Colleen sits on the floor of the nursery slumped against the wall watching her son and crying at the same time.

She sits there for some time trying to take it all in.

After a while she gets up and walks to the living room to get her phone off the Coffee table.

She dials a number in the phone. "Lyle I need to see you."

Lyle sighs "Can it wait?.. I'm kinda busy."

Colleen snaps "No it damn well can't wait so get you butt here."

Lyle snaps "Fine.. I'm on my way."

Colleen hangs up the phone and heads into their bedroom. She finds a suitcase in the wardrobe and starts throwing Lyle's stuff in the suitcase.

The clothes did look a little scrunched up but she didn't care. Quite frankly she could've grabbed scissors and cut all his clothes up in pure anger but she had no energy for such things.

When she finished packing the last few shirts of Lyle's, She heard the car door alarm beep and Lyle slamming of front the door.

Lyle came into the house and looks into their room first as it was the closest room to the door.
He frowns "What the heck are you doing."

Barely able to look him in the eye she replied "What does it look like.."

He laughs dryly. "What am I supposed to have done.."

She shakes her head.. "Really?!.. You really think I wouldn't find out?."

He shakes his head in denial. "I don't know what your talking about."

She bites her lip. "Okay then.. How about the fact you've been sleeping with my best friend behind my back."

He laughs "What..Would you have preferred me to have told you and then maybe we could've had a threesome or would you rather have let me cheat openly?."

She gasps in shock. "Your such a jerk you know that?.. Did I really make you that unhappy you had to go and do that to me?."

He shrugs. "I got bored pure and simple."

She throws his suitcase at him. He catches it but stumbles backwards a little bit but then he manages to steady himself.

She walks out the bedroom in a huff and heads back into the living room.

Lyle follows her like a lost puppy. He was sad that she had found out. He still had some sort of feelings for her after all she was the mother of his son but for some reason the same feelings he had all them years ago had gone.

She notices him following her. "What are you still doing here."

He shrugs "I don't know.. I thought you might have been expecting an explanation."

She nodded "Yeah but you have me your explanation..You said you were..
What was it again?.. Oh yeah, Bored!."

He grins "Yeah but you think there's  more to it than that don't you."

She shrugs "Honestly Lyle.. I don't really care anymore."

He sucks his lips. "Okay then you don't know my reasons for doing it. Aside from being bored I mean."

She sighs clearly fed up of this conversation but decided to humour him so it would get rid of him quickly. "Go on.. I'm listening."

He smirks "I slept with her out of revenge."

She frowns "Why?.. What did I possibly do to you?."

He raises his eyebrow. "Think about it.."

She frowns trying to think what he could possibly be angry for then it hits her. "The lecture hall..."

He nodded. "I was never the same after that.. For a while I received text messages from people at the school calling me a rapist and all sorts.. My car even got broken into and they sprayed Rapist on my car."

She shrugs "Why didn't you tell me or tell the police?."

He shrugged "The police never do anything do they?.. As for telling you what good would that do when you were the cause of it all."

She sighed "Lyle the point of a relationship is to be honest and loyal..There's two things you never achieved."

He nodded "There you go then.. I'm not relationship material."

She rolls her eyes at him. "If you felt all this at the time, Why didn't you tell me before I got pregnant?."

He shrugged "What would that have changed?..Nothing."

She looks away from him. "Colleen I still loved you at the time okay.. I was having mixed feelings at the time and I thought rehab might've helped but it didn't."

She nodded. "Yeah you got yourself kicked out of rehab."

He nodded solemnly. "Yeah I did.. Not one of my finest moments, I'll admit."

She scoffs. "Neither was sleeping with my best friend or the way you've acted today."

He nodded. He could neither confirm or deny her allegations. He was aware he was a jerk and a coward, Every name you could think of he was thinking of trust me.

She snaps "You don't even care about me or your son."

He shakes his head "That's not true.."

She nodded "Yes it is.. Look at you Lyle, You can barely make a relationship last 5 minutes before cheating never mind being a father."

He walked to the nursery and looked at his son. He knew what she was saying was true even if he didn't want to admit it. He didn't feel like father material and he didn't think it was fair on his son.

He turns back to his wife. "Your right.. It's not fair on Damien.. I'm sorry."

She smiles sadly. "At last something we can agree on, That's gotta be the honest thing you've ever said."

He walks back to his son and gives him a hug and a kiss. "I'm sorry son.. But this is for the best believe me, You'll only be hurt by the consequences in the future if I stay."

He passes him to his mother and walks out the front door. Colleen follows him out the front door watching as he places his suitcase in the boot.

He opens the driver door of his car and takes one last look at his family and his house.

He drives away from the house for the final time in a long time. He knew he would never be coming back.
