21.
Jiwoo fiddles with her fingers, sitting on a chair besides Jimin in his ward. The doctor had said it wasn't anything serious and he just fainted due to exhaustion and lack of food. Jiwoo sighed again at the thought of how she found his collapsed self. She had felt so scared in that moment that she couldn't wait until he woke up to give the boy a piece of her mind.
“Jiwoo?”
The said girl snapped her head up. Jimin was awake and offered her a weak smile. Jiwoo smiled at him back, reaching over as if brush his hair when instead her hand formed a fist and she punched him in the stomach lightly.
Jimin gasped, not from pain but shock. He held his stomach and turned his back to her, on the bed.
“How can you do that?! I'm a sick patient!” Jimin cried out, comically.
“Sick patient? I could show you how a real sick patient looks like!” She jumped forward and grabbed his shoulder, turning him towards her again. “I can punch that pretty face of yours in!”
Jiwoo expected a Jimin to say a joke or wail like a child while screaming for Hwasa but the boy just smiled at her. A small smile that didn't reach his eyes. Jiwoo's playful expression dropped and she returned the smile, dropping her forehead against his shoulder.
“I'm just glad you're okay,” She mumbled, voice getting muffled by the cloth of his shirt. “You gave us quite the shock there.”
“Us?” Jimin repeated, heart fluttering at the thought of Taemin being outside room.
“Yeah, Hwasa and Namjoon drove you to the hospital and the others came to see you and each every hour.” Jiwoo stated, pulling herself up and sitting down on the chair. She reached over to the night stand to pour a glass of water from the jug for Jimin.
“Was,” Jimin bit his bottom lip. “Was Taemin here?”
Jiwoo's hands nearly drop the glass of water before she held herself steady. She knew that there was something going on between the two. And to wonder what it might be because it eventually led Jimin to the hospital was something else. She extended the glass of water to Jimin who accepted it, gratefully.
“No,” Jiwoo lied. “Taemin didn't come, he even refused when we called and asked him to.”
“Oh.” Was all Park Jimin could mutter before he chugged down the water without a break.
Jiwoo pursed her lips and clenched her fists. The truth was, Taemin was here right after news of Jimin's faint incident went around. He refused to enter the room but he stood rigid in that one spot by the door. Glancing inside through the window shutters.
He stayed fifteen minutes more after the doctor said that Jimin was okay before leaving. Jiwoo knew it was wrong of her to lie to Jimin about it but the girl just wanted to know what was going on.
“So how long have you two been dating?” Jiwoo asked out of the blue, nearly choking Jimin.
“W-what?! How did you—”
“I didn't,” Jiwoo smirked. “But you just confirmed it.”
Jimin let out a nervous laugh and played with the glass on his lap. Jiwoo watched Jimin's expression shift to one of a blush then to sudden sadness. Jiwoo had known Jimin for years, she knew how to decipher and read him.
“I must say you were good at hiding it but I had my suspicions for a while,” She patted his knee atop the blanket. “But then you two suddenly drifted apart as if overnight which left me questioning.”
Jimin sighed and smiled. “I'm sorry for not tell you or the others, we wanted to keep it a secret for a bit because we were going steady. You know I don't like hiding things from you.”
Jiwoo nodded. “I know, kiddo. I know. And actually, Taemin was here about an hour ago.”
The rest of the crew came over during visiting hours. Jimin was asked to stay at the hospital overnight just in case then he'll be free to go home, tomorrow. From all the questioning gazes, he knew it was time to tell everyone what was going on. Despite not having Taemin by his side.
They all listened without interrupting except for the part where Jiwoo growled at the mention of Somin and Hobi. _A literal growl,_ that Hwasa had to pat her shoulder to calm her down. After spilling the beans about his shameful efforts in trying to get back together with Taemin.
Hwasa nodded silently, allowing everything to sink in before she took a step closer to the bed. In a swift movement, Hwasa was able to smack Jimin at the back of his neck, hard. The boy lurched forward on impact and was about to protest when Hwasa cut him off.
“Jimin, you've been a little brother to me since forever. Gosh, I can't even remember how long you've been apart of our family,” Hwasa shook her head, trying to calm herself but it was difficult with her urge of wanting to reprimand Jimin. “We're family, you shouldn't hide things like this from us. Okay, I'd understand why you hid it from Namjoon and the rest of the gang. But Jiwoo and I?”
