cybertron.
"Yes, but you're wrong on one thing. I did not die. True that fusing the Allspark in the core could extinguish my spark, I was saved by the Primes who brought me here to this realm. A world between worlds." Optimus explained and Wheeljack looked at him as he processed what he was told. If that were the case, which begs the question.
"So you're saying you didn't die? If so, why didn't you come back?" Wheeljack asked him in confusion and he wanted to know.
"Because I can't. The process to bring me back is very difficult. And the Primes brought me here because they deemed it necessary to teach me what I still don't know." Optimus explained and Wheeljack understood what he meant.
"So in a way, you're stuck here like I'm stuck in that weird world where I'm a predacon, or what they call it, a dragon. Like always, I acted rashly and now I can't go back to Cybertron." Wheeljack said with a heavy sigh as Optimus looked at him.
"Do you feel guilty for your actions? Or because you feel like you didn't do more?" He asked him gently as Wheeljack nodded reluctantly.
"When you died, it sucked, like way worse than anything I've been through. And believe me when I tell you that I've been through a lot. But nothing could ever compare to when we lost you. And I wasn't able to do anything to help you. Sometimes I wish that... I could've done more than just... rush into things without thinking." Wheeljack told him sadly and Optimus felt his spark ached when he saw guilt in Wheeljack's optics. Wheeljack wished he could have done more but they can't turn back the hands of time on what happened. But there are more pressing matters.
"Wheeljack, you must understand that in this universe, everything happens for a reason. One example is how you landed in this world." Optimus told him.
"That happened because I didn't think things through." Wheeljack told him.
"Maybe so, but now you're here. Exactly where you must be and it does my spark good to see that you've made it safely." Optimus said but Wheeljack could sense that there was something more going on than when he came to this world.
"Where are you going with all of this, Prime?" Wheeljack asked and Optimus went straight to the point on what it is
"Time is running out and you must know there's a terrible darkness that is on the rise. And when it comes out, it will throw this world and everyone who lives it in this world into chaos. You are here to stop this evil before it is too late." Optimus explained to him.
"Okay but... am I strong enough to face this on my own? I may be a lone wolf but based on how you described that evil force, it sounds like it's too big for me to handle on my own." Wheeljack said. He might not be enough to face the evil force and beat it.
"Do not worry, you won't be alone. There is someone in this world that will help you in your mission." Optimus told him.
"Someone? Who?" Wheeljack asked in confusion.
"Allow me to give you some insight on what is to come." Optimus said before he put his servo on Wheeljack's head.
Both of their optics glowed white as it made Wheeljack receive partial of a vision of the future. He sees an island burning with humans carrying weapons like axes and maces and running away from something. Then the dragons fighting them, he sees himself attack a catapult with his fire. Then he sees himself fall hard on the land because he got hit by something. Suddenly the vision shows him the face of a brown hair kid with emerald green eyes and with a knife that was about to kill something or someone but with whom he becomes friends with and they both face this terrible threat before everything ends with the entire vision engulfed in an inferno.
Wheeljack gasped as he stepped back and blinked his optics in shock as Optimus stepped back as Wheeljack tried to process what he just witnessed.
"Whoa, what in the Allspark was that?" Wheeljack questioned after he recovered from the slight shock.
"The future that is about to come." Optimus told him before something akin to annoyance flashed in his optics and he looked at Wheeljack.
"And I'm afraid we have run out of time. I will have to leave for now." Optimus said as he started to become transparent.
"Wait. How will I know where to find this kid?" Wheeljack asked as he stepped forward.
"You'll know it in your spark." Optimus simply said before he closed his optics as he started to glow brightly.
That made Wheeljack to cover his optics again from the bright light but when the light dimmed down, he uncovered them to see that he was back in the cave. He looked at himself again to see that he was in dragon form once again. He looked around the cave as he felt his ear twitched in confusion.
"Again? This just gets weirder and weirder by the second." He sighed before he started to walk out of the cave. He stopped by the entrance and looked back one last time before exiting the cave, still confused on what he saw or what he was told.
But now he finally understands that the reason why he's in this world is because it needs him. And as an Autobot, he knows that it's his duty to protect the innocent, no matter the cost even if it was his life. He unfolds his wings and launches himself from the ground and flies to the edge of the island as he looks at the great horizon with determination in his eyes.
