Is This A New Plot-Twist?

The next morning when the roosters crowed, the head eunuch - Oh Sehun, and a few servants marched towards the King's palace holding the King's hanbok, and a table set of breakfast for two.

Upon reaching the room, they paused outside the closed door.

"Your Majesty!" Oh Sehun called out in a clear voice. "Your Majesty, it's time to wake up." Then, he waited for the King to respond.

His loud booming voice woke Taehyung up. Yawning and stretching his limbs, Taehyung turned to look at the King who was still asleep like a log.

"Your Majesty." Taehyung called in a low tone. "The servants are here."

"Mn." Jungkook responded.

"Wake up, Your Majesty."

"..."

Taehyung frowned. He stood up, tidied his clothes and his hair before opening the door.

"Good morning!" Taehyung greeted with a pleasant smile. "The King is still asleep. He had a rough night. Is there something you want?"

"We are here to get the King dressed for the day." Oh Sehun informed.

"Can't he dress himself?"

"It is our duty to get dress the King." Oh Sehun insisted, sounding a bit offended.

"Alright." Taehyung shrugged. "Come on in then. The place is a bit messy but what can you expect from two hot-blooded guys, am I right." He laughed at his joke as he stepped aside to let the people in.

As soon as he entered, Sehun's attention fell on the empty bottles of wine and layers of inner garments sprawled across the floor. "Oh my...What a mess. It is like a pig sty. What exactly goes on in here? Could the rumors of him loving a man...No! It can't be!" He thought to himself as he placed the hanbok down while the servants set down the meal-set.

"Your Majesty, it's time to wake up." Sehun called softly.

"Go away!" Jungkook groaned.

"But, Your Majesty -" Sehun cowered in fear. "When it comes to duties, the King is very strict. But, today, he's even refusing to wake up. This is all because of him!" He shot death-glares at Taehyung.

Taehyung smiled nervously. "Let me handle this." Confidently, he walked over to the King and shook him fiercely. "Wake up! WAKE UP! Are you really not going to listen?!"

He removed the blanket covers and - SLAP!

Taehyung's palm met Jungkook's butt cheek.

Having witnessed such a moment for the first time in history, Sehun and the rest of the servants were left stunned. Seeing such an act of boldness made them fear for their lives.

"Good heavens! You...!" Sehun gasped, pointing to Taehyung. His face went pale as if he might faint any minute. "You dare hit the ruler of this country...and...on the butt! How dare you! You will be hung for this!"

Taehyung panicked. "...Come on now. I didn't even hit him that hard."

Suddenly, the King spoke up. His hoarse voice sounding demanding. "Leave us."

Immediately, Oh Sehun and the servants ran out the room and closed the door shut behind. In their hearts, they were praying for Taehyung's life.

Jungkook sat up straight.

"Hey~ You're awake." Taehyung smiled nervously. "Um...I'm sorry I hit you."

The tip of Jungkook's ears turned bright red. "Dress me."

"Oh." Taehyung blinked in surprise. 'Looks like I'm forgiven then,' he thought as a sense of relief washed over him. "Most certainly, Your Majesty."

And then, as Jungkook stood straight - half-naked; only in his trousers - the duty fell upon Taehyung to change the King. Never in his life had he put a hanbok on someone else before, still with clumsy hands, he worked his way from the inner layers of the garments to the outer.

The hardest part of this dress-up was the heavy belt. As he stepped closer to the King to put on the golden belt, he held his breath when he felt Jungkook breathing before him; his soft breaths passing through Taehyung's hair. He could feel the heat of Jungkook's warm skin and it gave him goosebumps all over.

"Mnn...Not too tight..." Jungkook said, almost in a harsh whisper. The deep voice made Taehyung's stomach churn.

"Sorry." Taehyung breathed.

'Why is he making such lewd sounds?! No, I'm just over-reacting.' Taehyung thought, biting his lower lip. Absentmindedly he tightened the knot making the King let out a loud gasp, "Ugh! Taehyung...so tight."

"I'm sorry!" Taehyung flushed red.

The King never let his eyes stray off Taehyung. The intense staring made Taehyung feel self-conscious. Blood rose to his cheeks. As he stood on his tip-toes to put on the gat, he slipped and the King caught him by the waist.

Taehyung's eyes widened in shock. The gat fell from his grasp. He didn't know what or how he should react, so he tried to play it cool; tried to calm down his pounding heart. "Hah! You caught me! Woah, quite a strong grip you've got there."

