Hello everybody. To start out this list, I'm doing creepypasta. Now to me, this is the Fandom that needs the most help. There seem to be alot of, oh how to put this lightly, rather bad oc's (*cough* Nina the Killer *cough*). So I decided to start with creepypasta. Let's go with the whole about them thing first.

~About them
Okay, let's start out by saying that it can be okay to ship your character with a "canon" character. But try not to over do it. Shipping them with Jeff is kinda saying "I'm so mainstream so I pick this guy, plus I'm ignoring the part where he is sociopathic and had no regards for others." And trust me, I'm sociopathic and I'm pissed off that people don't understand what that is or its symptoms. There are so many symptoms. There are also many different types of sociopaths. So do your research first. Also shipping your oc with Slenderman is kinda the same way. But in my verse, it's even worse since he 1. Is like 30 or 40. And 2. Already has a daughter, whom is probably 16 right now. But that's another story for another time.
Now let's go back to mental illnesses. Please, please, please do your research before you just tack them on. It really urks the people who actually have those illnesses and just see them thrown around for fun. So making a oc is more difficult than you think. There are so many types of illnesses, that trying to find out about them all would make your head spin. But if you want to talk to me about the mental or physical illnesses you want to add to your character, you may ask me. I'm online for a good chunk of my time.
Now let's go onto personality.

~Personality
Ah yes, the place where I want to point out that usually creepypasta oc's often are the same. These oc's often are either 'insane creeps', 'suicidal, shy girls', 'energetics', or 'cute lolita'. I'm sorry to say, but that's how most of them are. I'm not saying all of them are, just about 95% are. Now you may ask "But there are no other types, what else can we have?" And my answer to that shall be in a list.
1. Super nerds
2. Animal nerds
3. Art students whom are extremely popular
4. Really likes dolls
5. Knows about things that usually others don't, like planes, cars, cats, paper, celebrities, etc.
6. The writer
7. The tech obsessed teen
8. A old lady, stuck in a little girls body
See, the list can go on and on. But just so you know, I'm guilty of having characters whom fit into the mainstream personality. But the only ones that go into the mainstream list is 'insane creeps', 'energetics', and 'cute lolita'. But I'm trying to force the characters away from that.
Also, if the character has a mental illness or a certain backround. See how people who actually have those illnesses. Then decide how your character should act.
Now let's go to appearance.

~Appearance
Oh dear, I could go on and on about this one. Oh where to start? Why don't we just start from the head down.
Hair, yep. Remember to keep this in mind, personality can very easily effect hair style. Like a tomboy had short hair, a lolita had medium, curly hair, girly girls have longer hair. But no, I'm not saying that everyone of them do. You could be a tomboy but have long hair. It's your choice.
Masks, oh gog. Masks, why are they fuckin everywhere? Like they are so much like Masky's or are trying to not. Like yes, some masks are okay. But most of them aren't. And yes, I do have one out of six larger oc's that do have a mask. But it's one of those non plastic ones. It's a real cow skull. And she only wears it because she hates to have people judge her for her looks, also for the reason she doesn't want anybody to know her emotions. So if you want to add a mask, make it original or don't add one at all.
Clothing. Let me guess, your oc has a hoodie, short shorts, or boots. If you don't, congrats. You may go against the flow. But there are other clothing types that are still overly used. Like poofy lolita dresses, converse like shoes, and jeans. Those are just some of them. So when designing your oc, mess around with what they wear and keep it related to their story and what they're all about. Also keep in mind if your character has to run around alot, make their clothing easy to run around in. If they walk around in the dark, have them covered in darker clothing. Keeping that in mind, it can be very helpful in the future.
Dresses are okay, but only if the character is girly, prim and proper, or their background fits with it. But keep in mind, most creepypastas need to run alot and dresses and heels are not made for that. Plus dresses snag onto everything and is a bitch to sew back together.
Eyes, yes this needs to be pointed out. Most oc's these days have red, black, white or no eyes. Now yes, I get that they are creepypastas and they are supposed to look creepy. But when you say they have it "just cause", no one likes it. I have a oc who had one eye messed up; and in her background its told by her point of view and it never brings up how she got the special eye, which she ends up hating. But the reason why is not because "it looks cool", but because she went though so much shit in her life, that her anger literally starts eating away at her, creating the eye. Also the whole 'eyes are the universe' or something thing is over used, and it's not because I have a grudge against this 'Judge Angels' chick, I can bitch about her day and night. But it's because seriously, a human who was born with eyes like that? Green eyes are rare, that would never happen. And again, I know it's fiction, but please try to have some sense. And also, how can that ever happen? Have you ever read books on colors, pigmentation, or the science of eyes? No? I haven't either, but color does not work like that. Last time I checked, space had no oxygen in it. So how in the hell do their eyes work? Magic? No, don't do that. No one likes that.
Next up is a huge thing that needs to be pointed out. Why is every last creepypasta white? Because after my year of seeing creepypastas, I have only seen one POC character, and they were only half Latino and half white. Is there some kind of gene in white people that only they can become insane, deranged, sociopath? So if you make alot of creepypasta oc's, please know there are other races that aren't white, and a very certain wore. I'm actually waiting for a oc that isn't a persona and is either black and not just the super dark black or borderline white, Japanese and their whole life is based off of their race, completely Spanish, or Muslum characters.
Moving on, body shape. Again, why are all of them skinny? The girls either have big breasts or a diary chest to avoid being called a may sure and have larger waists. I want to see short characters, characters with stretch marks, characters who are chubby. And that is not because I'm sexually attracted to more chubby girls! And guys, they aren't safe from it either. They are always skinny, maybe have some muscle, and are just plain lanky. Geez! I want chubby characters, I need them! Give them to me, now!
Okay, I think I went on for appearance long enough. Let's move onto powers, weapons, and races.

