The Wedding
It's been a few days since Heather's arrival to Corona and warned Hiccup about the upcoming Vikings, the wedding was taking place tomorrow and the last guests were beginning to arrive.
Rapunzel's friend, Cassandra had volunteered to make sure they all got here safely, and to keep an eye out for the Vikings and make sure they wouldn't do anything stupid.
Out in the ocean, a ship full of Vikings was heading towards Corona. On board were Stoick, Gobber, Astrid, Fishlegs, Snotlout, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Oswald and Dagur.
"Guys, I think I see the kingdom up ahead." Fishlegs told them as he looked on from the front of the ship.
"How much further, Fishlegs?" Stoick asked from the helm of the ship.
"I'd say about another hour or so." Fishlegs answers.
"Very well. Gobber, keep up the speed." Stoick told his friend, who was on the wheel.
"So, who do you think this princess is marrying?" Astrid wonders.
"Whoever he is, he's not as awesome as me." Snotlout stated.
"Does that matter more when there are dragons over the place?" Tuffnut asks as he looked through a scope.
"Yeah, there's nothing more beautiful than a dragon raid." Ruffnut added as she too looked through her own scope next to her brother.
Everyone looked at the twins and then at the direction of the kingdom and the twins turned out to be right as they could see that there were dozens of dragons flying around Corona.
"They might need help. Gobber, full speed." Stoick ordered in concern.
The Vikings got to port as fast as they could to Corona to help with the raid, but when they got to the docks, they were surprised when they saw that the dragons weren't attacking and was greeted by Cassandra and her Nightmare, Torch.
"Welcome to the kingdom of Corona." Cassandra greeted them. "I'm Cassandra. Let's get going, the other guests have already arrived."
"But what about the dragons? We have to slay them!" Stoick stated and looked to Torch, who got into defensive mode when Cassandra calmed him down quickly.
"There's no need for that. We here in Corona all live in peace with them, we don't fight them." Cassandra firmly informed them. "Now, move it! We don't have all day. You're the last guests to arrive so we better hurry."
The Vikings slightly flinched by the tone of her voice and quickly followed Cassandra through the streets of the kingdom. They wanted to ask Cassandra so many questions, but they were more considered about the thousands of dragons so they kept their mouths shut.
"You've been quiet." Cassandra ended up snapping the Vikings out of their thoughts.
"I just find it hard to believe that you people let these devils roam free." Stoick scoffed as he watched everyone treat the dragons as equals.
"You're lucky the princess' chosen prince didn't hear you." Cassandra said to them with a chuckle.
"Who is this mysterious prince she's marrying?" Astrid finally spoke up.
Cassandra didn't really know how to respond as she remembers Hiccup's request that they don't know who he is until the big day tomorrow.
"The prince has asked to remain unanimous until tomorrow, but he has been getting a reputation of being called the Dragon Conqueror." Cassandra answers and sees the looks the Vikings are giving her, but she knows that's the best answer she can give them. "Well, now that you know how we live here, let's keep moving," She said as she started to lead the Vikings towards the castle.
Unknown to any of them, they were being watch from the top of the castle by Hiccup, Rapunzel and their dragons, with Hiccup wearing his suit and mask for good measure.
"So, now that they're here, what are you going to do?" Rapunzel asked her fiancé.
"I guess the time has finally come." Hiccup sighed as he closed his eyes at all the memories that their faces brought on.
"The time for what?" Rapunzel questions.
"To reveal myself to them." Hiccup said as he took off his mask. "I can't keep running from them."
"What are the chances of them being happy to see you after al this time?" Rapunzel wonders.
"I'd say pretty low." Hiccup stated, remembering what his father said to him the last time they saw one another. "They marked me a traitor, but since we're not on Berk, they can't do anything."
"What if they cause chaos during the wedding?" Rapunzel wonders.
"I wouldn't worry about that. They might be stubborn, but they're also smart...at least smart enough not to start a brawl in a room full of dragons." Hiccup assured her and turned to his Night Fury. "That's where you come in, bud. I'm sure they won't do a thing once they see you there."