'Don't worry, Optimus, I won't let you down. I'll stop this evil, no matter what happens.' He vowed.
He watched the sun sink beyond the horizon slowly as he was deep in his thoughts only for the sound of wings started to get heard which snapped him out of it and he looked around to see who it was. It was Stormfly as she landed next to him before she looked at him with concern and worry in her amber eyes.
"There you are. I was getting worried about you. You're okay?" Stormfly asked in worry and Wheeljack nodded.
"I am now." He told her as his tail swayed behind him gently. Stormfly nodded but there was worry and wariness in her eyes.
"Good, well, you better get ready." She said as Wheeljack became confused and worried.
"For what?" He asked.
"It's time for the raid." Stormfly told him.
"What raid?" He questioned her. Looks like he's going on another raid. Again.
"Tonight, we attack the human village known as Berk." She said before she unfolds her wings and takes off back to the volcano as Wheeljack watched her leave.
Wheeljack didn't know what Berk was or why it was called that, but his spark told him that it would bring him closer to what he needs to face this incoming evil and hopefully this will bring him closer to the mysterious kid from his vision. With one last look at the sunset, he took flight towards the volcano to join the others for the raid that was soon to start.
Back on Berk, Hiccup sat on his bed as he looked at the mark that he got from Optimus. It's some type of symbol which should have a meaning but what?
So many questions circulating through his mind but the one thing that always sticks is the comrade of Optimus Prime that he needs to meet but how will he know who it is if he does know what he looked like or what their names are but Optimus did say that he'll meet him in a form that he's familiar with. So maybe the comrade will be another viking.
A yawn made its way past his lips as he rubbed his eyes.
"I better get some sleep. Maybe it's just gonna be a crazy dream." Hiccup said quietly as he blew the candle out and lay down on his bed.
He stared at the ceiling of his room before shifting to lay on his side and instantly fell asleep but almost immediately, he started to have those dreams again.
Dreamscape starts (Episode Hurt though Hiccup is experiencing it as Miko Nakadai)
Hiccup could feel himself nodding off to sleep as a sense of guilt, the need to avenge someone and exhaustion was coursing through his body. For some reason, his body felt wrong immediately and he could feel that whatever he was sitting on was moving like a ship and he could sense someone else was with him.
"Maybe you ought to power down for a while." Someone spoke in a male voice and that jolted him awake a little. And glance to the side to see someone. For some reason, the one beside him is the same metal giant as Optimus but a different color.
He felt himself rubbing his eyes to remove the tiredness from them as he felt his mouth opening.
"I'm good." He reassured him as he shifted to a more comfortable sitting position.
"He's gonna make it, right?" He couldn't help but ask meekly though he doesn't know who the 'He' he's talking about.
The one sitting on the pilot seat hummed as he glanced down at him as he kept his optics at the front.
"No question, kid. Bulkhead's the toughest wrecking ball I've ever known, and Ratchet's a great Doc. The best." The male said and Hiccup couldn't help but agree to what he was saying. So Bulkhead is the He they're talking about.
"Yeah. There's no way Bulk would miss all the stuff we have planned. Car sledding, worldwide smash-a-thon. We've been making a list." Hiccup said as he hugged his knees to his chest and laid his head on them.
"Like I said, Bulkhead's too stubborn not to pull through. I know it, and I bet you do, too." The giant said in a kind and reassuring tone as he was lulled to sleep.
A sudden jolt made him snap awake and rubbed his eyes.
"I'm up!" He yelped as he climbed up something and saw what looked like a mountain and a cave.
"What's the plan?" He asked as he turned to his giant companion as he was doing something to the wheel before turning to him.
"Kid, if anything happens to me, press this." He instructed Hiccup as he pointed to one of the buttons.
"I've preset the autopilot to get you back to Prime's base." He finished and Hiccup looked at him in disbelief. They had a deal.
"What? No way! We had a deal. You said I could help!" He said stubbornly but his companion gave him a stern look.
"And you did. But it ends here." He said and Hiccup looked at him pleadingly to let him come.
"This is my fight, too." He told him but his companion shook their head.
