All of this because of a bola

Rapunzel ties Hiccup in her hair and dragged him across the floor towards an empty wardrobe.

After a few failed attempts to keep him inside, she was able to get him in as she uses a chair to keep it closed.

"Okay, okay, okay. I've got a person in my closet." Rapunzel says, no idea what to do with him now. "I've got a person in my closet." She then looks at herself in the mirror and remembers what her mother said earlier. "I've got a person in my closet! Too weak to handle myself out there, huh, mother? Well, tell that to my frying pan." She says and swings the pan in her hand and accidentally hits herself in the face.

"Rapunzel!" Speaking of which...her mother was outside.

Rapunzel rushes over to the window and wraps her hair around the hook again and tosses it down for her mother to use to rise up. "I have a big surprise!"

"Uh...I do, too!" Rapunzel says as she pulls her hair to bring her up.

"Ooh, I bet my surprise is bigger!" Gothel says.

"I seriously doubt it." Rapunzel mumbled as she looks to the wardrobe and pulls her mother into the window.

"I brought back parsnips. I'm going to make hazelnut soup for dinner. Your favorite. Surprise!" Gothel tells her.

"Well, mother, there's something I want to tell you." Rapunzel says when she interrupts her again.

"Oh, Rapunzel, you know I hate leaving you after a fight. Especially when I've done absolutely nothing wrong." Gothel says and drops the small basket of hers down.

"I've been thinking a lot about what you said earlier." Rapunzel says and eyes the wardrobe while still facing her mother.

"I hope you're not still talking about the stars." Gothel warns her.

"Floating lights, and yes, I'm leading up to that." Rapunzel says.

"Because I really thought we dropped the issue, sweetheart."

"No, mother, I'm just saying, you think I'm not strong enough to handle myself out there." Rapunzel says and goes to move the chair.

"Oh, darling, I know you're not strong enough to handle yourself out there."

"If you just-"

"Rapunzel, we're done talking about this."

"Trust me on this."

"Rapunzel!"

"Come on.

"Enough with the lights!" Gothel finally explodes. "You are not leaving this tower! Ever!"

Rapunzel looks surprise and knows that she means it and leaves the chair against the wardrobe.

Gothel then drops down into the her chair with a sigh. "Great now I'm the bad guy."

Rapunzel looks at the wardrobe, her mother, and up at her painting of the lights and comes with an idea.

"All I was gonna say, mother, is that...I know what I want for my birthday now." Rapunzel tells her.

"And what is that?" Gothel asks.

"New paint. The paint made from the white shells you once brought me." Rapunzel says, knowing that'll get rid of her for a few days.

"Well, that is a very long trip, Rapunzel. Almost three days' time." Gothel tells her.

"I just thought it was a better idea than the stars." Rapunzel says as she rubs her arm in nervousness.

Gothel gets up and walks over to her daughter. "You sure you'll be all right on your own?"

Rapunzel hugs her mother. "I know I'm safe as long as I'm here."

Gothel decides to go and believes Rapunzel will stay in the tower. "I'll be back in three days' time. I love you very much, dear."

"I love you more." Rapunzel replies.

"I love you most." Gothel says.

Later, they're waving goodbye and Rapunzel waits for her to be out of sight before rushing over to the wardrobe.

She has her frying pan in hand and removes the chair. Then she throws her hair to open the door and when it does, Hiccup falls flat on his face, still unconscious from the three bruises to his head.

Rapunzel walks up to him and has an idea on what to do.

Pascal is on Hiccup's shoulder as Rapunzel ties him to the chair and keeps him in the middle of the room with a spotlight on him. The chameleon tries to wake him up by slapping him or smacking him with his tail.

And when that didn't work, he stuck his tongue in his ear and that wakes him up instantly.

Hiccup jolts awake, throwing Pascal off his shoulder in the process. He then shakes off his painful headache and a possible concussion by this point and looks down to see he's wrapped in...

"Is this...hair?" Hiccup asks, looking to how far the hair goes across the room and it's almost never ending when he spots who the hair belongs to hiding above him.

"Struggling...struggling is pointless." Rapunzel says in the darkness, confusing Hiccup as she comes down from above yet stays in the darkness. "I know why you're here, and I'm not afraid of you."

"What?" Hiccup asks, feeling like this girl's got him confused for someone else.