Jungkook tightened his grip, bringing Taehyung closer to his chest.

Taehyung blinked in surprise. "...Yah..." was all he managed to say. He caught the strong smell of sandalwood from the King, and as if lost in a trance, he absentmindedly blurted out the words, "...You smell..."

"Hm?" Jungkook raised his eyebrows questioningly.

"YOUR MAJESTY!" Kim Seokjin barged into the room.

Coming to his senses, Taehyung quickly pulled himself away and commented, "You smell of alcohol!"

Having the moment get interrupted, the King got annoyed. "Kim Seokjin, how dare you barge into the King's bed chamber?" He muttered through gritted teeth. His eyes glowing with anger.

"I'm sorry for barging in like this but I have a complaint. Someone broke into the kitchen and all broke my pots!"

The King and Taehyung exchanged glances.

"...That...would've been me." Jungkook confessed in a small voice.

Kim Seokjin stared at him in disbelief. "Your Majesty would never do -"

"I got drunk." Jungkook added.

"...But you never drink." Realization settled in and he shifted his gaze to Taehyung. With jaw clenched, he muttered, "Someone must've forced you."

"Me? Never. I'm a good boy." Taehyung defended himself.

"It's not his fault." Jungkook intervened. "I let myself drink."

Kim Seokjin remained speechless.

"I will make sure that you get your pots back, and they'll be of the finest quality. You may leave now." Jungkook said.

Kim Seokjin hesitated for a moment, then he bowed his head and left the room, thinking, "The King sure has changed. Is it a good change though? Ugh! Love works in mysterious ways."

Meanwhile, Taehyung bursted into bouts of laughter.

Jungkook sighed. With his eyebrows creased, he placed a hand over his forehead and murmured, "I don't remember much of what happened last night."

"Don't worry about it." Taehyung assured gleefully. "These things happen when you get drunk."

Jungkook stared at Taehyung.

"What?" Taehyung panicked. "Why...are you looking at me like that?"

Jungkook bent down and picked up the gat and held it out towards Taehyung. "You have yet to put this on me."

"Ughhh. Can't you put in on yourself?"

"No."

"Fine!" Taehyung scoffed. Begrudgingly, he took the gat and once again stood on his tippy toes - this time, maintaining a few good distance between them.

Once again like a video on rewind, the gat slipped out of his fingers. His face landed on Jungkook's chest.

Jungkook's arm came around him. "Are you doing this on purpose?"

"As if!" Taehyung muttered.

"Your Majesty!" Someone called from outside the room. "Miss Bae is here!"

"...The heroine is here..." Taehyung thought. He quickly pushed himself off Jungkook and fixed Jungkook's clothes. "You have to look good for your lover."

"She isn't -" Jungkook was only saying when the door opened.

Like a bright star, the heroine shone in all her glory. Her beauty breath-taking.
She walked into the room; her halo dazzling. Smiling pleasantly, she greeted, "Your Majesty, good morning." Her smile slightly disappeared when her eyes fell on Taehyung. "Taehyung-sshi, good morning. To be honest, I'm not surprised seeing you here."

"You remember my name." Taehyung smiled gleefully, feeling honored that such a beauty would remember him.

"I would never forget your name, after all, you are someone important to His Majesty. In fact, I've heard people say that you and His Majesty are...joined at the hip." Joohyun commented.

"Oh that...Pftt! We're really good friends!" Taehyung laughed.

"Aah. Is that so?" Joohyun didn't sound convinced at all.

"What brings you here, Joohyun-sshi?" Jungkook interrupted.

"That's quite a strange question to ask your fiancée. Of course, I came to see you, Your Majesty!" Joohyun blushed.

"I'm busy." Jungkook said flatly.

Feeling awkward, and completely like a third-wheel, Taehyung quickly added, "Nonsense! Joohyun-sshi, His Majesty is not busy. You can stay and talk to him. I will leave."

"That isn't necessary but thank you." Joohyun flashed a smile.

Taehyung blushed, grinning from ear-to-ear. "Oh please, it's nothing. I just need something from His Majesty before I take my leave."

"What?" Jungkook asked.

Taehyung held out his arms towards the King. Batting his big, puppy eyes, Taehyung said, "Money."

Without any second gone, Jungkook turned on his heel and walked over to the table. Opening a tiny, jewel-embedded chest, he pulled out a pouch which he handed to Taehyung.

