10b More to know
That night Fiona called an all heads, apart from David, Grove Road residents meeting. Fiona informed the rest of the lads of her chat with David and the topic of their discussion. They all listened intently eating the better biscuits.
Dan broke the silence first. "It's because he is super loaded that she is digging her claws in so much."
"Shut up Deadly he doesn't like anyone to know." Richard rolled his eyes.
"Hold the front door." Fiona said." What is this?" She knew they were keeping some gem of information to themselves.
"Boston's dad moved to Boston and studied at MIT invented something to do with computers. He made multi-millions and when he died it all went into Trust for Boston. Poor old David, his dad died when he was 17 and he had to shoulder all the business responsibility - did a good job too by all accounts as his mum fell apart." Richard shook his head as he spoke "His dad was Welsh which is why his mum wanted him to come to Wales to study. His dad had a long illness which is why he eventually wanted to do medicine. He was going to go into the business big style groomed from an early age. Had a really posh girlfriend who he was engaged to. Some kind of East Coast well connected Princess. Sad really they seemed a really nice family. Hells bells Ninj you should see their family place on the coast in Bedgellet Wales. Gorgeous."
"Their place in Boston is out of this world." Emlyn chipped in.
Now the boys had let the cat out of the bag they showed Fiona the photos of David's houses on their trips. She laughed at the photographs of them all in various drunken states.
"So you think she has copped on to this?" asked Fiona.
They all shrugged at each other.
"One of us has to say something!" Bill chimed in. "I am his best mate - it should be me. It's all my fault I have been neglecting him and then he goes and throws himself at the first serious woman he meets. Stupid fecker!"
"I would advise against that." Fiona interjected "When I started seeing Paul a few of my friends tried to warn me off." she sighed, "In hindsight, I wished that I had taken the advice but at the time it just stiffened my resolve to see him. I was so besotted I couldn't see how bad he was for me. Then of course what I did was stop seeing my friends, which meant stupidly I lost friends over a guy."
The Grove Road housemates all looked for answers in the bottom of their teacups.
Then Dan shot up and startled them all. "When is Thanksgiving?"
Fiona shrugged, "I have no idea why?"
"This calls for a night out with Reece. Deadly give him a call."
'Reece?" she asked. The whole kitchen of men just sat smugly staring at her.
The kitchen was then filled with the tales of Reece Thomas who was a Welsh legend. He currently presented the surfing show in Welsh Channel 4. He was a one-man party who was a professional surfer in the summer and a snowboarder in the winter. He had a body like a Greek god and a face to match. Sun blonde for most of the year and tanned.
The date was set around Thanksgiving the last Thursday in November and they booked out the top floor of Sports Cafe on Pall Mall. Fiona discovered that they always threw a huge Thanksgiving night, watched American Football and generally made sure that David wasn't too homesick. The Grove Road team swung into action inviting all and sundry. All the London Welsh four squads, all of the medics, Fiona placed flyers up in the Hospital Bar. Suzie declined the invite as she was going away on a course for the long weekend.
The night before Fiona was sat on the Hall floor chatting to Heather on the phone. She could hear a commotion at the front door, "Hang on Heather I need to get the door." she opened the door to a full set of highly intoxicated flatmates plus a six foot four greek God.
"Reece this is Ninj!" shouted Bill tripping over the door.
"Ninj great to meet you heard loads from these reprobates about you!" Reece stuck out his hand and pulled Fiona in for a kiss.
"Likewise." Fiona grinned at him and watched as the group descended on the kitchen foraging in the takeaway bags they had brought in.
"Heather, I have just seen Michelangelo's David in person, Jeeeso, the boys told me Reece was good looking but hells bells mate they have for once not exaggerated in the slightest." Fiona whispered into the phone, "Better go, cos Lord knows what chaos they are causing in there."
"Nooooo!" shouted a very drunk Bill, "I want to talk to her." he grabbed the phone from Fiona whilst she tried to stifle giggles at him acting so love struck. " Go away, woman, whilst I whisper sweet words of love to this vixen!"
Dan came out of the kitchen looking for her and motioned for Fiona to go in. The lads had brought back a kebab for her.
"Chicken Shish you boys are the best! So tell me what is the master plan for tomorrow you bunch of geniuses?" Fiona watched as they all broke into their takeaways.
"Go there, get pissed have a great night and try to get Boston off with some slut so that Suzie will chuck him!" Richard said through mouthfuls.
"She has his cock in a vice you know." said Emlyn " We met him for a pint in the Sporting Page tonight, she paged him three times in two hours. He had to be home by ten and no more than four pints!"
"I will bet that you all spiked the poor bugger's drinks, didn't you? I bet he was wankered and you let him go about eleven." Fiona asked however she knew her prediction was spot on.
"Mind reader!" Bill hugged her "You wouldn't do that to a guy would you?"
"What get him pissed on purpose and send him home to his uptight girlfriend or page him three times in two hours when he was out with his mates. Did Heather hang up on you?"
"Nope, she is calling me later for some phone sex." he sat down triumphantly and inhaled his take away.
"Latter not the former." said Emlyn in between mouthfuls of kebab egging Fiona on for an answer.