She steps into the light and Hiccup gets a good look at his captor and wasn't exactly expecting someone who almost looks as scrawny and his age to have got the drop on him.

"Who are you?" Rapunzel asks. "And how did you find me?"

Hiccup has no idea what to say, not knowing if this girl can be trusted with how he got into this situation.

"Who are you, and how did you find me?" She repeated and raised her frying pan to hit him again.

"Please don't hit me with your pan again." Hiccup finally pleaded, not wanting to get hit in the head for a forth time. "I don't know who you are, or how I found you. My name's Hiccup." He tells her.

Rapunzel scoffs and brings the pan closer to him and Hiccup moves so she doesn't hit him again. "Who else knows about my location...Hiccup?"

"Listen, Miss-" Hiccup replies.

"Rapunzel." She tells him.

Hiccup takes in the name and knows he's heard weirder names, his is Hiccup for crying out loud. "Rapunzel. Listen, I was attacked in the forest, lost my best friend who's also my way of transport in the process. Woke up and couldn't find him anywhere, I came across your tower thinking he was hiding here, and I climbed it."

"Really?" Rapunzel asks, not believing him. "So, you want nothing with my hair?" She asks as she circles around him.

"What?" Hiccup asks, confused as to why he would want this girl's hair.

"To cut it? Sell it?" Rapunzel keeps questioning.

"No. The only thing I want with your hair is to get myself out of it." Hiccup tells her and Rapunzel is confused.

"Wait, so you don't want my hair?" Rapunzel clarifies.

"Why in the Archipelago would I want your hair?" Hiccup asks her. "Like I said, I was attacked, lost my friend, was knocked unconscious, saw your tower and climbed it. End of story."

"You're...you're telling the truth?" Rapunzel asks.

"Yes!" Hiccup says when Pascal comes out from her hair and approaches Hiccup to the top of the pan and stares into Hiccup's eyes for a good second.

Rapunzel backs away from him with Pascal to talk privately.

Pascal squeaks, trying to talk to her.

"I know. I need someone to take me." Rapunzel says as if she could understand him.

Pascal squeals again to her as a response.

"I think he's telling the truth, too. He doesn't have fangs. But what choice do I have?" Rapunzel says and Hiccup tries escaping the hair. "Okay, Hiccup, I'm prepared to offer you a deal." She tells him and Hiccup stops struggling.

"What?" Hiccup asks as she pulls the chair and he falls on his face as she moves him.

"Do you know what these are?" Rapunzel asks and shows him her painting of the lights.

"No, but if I had to guess; lanterns." Hiccup guesses this being a new place he hasn't visited, but he already knows a few places that do use lanterns to celebrate certain events.

"Lanterns? I knew they weren't stars." Rapunzel whispers and looks back at Hiccup. "Well, tomorrow evening, they will light the night sky with these lanterns. If I let you go, you will act as my guide, take me to these lanterns, and return me home safely. That is my deal."

Hiccup struggles to get back up and just settles for on his side. "Sorry, but I try to avoid large crowded areas. I'm trying to lay low, plus I'm not exactly a good pick for a guide when I've only just got here." He explains to her.

Rapunzel looks to Pascal who puts his fist into a beat down position.

Rapunzel climbs back down to the floor and drags Hiccup towards her and sets him up right. "Something brought you here, Hiccup. Call it what you will, fate, destiny."

"A bola." Hiccup replies annoyed, knowing if it weren't for that, he wouldn't be in this predicament.

"So I have made the decision to trust you. But trust me when I tell you this..." Rapunzel says a she pulls the chair so Hiccup is face to face with her. "You can try your hardest to get out, but without me letting you out myself, you won't be leaving anytime soon."

Hiccup sees she does have a point as this hair is seriously thick and long, and he's not the best to get out of normal situations with rope or chains. Not only that, but the longer Toothless is out there alone, the bigger chance of someone finding him. He needs to get out there and find him, and she seems determined to keep her promise.

"Okay, you want me to bring you to see those lanterns, bring you home, and I can be on my way?" He clarifies.

"I promise." Rapunzel tells him. "And when I promise something, I never break that promise."

Hiccup looks to her in the eyes and sees she is willing to do anything for this. "Alright. I'll take you to see the lanterns."

"Really?!" Rapunzel asks, getting excited when she drops the chair and Hiccup falls flat on his face. "Oops."

"Ow."