Toothless took that as a compliment as he stood with pride as Serenity rolled her eyes unimpressed.
"You ready?" Rapunzel asks as she took his hand.
Hiccup smiles as he turns to face her and raised his mask and kisses her on the lips. "Tomorrow, I'm going to be married to the most beautiful woman in the world. I'm more than ready."
"Good." Rapunzel says with a smile. "Because I'm ready for it."
The next day, the castle was full of activity.
Hiccup and Toothless were in the air even before sunrise as he knows he isn't supposed to see Rapunzel until the wedding. Meaning he had to keep his distance for the rest of the day.
Everyone was ecstatic that the day had finally arrived, all except for the Vikings, who wanted to know who the Dragon Conqueror was. They were as equally shocked to learn that Heather was also living there, and she confirmed that she knew who the Dragon Conqueror was, but won't say anything as they'll find out in a few hours.
When confronted by her father and brother, she confirmed she has came here instead of home and that she too bonded with a dragon before introducing them to Windshear, amazingly they were understanding and weren't as angry or mad as Heather was expecting them to be.
It was a little in the afternoon when the time has finally come as all of the guests were in the throne room, waiting for the groom and the bride.
The Vikings were a little nervous as there were at least hundreds of dragons inside, including Flameheart and Windbreaker. King Fredrik and Queen Auriana have taken their respective seats.
When final checks were made, Cassandra nodded to the king in confirmation they were all ready and he stood up from his throne.
"Attention, everyone. First, I'd like to thank all of you for being here on this day. Today, the princess and her prince become husband and wife." King Fredrik began his speech. "Now, normally the groom would come out first, but they have decided to do things a little differently. So, without further ado, please stand up and please welcome Princess Rapunzel, accompanied by her dragon, Serenity."
Everyone stood up and the Vikings gasped as Rapunzel entered the room with Serenity right beside her.
Fishlegs nearly fainted at the sight of the unfamiliar dragon as Rapunzel came in wearing a long white dress and her hair was tied to a ponytail as the orchestra began playing with their not-Gobber friend playing.
When she got to her parents, they proudly smiled at her and she happily returned it before she stood by Heather and Cassandra who were her bridesmaids as their dragons were standing to their side.
"And now, please welcome Prince Hiccup, accompanied by his dragon, Toothless." King Fredrik introduces the Dragon Conqueror and the Vikings could've sworn they heard wrong.
They were brought out of their thoughts when they saw the Dragon Conqueror entering the room with his Night Fury who was carrying the rings on a pillow as well as Pascal on Toothless' snout tossing flowers from a basket, accidentally getting one caught in Toothless' nose.
Hiccup came in and was still wearing his mask, along with his black suit. He made a few steps before stopping. He looked around everyone before he saw the Vikings.
Inhaling deeply to build up his courage, Hiccup put his hands on the mask before taking it off, revealing his face to the Vikings.
Speaking of whom, they were in complete shock. None of them knew what to do or say or even think at what they were seeing.
Hiccup and Toothless made their way to Rapunzel and her parents and nodded at them with smile.
"You may sit down." King Fredrik told the guests and they did as they were asked.
"Let's begin." Queen Auriana said and King Fredrik nodded before speaking.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate the joining of Rapunzel and Hiccup in marriage..."
As that was happening, Toothless finally sneezed due to the flower and shook the rings, sending them flying in the air and they watched as the rings rolled off and out of the room.
Toothless looks to Pascal who also saw them roll off before they both looked back to the soon to be married duo and sees they haven't noticed it yet. Taking advantage of that, and seeing nobody's looking at their direction, even the Vikings find the couple more interesting than them.
Hiccup took a quick glance over to them, but Toothless kept the pillow high enough so Hiccup wouldn't notice the rings were missing with a smile and he turned back to the king and Rapunzel.
Toothless and Pascal backed out of the room slowly as only Windshear and Serenity seemed to have noticed, but they saw what was missing and kept themselves quiet about it.
