|6- Moon|

The ship settled wedged in between the trees, sunlight creating stripes on the green grass as it sunk lower towards the horizon. All was quiet except the rustling from the wind or the chirp of birds. Along side me stood the group of warriors, each watching and alert, ready to strike if something were to happen. I cast a glance towards Wu, who nodded to his pupils in an allowance to move in. One by one they filed of the ship, pulling masks to cover their faces and eyes narrowing in determination.

I slid down to follow, my bare feet kissing the cold ground as I came to stand just beside Zane. He gave me a sideways glance and murmured something to me, quiet so the others would not hear. "If anything goes awry, fall behind Lloyd."

I nodded, trusting him. I held my ground and kept up with the quick pace they set, slinking into the village where the canine had been seen last. The sun set in a blaze of oranges and reds behind us, moon poking out opposite its setting counterpart. In the village just outside Ninjago City, all was quiet. Soft murmurs of greeting and good bye were said as residents tucked away inside their abodes for the night. In the center of the village lay a wide area dotted with market stalls closed for the night. Every one of us was alert and on edge, waiting to find what we were looking for.

My breath caught in my chest as a flash of silver caught my eye just to our right. Silently on my toes, I spun to face a small house, leaning in close to its neighbors. Unknown to me, the group had continued on, not hearing me stop or bothering to check.

My pupils flared as my eyes met those of wild red, tucked in the skull of a metallic beast. Wildly bulky and teeth bared, the creature was large, just up past my hips. I lowered myself to a crouch, daring to hold out a hand. The canine growled, low and fake in some fashion. It's teeth practically glowed and shone as the moon rose behind me. A gasp escaped my lips a voice rose to my ears.

"What do you think you're doing?"

Startled, I fell backwards and landed in a sit. A glance to my right revealed Lloyd and his team who held the creature at weapon's length. My eyes found Cole, who slid into my view just behind the machine.

"I was observing the creature in question." I nodded towards the wolf dog before meeting Lloyd's eyes which glowed green with anger.

"Well you could have been killed." He pulled me up by my arm and pushed me behind him, taking a step towards our foe, sword drawn. Jay patted my arm in sympathy and I only frowned, unaffected by his friends harsh words.

"Jay, do you think you could shock it?"

"Well yeah, duh." From beside me, Jay stepped forward and sent a bolt of pure white energy at the creature, which seized in response and fell to the ground, limp.

My eyes narrowed as my gaze rose to watch the stars peek from behind the fading clouds in the sky. I took a step closer towards the group, who had gathered around the creature of metal, amazed and wide eyed. Running a hand over its head I hummed softly, eyes falling shut and not seeing as Lloyd turned to watch me with careful eyes.

As my song came to a close, I sat back, cross legged as the creature rose. His eyes had turned from a wild crimson to a soft purple, matching the likes of my own. I huffed a deep breath, rubbing my face with a hand as Jay went wild, understanding what I had just done. The mechanical dog's tail wagged vehemently, smacking with a metallic clank again Zane's leg. My head was light and throbbed behind my eyes, but I held my head high to meet the wild gazes that came my way.

Zane turned to Jay and cut off his incoherent rambling with a word as the wolf dog yapped a processed sounding greeting. "You seem to have some form of knowledge of what just happened, Jay."

I spoke up, butting in before Jay could begin again. "I am part Oni. As my mother has the power to change her own form, so I also have something similar, that of changing certain things around me." My eyes fell to my hands out of habit.

"She did it the other day with tea leaves! It was sosupercoolohmygosh-" Jay jabbered, his voice an octave higher.

"That's what you were doing..." Lloyd muttered at my side and turned to me with wide eyes. I blinked, meeting his gaze and gave a tentative smile.

"Though of course, I may have been killed." Slowly, I stood, legs wobbly beneath me as the canine stood, allowing me to lean on his cool frame as we went back to the ship.

The ship waved and was tossed about by the choppy sea beneath her. The stars twinkled far above my head, shining bright down along side the waning moon. The silver light offset the colors one would see during the day, tracing every with a tinge of white. The wolfdog was being held down below deck where Zane, Nya, and Jay worked to crack its coding to better understand how and why it worked.

Such things I did not easily understand as I was partial to the earth and nature. Technology was something that never sat quite right with me and I had never gotten it to work when I did give it a chance. So here I sat, where the wind could tussle my hair and the stars shine on my back.

"I'm sorry."

I spun to see Lloyd, who garbed in green seemed to glow under the moon. His frame was hunched and his face apologetic, eyes soft. I fell silent as he slid down to sit beside me, wind pushing his blond hair from his face.

"I've been... really rude to you because you're Oni. I'm sorry for everything." He sighed, head hung low.

I blinked, at a loss for words at the sudden change in his demeanor towards me. With nothing to say, I place my hand on his and when he looked up to meet my eyes, I smiled and my eyes glowed in gratitude and forgiveness.
