Character Design
Now I don't mean drawings. Though that could be help with some parts of it. When plotting out your characters you want to have everything planned out. Height, weight, shoe size, fears, likes and such are very important, it allows you to know what your character is like and how their relationship is like with other characters. I filled out a chart that helps with this, this is for my Danny Phantom OC Madison Carson. Also if you are wondering about shoe size, it can be important. Look at Cinderella, her whole story depends on her small feet.

Backstory: went to Colorado to visit her cousins, who introduced her to her love interest, Chase Spencer. When she left she stayed in touch but soon lost contact. When she went to visit him again she was hit by a speeding car, sending her to the hospital. After an incident with Vlad Masters she was in quarantine for six months until Daniel Fenton found both her and Chase underneath the Master's household. During their stay they developed ghost-like abilities.
A list like this can help you organize character development and make it so that your character won't have an attitude flip flop, making your story stable. This also allows you to be able to make different scenarios, like a girl who is dwarven short being teased by a 6 foot male. It gives contrast and personality to each of your characters. It also points out their flaws, making them more relatable.