Toothless and Pascal quickly made their way out of the castle and chased after the rings. As they were getting closed to gaining them, they hit a stone and were sent flying through the kingdom.
Pascal and Toothless then split up, Pascal going left for Hiccup's and Toothless going for Rapunzel's.
Pascal's ring went into a punch bowl and dived in after it, accidently knocking over the spoon and scaring the person who reached for it and sends Pascal running off across the tables, knocking a few more things along the way and accidentally sticking his tongue out to catch the ring and ended up getting it stuck on the statue of their cupid friend.
With Toothless, he's running through the streets chasing the ring. It's not like he can't catch up with it, he's the offspring of lightning and death, it's just he's a little too fast for it and ends up a little ahead of it so he needs to tone down on the speeding.
Not to mention it's a little impossible to keep eyes on the ring and get around all the people, stands, and dragons all over the place, making it extremely difficult.
But luckily he was able to at least use his speed to make it around everyone, accidentally knocking into a few stands in the way before finally coming up to the ring.
Pascal got off the statue, but ends up flying and tripping up someone, sending the ice sculpture flying into the air and loosing the ring again in the process.
Toothless had just got the ring back and noticed he was covered in cake and makeup from the stands that he ran into on the way. Just before he could move, the sculpture came down and ended up smacking under Toothless, causing him to screech in pain, drooping the ring again.
Toothless looks to see where it went just as it was picked up by a group of Terrible Terrors and flew off. Toothless growls at this and quickly blasts them, making them drop the ring and Toothless chased after it.
Pascal was just about to make it to the ring just as it landed in a lantern a child was carrying and was sent flying down the street. Pascal raced over to the lantern only to see there's an entire bundle of them all waiting to be released.
Toothless flew, well more like glided, over the streets as soon as he gets a clearing, he dives down and lands inside of a cart just as he got the ring.
Going down the street in the cart, he comes across some people selling frying pans with Rapunzel and Hiccup's faces on them and was smacked in the face by at least three of them.
Toothless just shook it off when he suddenly saw he was about to hit a giant pan and blasted it, sending a big clang through the kingdom.
On the castle wall, a guard was looking very confused where that came from as that wasn't him.
Across town, they saw that as it was time for them to do their part.
"That's the signal! Release the doves!" He calls out and releases the doves.
The others in town then saw the doves and saw it was time. "There's the doves! Release the lanterns!"
They had their dragons, all Gronckles, and released the ropes and in turn release the lanterns.
Pascal was still searching for the ring until he finally found it and hanged onto the lantern.
Toothless finally got free of the cart and was sent flying and even caught Pascal in the process.
They see they finally got the rings back and ended up falling and landing into several barrels of drinks.
Meanwhile, back at the castle, the ceremony was just wrapping up.
"...in everlasting peace." King Fredrik has just finished. "May I have the rings?" He asks as they looked over to Toothless and they all almost jumped in shock at what they saw.
Standing in-between Serenity and Windshear, who were also looking very confused and shocked by the appearance of Toothless and Pascal, Toothless was panting in exhaustion while covered in liquids, makeup, a hat, and even tar somehow.
Toothless took a few steps forward and they all took a few steps away from the dragon as he held out the rings out and Hiccup quickly took them off and Toothless took a few steps back.
Rapunzel and Hiccup look very confused by what happened as he slipped the ring onto his now wife. Rapunzel then looked back to Hiccup with a smile and slipped the ring onto him.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride." Fredrik says, still looking over to Toothless, very confused as to what happened as Rapunzel pulled Hiccup into a kiss and the whole room jumped into cheers, all the people from the Snuggly Duckling, the kids who helped with her hair, all the visiting kingdoms, everyone all except for the Vikings who were still sitting in shock as to what they're witnessing.
Toothless and Pascal sighed in relief and accidentally knocked into the cake but it was immediately stopped by both Serenity and Windshear.
Hiccup and Rapunzel finally pull away from the kiss and look to the Vikings and know that they're going to want answers, and they especially needed to get Toothless and Pascal a bath.