Jimin couldn't look Hwasa in the eye and averted his gaze to his lap. Hurting Hwasa and Jiwoo was the last thing on his mind.
“I don't understand why you felt the need to keep it away from us but that also means you truly love Taemin that you decided to follow his condition. You've been with Somin for years but you never acted the way you do with Taemin. I admire you for not giving up on him.”
“Thank you,” Jimin didn't fight away the smile that bloomed across his face. He looked at Hwasa, all smiley only to earn another clap to the neck but this one softer.
“Fighting for what you love is the right thing to do, but don't lose yourself in it at the same time,” Hwasa sighs and shakes her head, smiling down at Jimin softly. “Take some time to recover, come up with something that Taemin loves and show him how much you need him in your life.”
Jimin nods but his jaw slackens in defeat. “I know, noona. But I've tried everything so far and I don't know why else to do.”
“Not everything.” She quipped in.
“Huh?”
“What had Taemin loved more than anything, even before you could join the club?” Hwasa spoke, asking the question as if she was asking herself.
Jimin blinked, confused and distorted by medication but something in him clicked and his eyes lit up. “Oh! Dance!”
“That's right. Express everything you have in a form of a dance to him. Now's your chance, Jimin.”

Jimin ran into the changing rooms the second his shift was over and they began to close up the club. The others were working on distracting Taemin and keeping him around just long enough until Jimin could get up on stage. It's been a week nice he got discharged from the hospital, and has been in the dance practice room nonstop.
The idea that Hwasa presented was just too perfect to be true. He knew Taemin wouldn't be able to reject him afterwards. Changing into the outfit he bought specifically for this routine, Jimin ran out and backstage in the next five minutes.
Kai and Ryujin were able to occupy Taemin, keeping him right in front of the stage as they spoke to him about anything and everything. Jimin peeked his head out to see the boy before gulping. He glanced over his shoulder to where Yeji and Jennie controlled the sound, the two gave him a thumbs up.
Lisa and Taeyong were in charge of the lights, overhead and Jimin was wondering if they could even focus before getting into another argument was pineapple on pizza. Namjoon, Hwasa, Jiwoo by the bar counter and watched down from the balcony like proud parents.
Jimin gave Yeji a signal which she returned to Lisa over the phone speaker. Suddenly the lighters were turned down low, blaring at one circular spot on stage. This had gotten Taemin's attention who looked on curiously as to what was happening. Kai and Ryujin backed up and faded into the dark, returning next to Hwasa and the others.
Jimin walked out on stage as soon as Jennie hit the music button, the heavy breathing echoing through the speaker's as Red Lights begun to play. Adorned in a a black, skin tight suit with pearls attached in a design by his arms and across his chest, Jimin moved smoothly into the light.
Taemin's eyes wavered at the sight of him but his body gestures nor facial expression gave away nothing else. And Jimin was going to change that very soon. He danced to the first half, coming in towards Taemin as much as he could.
It was a sensual choreography that Jimin didn't waste much time on. And sliding towards Taemin on his knees at the end of the pre-chorus, Jimin touched his forefinger from the boy's temple and dragged it slowly down to his chin. Mouthing the words to the start of the chorus, Jimin seductively brought Taemin's lips a mere inch from his own before backing away and continuing the dance.
Jimin caught sight of the way Taemin's Adam Apple bobbed and something in him sparked with hope that he was gonna break this cold barrier that Taemin out up between them. Finishing off with a wink in his direction, the lights flickered back to the club a minute later.
Taemin and Jimin stared at each other and just when Jimin believed it had worked, the older shifted on his feet and began to walk towards the bar counter. He dug into the depths of his pocket to retrieve a small sliver key.
“I quit.” Taemin said to Namjoon, handing the key to the club's dance practice room before turning around and walking out.
Everyone was shook, especially Jimin who stayed on stage panting with tears prickling the corners of his eyes. They all had a silver key to the dance practice room in their possession and it practically symbolised their connection and being part of the family in the club. And giving it back was a big deal.
Taemin stumbled out, the palm of his hand pressed against his mouth as he resisted the urge to throw up his late dinner. The same feeling of disgust and dirtiness came back to him that even tagging down a taxi was a bit of a struggle.
The day he heard about Jimin collapsing and being admitted to hospital made Taemin feel scared. Made him want to forgive Jimin so he wouldn't deteriorate his health. But tonight, Jimin made him feel more of a rebound than anything else.