"Sorry, kid, but Bulkhead's gonna wake up. And he'll file off my rivets if you're not there when he does." He said as he went to the ramp and went out of the ship as Hiccup yelled a name that he didn't know.
"Wheeljack!" He yelled as a feeling of confusion swelled in his gut. Is that the name of his companion? Well at least he doesn't have to call him or his companion.
He watched from inside the ship as Wheeljack transformed into his vehicle form and drove to the cave entrance and stopped there.
So many things happened and Hiccup felt his heart dropping by the minute. Wheeljack at first got the upper hand but whoever he was fighting with was stronger than him and Wheeljack was being beaten brutally. Something caught his attention and he shouted at Wheeljack.
"Go for the grenade!" He shouted urgently.
Wheeljack seemed to have heard him and he went straight for it but the creature stopped him and continued to beat him and Hiccup banged the glass in fear for him. He needs to help Wheeljack!
"WHEELJACK!!!" Hiccup screamed and Wheeljack only looked at him weakly and tears welled up in his eyes.
"No." He couldn't stop the sob from escaping.
"Go, kid. Get out of here." Wheeljack told him weakly and Hiccup panicked and looked at the wheel.
His hand hovered to where Wheeljack set the ship to head back to base but he couldn't leave him alone and left him to die. So instead of pushing the autopilot, he pressed the other one and it fired something towards the creature beating Wheeljack and it exploded.
But victory didn't last long as more of the same creatures came out of nowhere much to his horror.
"Wheeljack, run!" Hiccup yelled to him.
Wheeljack managed to reach the ship and sat down on the pilot seat.
"I thought I told you to hit autopilot." He told him and Hiccup sat back down on the second one.
"Bad things happen to bots when I leave their side." He said as Wheeljack turned on the engine of the ship and they took off with the swarm following them.
Wheeljack tried to fire at them but it's clearly not enough to get rid of the swarm.
"Too many to pick off. I'll need something with a wider blast radius." Wheeljack said he set the ship on autopilot as he went to the back and Hiccup looked over to see him grabbing a box of something.
"But I thought you-" He said in confusion but Wheeljack smirked reassuringly.
"I only carry one at a time." Wheeljack told him as he carried the box somewhere. He didn't see what happened but all he needed to know was a big explosion as Wheeljack came back without the box as he piloted the ship.
"Welcome to the Wreckers, kid. You did Bulkhead proud." Wheeljack said as he drove them back to base.
Even though they defeated the creatures, why does he feel weird and with no satisfaction from their victory.
"Then why don't I feel any different?" He muttered. Wheeljack didn't know what to say but he just gave Hiccup a saddened and understanding smile as the flight back was only in silence.
Dreamscape ends;
Hiccup jolted on his bed as he was in a cold sweat as he looked around to find himself back in his room.
"What... What was that?" Hiccup muttered as he put a hand on his head. There was that dream again. What could it mean? A sign?
A sudden commotion outside caught his attention and he got up from his bed and started to head downstairs unaware that this night is where his fate along with another changed.
AN: I was supposed to add this but my friend made a better one.
Visions:
"Okay, but I hit a Night Fury."
"I see a dragon and I just have to kill it"
"You are many things, Hiccup, but a dragon killer is not one of them."
"I'm a viking. I'M A VIKING!!!"
"I did this..."
"I don't want to fight dragons."
"Pain, love it."
"So why didn't you?"
"Why don't you just fly away?"
"The name's Wheeljack, kid."
"Look, I don't care what other people do but you're acting weird."
"Astrid, Wheeljack. Wheeljack, Astrid."
"Alright, I admit. This is pretty cool. It's... amazing. He's amazing."
"To protect your pet dragon? Are you serious?"
"Wheeljack is not a pet. He's my best friend."
"Go, Wheeljack, go! Get out of here!"
"And we've killed thousands of them!"
"You're not a viking. You're not my son."
"What are you going to do about it?"
"Probably something stupid. Then... something crazy."
"We're vikings. It's an occupational hazard."
"What's happening to it?!"
"Kid, that thing's being corrupted by Dark Energon!"
"Let's destroy this thing!"
"No... NO!!!"
"KID!!! HICCUP!!!"
Episode mentioned and used that Hiccup experience in Miko's eyes TFP S2 Hurt. Elements of Predacons Rising is also mentioned