~Powers, Weapons, and Races
Okay, let's start off with powers. Ugh, so many of them have rage mode, can breathe underwater, or see in the dark. Now the rage mode thing, I keep seeing the same thing 'something triggers them, they destroy everything in their path, and then something triggers them off'. TWO of my characters have that, but neither of them fit into that level. One only needs to eat human flesh to get triggered off, but they don't destroy everything at all; except one human soul of course. The other just flicks it on when they are in a tight situation, they control it and it really isn't even a rage thing at all. Now the breathing underwater thing. I can bet you a cup of the best coffee EVER, that a character with that ability is shipped with BEN Drowned. Yes, let's face it. It's true, I'm not sorry to say. And also, the characters also have no explanation how they have that ability, ever. Now some of you might go like, 'they drowned, that's why they can breathe underwater'......... That makes no sense. I'm sorry to say, but that doesn't. Ugh, I can't even be on this any longer, I think I'm going to puke. Seeing in the dark also goes along the same lines, so please quit adding nonsense onto your oc's.
Next up is weapons. You know, I'm actually very okay with the weapons thing. But remember, their weapon must make sense. It can't be a shotgun mixed with a sythe that also blasts missiles. And don't have a white person from a very weird background have a katana or a AK-47, it makes no sense. Also kichen knifes are kinda over used. But otherwise, I'm fine with whatever you use, as long as it makes sense.
Lastly, races. All creepypastas are either animals or humans that get messed up in some way. So having a god or goddess be a creepypasta, well it's more like they're just in that universe. Also, please don't make your oc a god or another really powerful being. Nor have the the last of their kind or the strongest. Unless it makes sense, but usually it doesn't. But I personally really like humans who went insane or something. Because it shows that under heat and pressure, people can change. Kinda like diamonds. Also, no neko's. I hate them. Only have them if it fits into their story and their only power is they can change into that certain animal they look like only.

~Other
I'll keep this part short, since this whole is quite long.
Let's start with sexuality. Now let me say this in the nicest way possible. Every last oc is more straight than the entire US government. I have only seen one canon lesbian oc, ever. And by the way, there are more sexualities than just straight, gay or bisexual. There is pansexual, asexual, metrosexual, demisexual, etc. So please try to make a wider range of oc's. P.S. Don't forget genders, there are more genders than girl and boy.
Now let's go back to a very important thing. Do you guys (or girls or other, whatever you want to be called; I'm okay with it) notice that ever last oc is shipped with a "canon"? Well if you haven't. Then get in your lazy ass and open your eyes. Every last oc is shipped with one "canon" at least some point in their creation; no exceptions. To be honest, I'm guilty of it too, but then I swerve away from romance and love because love is stupid. I get it, it's normal to ship your characters and when you don't have other oc's that would work together and have a healthy relationship, you start shipping "canon"xoc very quickly. Now I'm not saying you can't do that in general. It's okay to do it here and there. Like only 5% of the time. Otherwise don't. It's kinda annoying.
