A Lot of Turns Should Do It

That night at dinner, a sudden thought raced across my head. It was an idea, and a really good one.

"I've got it!" I exclaimed.

"Sit down!" Rose yelled at me.

Funny. I didn't even notice that I stood up.

"No! Rose- I got it! I know how to get home!"

Everybody was all ears now.

"Okay- so, the only way to go to the past is with a time turner. And you turn it one way, right? So what if when dad and Uncle Ron come here to get us, we turn the time turner the other way?

"We should turn it 9,861 times the other way," I stated, doing the math in my head real quick.

"We came back twenty seven years- so there's six leap years and twenty one non-leap years.... Aunt Hermione- do you still have your time turner?"

"Yes- I have it here-" I interrupted her by thanking her.

"Alright. I'm going to go one hour back, okay?"

Before they could protest, I turned the time turner once.

Suddenly, I was in the same spot that I was in before. There was nobody in the room with me. No plates or food on the table...

I had gone back one hour.

I put the time turner around my neck one more time, and turned it once the other way.

The sudden feeling of being squished to pieces erupted through my veins. Before I knew it, I was back in the same spot as before. The only change was that there was food on the table and people were awaiting my arrival.

"Al!" Lily exclaimed.

"It worked! Lily, it worked! I know how to get us home!"

I find how they could be able to get home to be a very original idea, so I would hope that in the future nobody will steal it.

More importantly:

My heart goes out to everybody in France. I am French myself, and even though I live in the American Midwest (hell yeah Northern Illinois), I find that I stand with France. Not literally because I don't think land can stand.

When 9/11 happened, the French said they were American.

Now I would like to say that right now, I am more French than I was before.
