Now due to there being a lack of The Evil Within Ocs, I might not go over alot of things. But I might as well start out and try. And as the Internet is screaming about, I will *Insert Shia voice here* JUST DO IT. Also I have not seen anyone nor played the DLC, so please do not get after me if I miss something that happens in that game. I'm waiting for Markiplier to play it, but nO.
Background, this is something I rarely put it on anything. But out of the *One* OCs that I have seen a background to, it really sucks. No, I'm not giving names, but I'm going to say this. Giving a OC does not make them any less Mary Sue than they actually are, most times it just makes them a bigger Mary Sue than they already are. You are supposed to add flaws to OCs, and that means laziness, bigotry, agelast-ness, and/or selfishness NOT, and I can't stress that enough, disorders. I swear to every god ever made, I *HATE* seeing people throwing around disorders. Especially since alot of the ones that are thrown around are ones *I* have. But I lost track, backgrounds often need to be treated with caution. Having a very rough background will not produce a very happy and nice character. Unless your StarFire or some alien. But your character is not. There can be oddities where OCs with hard backgrounds may be a very nice character, but they have to have downsides and and a reason. A example might be someone who has been backstabbed and lied to may be loyal, but they also would be clingy. Backgrounds come in handy when trying to explain why a character acts and does certain ways. But it can also be a pain in the ass. But going into the actual fandom thing this whole thing has to be in. There really seem to be only ways your OC could be in a story, they were in the wrong place at the wrong time, they were a cop who got dragged in, or they were in the mental hospital when it all happened. But you need to remember one word that will help you alot. "Why?" Why are they a cop and why are they there? Why are they at the hospital, visiting a friend inside the hospital, a doctor, a patient? Why are they a patient? Why were they dragged in?
Appearance, because Background got too long and my hands are already starting to hurt. Which is actually really bad since I have a very high pain tolerance. But back to this. Again, background is very important. Cops after a while will get bruises and scars.Scars do NOT go away easily. Because they are scars. So when designing your character, make sure they don't have neon hair, bling everywhere, wear appropriate clothing for a cop if they are a cop/anything similar to a cop. Just follow the things I have said in the past and you should be fine.
Relationships, as I have said, this part is very needed in many cases. Partially because most OCs are often shipped with Ruvik. Let me tell you why that is stupid. RUVIK IS A COLD HEARTED PSYCHOPATH THAT CAN TALK CALMLY AS PEOPLE SCREAM IN PAIN. How do people forget that. He will never ever fall in love with your character unless they do something that anyone could fall in love with. But that's really hard, especially if the OC is loud and annoying. And come on, lets face it. No one would fall in love with him, I think, because he is probably really sadistic. No one loves people like that unless the are masochistic. Which I'm sure a good chunk of people on Wattpad don't like that or even know what kinks are. Also since most OCs that are made are like 18 and below, like in most countries and ages. They are below the age of consent.
That's really all I can say. If I could actually find more OCs to The Evil Within fandom, then this might be longer. But I can't, sadly. But anyways, have a good day/afternoon/night/morning where ever you are.
