A sudden offer

Making his way through multiple different shortcuts of the city, it wasn't surprising that while to took only 15 minutes to get to his destination, the average city goer would take double the time in the same distance from the huge crowds of people in the main streets.

Finally reaching the school, he couldn't help but look at it with wonder. While it was not Beacon, any sort of school focusing on training children could still look great to the average joe.

Walking into the building, he was almost immediately tackled by two large objects.

"Big bro!"(Joel and Noel)

" *muffled* Guys, I love you too but you're getting too old for this stuff. You're supposed to be graduating this year."(John)

The two thankfully got off of him and let him back up.

"I just hope that this sort of speed and strength translates into the battlefield well."(John)

"Ahem"(???)

John looked up to see his siblings' professor. She looked exhausted from a long day with her red hair being put in a messy bun and one of the lenses cracked. Probably from one of her many students.

"Mr. Arkwright, right?"(???)

"Ah, y-yes. That's me."

"Could I have a word with you in concern about their future education?"(Professor)

He then turned to look at Joel and Noel and gave them a nod to wait outside which they quickly did. leaving the two alone in the classroom with children's cheers every so often heard in the many hallways of the school.

"Mr. Arkwright. Your brother and sister are certainly one of a kind. Their combat ability along with their teamwork shows serious potential. Noel has consistently proven that she's the fastest of her class with her semblance. With the addition of her katana, she's our top student."

John's jaw dropped to the floor when she finished.

"T-top of the class!?!? I had a feeling that they'd get something close to my semblance and get some advantage but I didn't think Noel had it in her! She always seemed too gentle for this sort of thing."

"I-I don't know what to say...I wasn't expecting her to excel this much."

"This leads me to your brother. Joel Arkwright while not able to keep up with his sister in terms of speed, he certainly makes up for it with his strength. He's shown many times over that he can overpower his fellow students. While he isn't the top of the class he's the third-best in the class."

John's jaw dropped not only through the floor but it this time, it broke through the floorboards.

"Holy shit I've got a pair of powerhouses in my house?!"

"W-well it certainly seems I've gotten the short end of the stick here genes wise."

"Mr. Arkwright, I would like to recommend the two of them to the elementary Beacon Academy for talented young individuals."

John at this point was flabbergasted. Never in his wildest dreams would he have thought that his brother and sister would have the potential to get into the best school for huntsmen/huntresses in all of remnant!

"I..I...I..what?"(John)

"I understand that you are the sole guardian for these children but I must ask, just who on earth were your parents?"

Upon the mention of their parents, John brought himself back to reality. His initial face of utter shock changed to a more serious and mature face. As though it were a huge effort to speak of the matter. He loosened his tie and stared directly at her.

"They...aren't important. I'm just overjoyed that my brother and sister are capable of getting into such a prestigious academy such as Beacon, but I've never heard of this elementary version for Beacon. I thought they were for young adults. They hardly qualify for that."

The professor quickly fixed her glasses out of embarrassment of accidentally bringing up a touchy subject.

"I apologize if I struck a nerve there. Curiosity gets the better of me sometimes. But this program is to be put in place as of this year. It's experimental to see if Beacon academy teaches at an earlier level to further help increase the skill level of huntsmen and huntresses."

"Well, I'd love to put them into this program but what's the catch?"

John wasn't born yesterday. This all seemed way too good to be true. His gaze toward the professor practically spoke 'there's no way this is true' right at her.

"The catch is the price. 20,000 Lien per student per year."

John nearly fell out of his seat just from the price tag alone.

"WHAT!"

"Calm down Mr. Arkwright. I'm not finished yet. Given the exceptional talent that both of your siblings have shown if you pay just this year's fee, they will be allowed to continue to be educated until their graduation as huntsmen/huntresses."

Thoughts whirled around his head as to what he'd do. Such as: "Maybe I could cut back on a few things." or "I'm going to have to go for bigger fish next time around" but the thought that held in his mind the strongest was this: "I want the two of them to get the opportunity to succeed where I didn't."

John suddenly stood up from his chair and walked up to the professor and for the first time in a long time, he was determined to do his best.

"Ma'am. I'd like to sign Noel and Joel up for this program."

While she was taken aback by his personality change, she gave a small smile and adjusted her glasses before responding.

"Understood Mr. Arkwright. I'll get to work on the paperwork at once. Their orientation will take place one week from now. Payment will be expected by the end of the school year."

"Right. Thank you very much!"

John was practically brimming with joy and pride in his siblings'accomplishments when he almost ran out the door.

Running up to them, he scooped them up and propped them on his shoulders while walking out the building much to their happiness.

"I understand that I've got two little powerhouses living under my roof now. Here I thought I'd have little workers helping me out at the bakery but I don't think that's the case anymore..."

Both Joel and Noel's eyes starting widening with their hopes being raised to the stars.

"The two of you are going to Beacon!"

"NOWAYBIGBROTHATSAWESOMEHOWAREYOUGOINGTOPAYFORALLTHATOHGEEZTHIS ISAMAZING!!"(Joel and Noel)

The two of them repeated at the same time. If John was any less joyful, he would've been confused as to how they said the same thing at the same time, but it was ignored in the heat of the moment.

"This calls for a celebration! We're stopping at the convenience store before we get home!"(John)

All the while, a group of girls watched him attentively.
