A/N: hey so don't get mad because I'm pissed too, but Wattpad erased more than half of the original 23rd chapter of this book, so I'm forced to redo it. If you managed to read the bonus chapter then, congrats! If you didn't, well no worries because I'll make sure that it ties together and makes sense. I'm so so sorry, my life hasn't been great for the past few months, I've recovered from heartbreak, gone through rough school times, put up with idiotic humans, and bit my tongue when things on my mind needed to be said. I'm very on edge all the time so I haven't been working on anything except art. I'm sorry. Anyway, on with the story.

He stood in front of Lucy's front door, hand in a fist to knock on the door. Was he ready to get Lucy back? Was he worthy? Did he care? He always had questions but never answered them, as if his own conscious was yelling, "Just do it ya pussy!" So feeling defeated by his own thoughts, Natsu knocked on the door and waited. It seemed like forever. Open the damn door. Natsu almost walked away after a minute or two, but he heard pounding footsteps that rushed to the door and a lock click before the door swung open. There stood her. Lucy. Lucille Heartfilia. If this were a romance movie, he'd be asking no questions and sweep her off the ground, kissing her soft lips that he'd craved since the last time they touched his. Electricity courses through his veins as he tried to think of something to say, yet Lucy beat him to it. "Hey, it's been a while." It was awkward but less awkward than silence. "Um, yeah. I came to talk to you. About... stuff." Lucy closed the door a little bit to tilt her head back inside, whispering to someone and then turning back to Natsu. "Uh, sure. Why don't we go someplace private?" Lucy asked. Natsu nodded and chuckled nervously as he replied, "Yeah, I can drive us to a park or something." Lucy smiled and put her finger up to say she needed a moment before rushing inside. He could hear a different girl's giggle as he heard Lucy run up the stairs. Moments later, Lucy came back with a cropped jacket and sneakers, her glasses in her face reflecting light that seemed to be the glitter of her eyes. "Ready?" Natsu asked. Lucy smiled in a yes motion and walked down the steps of her house to Natsu's car. Natsu followed behind but paused as he heard a "Bye!" From behind him. He turned to see the little bitty Levy who waved to her best friend in farewell. He turned back around to see Lucy wave back and he continued to his car.

The drive to the park was silent, but once they got there, Lucy stayed in the car. "Do you want to go out there?" Natsu asked. He was nervous and he didn't know why, maybe because he was scared of rejection. "No, stay in here." Lucy fiddled with her fingers. Was she nervous too? Why though? Her demeanor didn't match up with her face, which was a small smile and soft eyes that seemed lost in thought. Natsu sighed and decided to speak first.

"So, do you remember when we were innocent--"

"We weren't innocent. Stop being cliche." Lucy cut in, giggling. Natsu turned his head in embarrassment and swallowed. "Fine, do you remember Lily?" Lucy nodded slowly, listening and waiting for him to finish. "Well, we aren't-- We aren't together anymore." Lucy very slightly straightened herself. "And, if I remember correctly... You said that you'd rather me be in a relationship with someone who catches my eye so you wouldn't be disappointed," Natsu smiled. "So here I am." Lucy didn't answer, and it scared Natsu, causing questions to flood his brain. Stay calm, stay calm, it's okay. She isn't over you. Natsu reassured himself, but a twinge of distrust itched at him. Lucy giggled softly. "I thought you were a fuck boy, Natsu," he heard Lucy sniff, and she wiped her face quietly. "I hate you, you know that right?" Natsu's heart sank what did this mean? It was done, over with, he wasted his time. He wasted his every breath getting to her for nothing. "What do you mean-- I thought you were going to wait for me." Lucy looked up, tears streaming down her face.

"I did."
