SCENE I

INT. BECKER LIVING ROOM – LATER

Sophie sits on the sofa working on her laptop. Cole sits on another sofa doing homework. Courtney kicks a football and it bounces off Cole's head.

COLE

No footballs in the house!

He tosses it back at her just as Daniel enters from the kitchen.

DANIEL

No footballs in the house, son.

He exits upstairs. Cole is incredulous. He grabs his books and exits to the kitchen. There's a knock on the door.

COURTNEY

I've got it.

She grabs a pillow, kicks it toward the door and races to catch it. Scarlet opens the door and catches the pillow.

COURTNEY

Nice catch.

Scarlet drops it.

SCARLET

Are you ready to head to the mall? I want to show off my outfit while it's still fresh.

COURTNEY

I just have to change out of my uniform.

She lifts an arm and sniffs.

COURTNEY (CONT'D)

And shower.

She exits upstairs. Scarlet sits next to Sophie.

SCARLET

How's the metamorphosis going?

SOPHIE

I appreciate your help, but I've accepted the fact that I'm a lost cause. You can stop wasting your time.

SCARLET

You give up to easily. Fret not, hairy caterpillar. We're cranking it up a notch. For this transformation to work, you're going to have to do something notorious.

SOPHIE

If you think I'm capable of that, then you're really wasting your time.

SCARLET

Fortunately for your feeble heart, you won't have to speak a word. You're going to prank the drama club.

She gestures toward Sophie's laptop.

SOPHIE

I don't know. This is important to them. What if they don't take it as a joke?

SCARLET

Did you take it as a joke when you fell into a birthday cake and made an eight-year-old cry?

SOPHIE

I made him cry?

SCARLET

They deserve a taste of their own medicine. The power is in your hands.

Sophie hesitates then starts typing. Scarlet smiles mischievously.