"Two-way street that interrupting a night out." Fiona explained, "I am always of the mind that if you go out without your 'partner' then you go out. If you can't trust them then don't be with them. I never ever followed Paul and he tried to accidentally bump into me once or twice when we first met. I gave him hell, if I am out with my mates then I am out."
"Good woman, I can't stand the clingy types!" Reece winked at Fiona, her stomach did a little backflip.
The door bell rang and then the door started to bang loudly.
"I will get it shall I?" sighed Fiona rising from the table. She answered the door to find a furious looking Suzie and a sheepish David swaying on the railings.
"Do you think you are funny?" shouted Suzie at Fiona.
"What....?" Fiona started to reply.
"Don't try that with me you slut, look at the state of him, did you think it would be funny to send him back to me in this state!" Suzie ranted at her.
The shouts bringing the rest of the group from the kitchen. Fiona's mouth hung open.
"You can't cope with him being with me, preferring me to you. So what you do is you get him in this state. Do you know he threw up in my neighbour's garden, THREW UP I TELL YOU!" Suzie spat the words at her.
Reece was doubled up laughing behind Fiona. David swayed at the bottom step and looked like he might throw up again.
"Daaaarlings," Jilly appeared at the doorstep, "whilst this is as entertaining as Eastenders, it is putting my gentleman friend off of his stroke......Boston ..is this your 'bird'?" Jilly spat the word bird out as though it was a dirty word.
"Who is this old crone?" demanded Suzie, hands on hip, "Is she in on this as well, is this another one of your many conquests David??"
David looked sheepishly at Jilly mouthing an apology and Jilly winked at David.
"Yes love, I taught him all he knows, now fuck off, off of my doorstep. Who do you think you are coming here and shouting like a fishwife in the street. I warn you off here now, if you are not gone in ten seconds you will regret it!"
Jilly then disappeared into her flat shrieking with laughter.
Suzie collected herself and hissed at Fiona. "You take care of him tonight, he is always full of how good you are at looking after him so here!"
She grabbed David and shoved him towards Fiona. He was so unsteady on his feet that he fell heavily on top of her. At the exact same moment, Jilly set her flower-box hose on Suzie and let her have it. The housemates pulled Fiona and David into the hall and shut the heavy door on Suzie's face. They could hear Suzie trying to shout at Jilly, however, Jilly had the hose on full now soaking Suzie with one hand and smoking a cigarette in the other.
"Oh, Ninj I am so sorry!" David apologised for the tenth time that night, he sat with her in the front room sofa picking at the remains of the take away wearing Bill's towelling dressing gown. "She wouldn't believe you weren't there, she really, really doesn't like you for some reason."
"It's cos she has really small tits" chimed in Reece "whilst yours are...."
"Like car air bags." interrupted Fiona "at least that's what soften the blow for Boston when he landed full force on me."
Fiona rubbed her boobs and felt the pain, it was definitely going to hurt in the morning and not in a good way.
Reece looked at her and laughed. "You trying to turn me on Ninj, I could rub them better and check for bruises in the morning."
"Reece I have been called out for my promiscuous nature by the scorned woman on the doorstep tonight. I certainly have the name for it but sadly not the pleasure."Fiona watched as David shot a furious look at Reece.
"Want the pleasure..." he asked moving closer to her on the couch running his hand up and down her thigh.
"Reece!" Bill, Dan and Emlyn shouted together.
"It's like you are hitting on our little sister." explained Richard rooting around in the bottom of a chip wrapper for the last remaining chip.
"Ohh I get it, you are all in for the long play and the stakes are getting higher. You know Ninj currently you are fetching £750, tickets to England v Wales and a Wimbledon Men's Final!" smiled Reece as he threw himself on the floor and stretched out on the front room rug. "OK don't fall for any of this love, they all want a bit, however, be careful they are all filthy, especially him!" Reece pointed his foot at David.
"Man I have an irate girlfriend to sort out, one woman at a time!" David groaned drinking an Alka Seltzer.
"I am off to bed," sighed Fiona, "too much emotion for one day!"
"Can I keep you warm?" asked Reece saucily. He normally didn't have to ask twice.
"No thank you, I have a hot water bottle and a Brad Pitt poster for both." she laughed.
"You will regret it!" he shouted after her.
"I know!" she called after him.
After Fiona was safely out of earshot Reece turned to David.
"What are you doing with that Suzie woman? She is pretty for sure but she is a ball breaker, you masochistic or something? You could have that!" Reece pointed towards Fiona's room, "You are going to have to explain this to me slowly so I keep up."
"Reece, Suzie is great, she just doesn't like my former life, friends you know," he gestured to the house, "she has made me think about growing up and responsibility.
"You have the rest of your life for that mate, we are still young and we will be a long time old."
"True bud, but what about being the oldest swinger in town? I mean there has to be a point when that is as bad?" David asked looking for reassurance.
"Boston, you worry too much." Reece stood up making his way to the spare room, "Sorry forgot, do you want your old room and I will sleep on the couch? Cos, either way, I don't mind."
"Its ok, I will sleep here, if I am next door to Fiona tonight I think it will make Suzie's mood tomorrow blacker." he laughed.
"I will be a wall away from banging that cracker though, mate if I had the option I know which one I would want."
The next day David left early to make amends with Suzie before she went on her course. They all went to work and left Reece at home. Plans were made to meet at the venue. Reece set to making sure everything was perfect at the Sports Cafe.
