~○●○~

Normal people greet each other with a chirpy or maybe a grumpy "Good morning". But the sharma brothers aren't normal people. They start their morning by cursing at each other. Well, it's mostly the older sharma cursing at the younger one while the younger one curses his brother in his head.

"What the fuck are you doing?" A very angry Sanjay yells at his younger brother.

"Fuck, bhaiya! You scared the shit out of me." Kairav exclaims dramatically, placing his hand on his chest at the sudden outburst of his lovely brother.

While it seems like they are tired of each other by their yellings. It's not the case, fortunately. They have only one another to call their own in this world after the untimely death of their parents. They have always been inseparable but that doesn't mean they won't be annoyed at one another. Most of the time it's Sanjay getting annoyed at the laziness of his little brother.

However, they are always there for one another. More like Sanjay is always there for Kairav because Kairav is always busy being lazy.

"Who gave you the right to curse in my household and what are you doing?" Sanjay smacks Kairav's head quite hard.

The younger one just rolls his eyes, being used to this kind of treatment.

"Are you blind, bhai? Can't you see I'm eating? Also, you are the one who cursed first. Now, if you set bad examples, kids will follow, right?" The younger one argues which earns him another smack.

"Yaar, I forgot it's a crime to say the right thing in this household." Kairav curses under his breath but his brother catches it.

"Please, bhai. I'm already dumb. Don't damage my brain anymore." Kairav pleads before his brother can hit him again.

The older one huffs while the younger one goes back to eating when his brother really holds back from beating him.

"You are eating with your hand, you idiot." Sanjay points out, Kairav just looks at him confusingly.

"So? You want me to eat with my leg?" Kairav Shows his bare feet to his older brother as he speaks.

Sanjay can't help but smack him again but this time he hits his shoulder. His brother will never change. He will always be the odd one, the gross one.

"Who the hell in the world eats noodles with hands? Disgusting! Can't you use a fork or at least a spoon?!" Sanjay yells in frustration. He refused to believe that he had raised this gross creature.

Kairav flashes a pair of chopsticks in front of his brother to save himself from an incoming lecture.

"I tried eating with these things. You know, to get the authentic feel but-"

"But of course you don't know how to use chopsticks. Your lazy ass can hardly hold a spoon. I will cry a river in happiness the day you can hold chopsticks." Sanjay mocks while Kairav makes a sad face.

"Do you get an award for yelling at me early in the morning, bhaiya? Can I eat some real food instead of your insults? I'm hungry."

"If you can't use the chopsticks, why didn't you bring a fork, you idiot?" Sanjay asks, already knowing what his brother will answer.

"But I already had to walk to bring those chopsticks. I didn't want to walk again to grab a fork. Also it's in our culture to eat with our hands. What's with you insulting our own culture? Che che, shame on you." Kairav says, shaking his head.

"The kitchen is literally 10 steps away. You have long legs like bamboo for God's sake, use them. If you use those lazy legs of yours instead of running your mouth, you may do something in life rather than living like a sack of potatoes." Sanjay scolds before going to the kitchen to grab a fork.

"While you are at it, can you grab me a glass of water? I'm thirsty." Kairav smiles innocently at his brother though he knows he is getting on the nerves of his brother.

This is Kairav Sharma. He belongs to the group of people who feel tired even when they just breathe, he's the person who feels like he has worked hard even when he sleeps. Sanjay is worried about his laziness.

"Why don't you choke on those noodles instead?" Sanjay yells from the kitchen.

"Wow. You really want your baby brother to die this way? Did you know dying by choking is the most painful way to die?" Kairav fakes concern on his face, it's fun messing with his brother to the point when he gets hit by his brother's sandals.

"And who said that?" Sanjay asks as he gives Kairav a fork and a glass of water.

Kairav just smiles at his brother. Even though he shows his annoyance all the time, he is always good to Kairav. Kairav couldn't have asked for a better brother. If only kairav weren't a brat.

"A psychology genius from a Facebook group called "psychology facts for the freaks."

"That explains." Sanjay mutters, unimpressed.

Sanjay takes a seat beside Kairav on the bed. Kairav brings a forkful of noodles which Sanjay eats without saying anything.

"You can't even eat on your own. What will happen to you without me?" Sanjay chuckles at the ironic remark. Kairav knows how reverse the situation is so he joins his bhaiya in laughing.

"Next time, you can cook then. I will feed myself."

"You want to burn down the whole house?" Sanjay shakes his head, realizing that Kairav is a disaster in the kitchen.

Surprisingly, they finished the rest of the breakfast in silence. Maybe Kairav is tired of talking, otherwise he talks Sanjay's ears off every morning. For once, Sanjay is glad his brother is tired by doing basically nothing.

"Ahh, thanks for the food though you can level up your cooking. I don't know why people hire you as a cook-" He stops talking nonsense once he notices an angry glare from his brother.

Sanjay wants to yeet his brother out of this world sometimes but unfortunately, he loves his idiotic brother too much to do something like that. Deep down he knows it's his fault that Kairav is this way. He has made that boy a brat. Even when they are poor, he always tries his best to provide Kairav with everything he needs. They lived through terrible plights multiple times. So, he doesn't regret doing things for Kairav. That boy deserves all the good things. But then again, he acts like a brat and makes Sanjay rethink his life choices.

