Despite Wattpad's popularity, most people have NO CLUE what it is. I say 'Wattpad' to someone and they just look at me like I'm crazy!

When trying to explain to my grandmother what Wattpad was- I realised that there are only really a few ways to explain it in a way as to not confuse people. Here are some ways I've explained aspects of Wattpad to people irl:

'It's like an online library but just with books written by everyday people- and a few authors'

'Your total read count is like the cumulative amount of reads from your chapters'

'The Random genre is exactly what it sounds like- it's full of random books.'

'No grannie, this doesn't mean I'm a published author.'

'Yes I make my own book covers. With apps. Where would I find a picture off the internet that had both the name of my book and my username.'

'Yes a username is kind of like a pen name.'

'It's a social media site for people who write and read books.'
