When Skylar came back with the tea she looked at Ds Shields and his colleagues nervously and sat down.

Ds Shields and his colleague thanked her for the tea and got down to business.

"So Skylar.. My colleague here will be taking notes in his notepad and we need as much information as possible about your involvement with Lyle Chambers."

She nodded. "Of course.. anything to help you boys with your investigation."

He smiled. "So When did you first meet Lyle?."

Skylar cast her mind back smiling. "Back in our University College.. Him and Colleen who was my best friend at the time was dating."

Ds Shields nodded. "Was there any problems?..difficulties between them?."

Skylar nodded. "Yeah.. let's just say that relationship was doomed from the start.. More fool her for having a baby with him."

DS Shields sipped his tea slowly. "Okay.. What happened exactly?."

Skylar frowned. "I'm not exactly sure.. I know something kicked off though because Colleen had stood up and told everyone that he had raped her in our lecture but I later discovered it was not true and they eventually made up."

DS Shields smiled friendly. "I see.. and how did you get involved with him during present day?."

Skylar shrugged. "It all happened so fast.. He was having problems with his wife..Colleen told me he was acting like a jerk but didn't tell me what was going on and well I kinda knew Lyle was a mess."

Ds Shields frowned. "How so?."

Skylar bit her lip. "He uh.. kinda slept with me.. I fell in love with him and after Colleen threw him out we got together.. We hadn't been together very long up to the point he went missing."

He touched her hand to comfort her. "Did you have any rows with him about his wife."

Skylar cast her mind back once again and nodded. "Yeah.. The day he went missing."

Ds Shields and his colleague sounded interested now and leaned in to hear her story. "Tell us what happened."

Skylar sighed. "It was the day he went missing.. Colleen was refusing him to let him see his son.. He had enough I could see that and he wanted to cut off all ties with them both."

His colleague shut up his notebook and sipped his tea quickly. As did DS Shields.

DS Shields smiled at her. "That's all for now but we may need to contact you again.. Here is my card if you remember anything."

He gave her his card out of his top pocket and Skylar nodded. "I'll see you out."

She followed him and his colleague out and shut the door behind them blocking off the outside world.