He doesn't mind doing things for his brother. But what will Kairav do if something happens to him? Kairav shouldn't be so dependent on him. No one knows what the future holds. Everyone needs to be prepared for the worst. Sanjay notes to himself that he needs to find ways to make his lazy brother work sometime.

Sanjay looks at his brother lovingly who is too focused on his phone.

"Can you pass me the remote, bhai? I'm bored." Sanjay's smile goes away as soon as Kairav barks out an order, leaving his phone beside him.

"Really, Kai? Do you really want me to kill you? The remote is on the couch. You are literally 5 steps away from there. Can't you get it yourself?"

"Geez. Forget it. I don't mind getting murdered but I don't want my lovely brother to rot in a prison." Kairav flashes a fake toothy smile to his brother and  goes on to use his phone while Sanjay goes to the kitchen to wash the dishes.

Kairav goes through Amazon to look for something and finally he finds it. Sanjay was having back pain for a while now. Kairav had noticed it. His brother is too stubborn and ignorant when it comes to his own health and matter. So, Kairav takes the matter into his own hand and orders a heat pack, a massage cream and a soft back pillow for his brother. He can't believe his brother is getting so old so early. Not only does his brother have the personality of an old soul but also all his diseases are like the ones that old people have.

Kairav earns some money by drawing pictures online. Drawing and painting is just a hobby for him. He is too lazy to make it a profession. Drawing requires patience and time. He is too lazy to invest both on just one thing. But my friend, desperate situations call for desperate measures. He needs money for a situation like this so he, sometimes, forgets his laziness and work. It's hard to believe but true.

Sanjay has gone to work. He works as a cook in his best friend's restaurant. Kairav is alone now. He has no one to bother and it's boring. Today is sunday so he has no college. As he finds nothing to do that requires minimal stamina, he just lays on his bed, thinking of sleeping like a log instead of doing anything at all.

While most kids of his age like to go crazy and party like a wild animal, he likes to stay home. Not because he is introverted. He is anything but a shy introverted person.

True to his words, he stayed on his bed the whole day. He only got up when nature called him twice and his stomach asked for food. He is surprised that he is still thin. Must be the genes! Or else he should have gained 200 pounds by now for the lack of body movement and exercises.

I should fix the toilet here in my bed!Gosh it's so tiring

He thinks to himself. Just when he makes himself comfortable in his bed, nature has to call to ruin the whole mood. Anyway, he is now tired of sleeping. Just on cue, he gets a call from a college friend.

"Ayy, bro! How  are  you?" Kairav asks with fake enthusiasm.

He doesn't understand how people are still friends with him. He literally ghosts people without any reason and reappears in their life with some rotten joke and a tooth rotting sweet smile. He will hate having himself as a friend. Well, at least, he is self-conscious.

Maybe people, especially girls, find him adorable. He may be a lazy piece of shit but none can deny that he is attractive and his innocence makes him adorable as well. Once again, he will have to thank his parents for bestowing him with amazing genes! However, he does have a good character trait. He never quarrels with anyone.

Alright, quarreling requires stamina and he doesn't want to waste that so carelessly.

"Assignment?What's that? Due tomorrow?"
Kairav's mouth is wide open right now. He totally forgot about the assignments that professor Khan gave them.

Shit! What should I do now? He will literally kill me this time. I can't come up with more excuses for not submitting assignments! Last time was the final straw!

Kairav thinks for a while and finally an idea hits his mind. People are correct when they say that a lazy mind is a genius mind.

"Taaaaaani, my dear friend!" Kairav makes sure to sound extra stressful.

"Why do you sound like you are being chased by a mad dog? What's the matter?" Tani enquiries, not sounding serious. Seems like his trick didn't work.

"Because I'm. Professor Khan will have my "khoon" on his hand very soon." Kairav says, he is panicking for real this time.

"Good. That man is finally doing something good for society. I will sharpen a knife and send it to him tomorrow." His best friend replies nonchalantly.

"No one loves me in this world. Am I just a burden to you all-"

"You are, to me, at least. I didn't ask for a drama queen for a best friend. I don't know how I got this unlucky."

"Fine. You don't care about me, just say it! I have this bandage on my hand that's why I called you but you don't care of course. Go and find yourself another best friend."

He isn't making up the whole thing. He tried baking a cake for his brother yesterday. There was no occasion. He just felt productive for the first time in his life. But he almost burned his hand in the process. He just got a scratch. It's nothing a band-aid can't fix. Even life is telling him to stay lazy forever. But he has called her because he doesn't want to do the assignment. It's too much work and he didn't stay at all.

"And how did you burn your hand, mister?" Finally she sounds concerned.

"What should I tell you? I'm sorry but I don't want to burden your highness with my sob story." Kairav can imagine Tani rolling her eyes at that.

"Fine, I will do your shit. But you do realize that I'm dumber than you? I got held back once in school."

"It's hard to admit it but you are a little bit smart now."

"Now tell me what the fuck you did to have a bandage around your hand?"

He ends up telling her the whole story with some exaggeration to make it sound like he is too injured when it is minor. Well, at least, she fell for it. His job here is done. Now, he can go back to sleep. It was a very tiring day indeed.

A/N: Hope this chapter was alright. Don't try to get too annoyed by his laziness lol. People like him do exist.