Joohyun stood, astonishment in her eyes.

"Thank you!" Taehyung said happily, putting the pouch in his pocket. "Also, here -" Stretching his body, he finally succeeded on setting the gat atop the King's head. Quickly, he whispered in Jungkook's ear, "Have fun. Oh, and be nice to her."

He gave a big thumbs-up to the King and left.

***

Outside the palace, Kim Taehyung strolled down the pavement of the marketplace when suddenly his stomach growled.

"I'm famished! I should've eaten something before leaving!"

Just then, a pretty girl dressed in a pink hanbok caught his attention. "Honey rice cakes! Honey rice cakes! Try some honey rice cakes!" She was shouting, trying her best to gather some crowd for her shop.

The corners of Taehyung's lips turned up into a mischievous smirk. "A gentleman always helps a damsel in distress - What the -!" Out of nowhere, someone grabbed him by the arm and flipped him around so that he came face-to-face with the person.

Sharp, monolid eyes stared right at him.

"Woah." The word escaped his mouth when he saw that it was a pretty girl. "What's going on? Why am I attracting such good fortune today?" He thought. Immediately, his flirty-mode switched on.

"My my, hello there~" Taehyung smiled sweetly.

"Orabeuni, do you...remember me?" The girl asked. Her voice sounding a bit shaken.

Taehyung blinked, speechless. No way he remembered her! This was his first time even meeting the girl! Quickly, he glanced at the words floating above her head. It read:

Kang Seulgi.
Extra.

"Mm-hm." Taehyung nodded, smiling nervously. "Of course, I remember Seulgi-sshi. How could I forget such a beautiful face - Umpffhhh!" Before Taehyung could finish talking, he was punched in the stomach by the girl. "Ughh!" Taehyung groaned in pain, holding his stomach. "You're really strong."

"This is for hurting my brother!" Seulgi shouted angrily with blood-shot eyes.

"Brother?" Taehyung raised an eyebrow, confused.

"Yes, my brother! Why?! You don't remember him?!" Seulgi yelled.

Seeing a young girl having a fit in broad daylight in the middle of the road in the presence of a young man was obviously going to attract attention. Taehyung could feel the curious eyes of the people. He heard a few passer-by say,

"What's going on?! A lovers dispute?!"

"Oh. The girl seems so angry."

"It must definitely be the guy's fault. Maybe he has no job and is not able to support his family."

"Maybe he drinks their savings away!"

"Aiyah! That is really the worst! Why is she even staying with him?! I would've killed him already!"

Quickly, Taehyung muttered to the girl, "Shush! Calm down! I remember!"

"That's great then." Seulgi said, having calmed down a bit. "Did you meet him yet?"

"Who?"

"My brother!"

"...Oh..."

"So?" Seulgi crossed her arms across her chest. "Have you met him or not?"

"How about we talk over lunch? My treat!" Taehyung suggested with a smile, flashing his pouch of money.

***

"What? You haven't met him yet. How strange." Seulgi muttered.

They were at a food-stall now. While Taehyung devoured his food, Seulgi took tiny bites.

"How strange indeed." Taehyung rolled his eyes in sarcasm. "Who even is this girl?! Ah, whatever! I'll just treat her to a meal and send her away quickly." He thought, putting a big chunk of meat in his mouth.

Seulgi shot an annoyed look at him.

Wiping the grease off his lips, Taehyung grinned at her. "Why are you looking at me like that? Am I so handsome?"

"My brother has been gone for months now and I haven't received a single letter from him. That is the reason why I came to the capital searching for him."

"Okay."

"He left because you left."

Taehyung stopped chewing. "What do you mean by that?"

Seulgi sighed. "After you left home to come here in search for work -"

"Home?" Taehyung was stunned.

"Yes! Home! Our home! Yours, mine and my brother! Why are you acting like a stranger hearing things for the first time?" Seulgi raised her voice in anger.

"Is she saying that my character has a life here? How is this even possible?"

"I'm terribly sorry. It's just...my head hurts."

"You've become strange. Ever since we met at the orphanage -"

"The orphanage?" Taehyung gasped.

"Yes, the orphanage! Will you let me finish?! Jeez! You used to talk so little but now - Gosh! Living here has changed you a lot!" Seulgi complained.

"I apologize. Go on."

"Back in the orphanage, my brother stood up for you and saved you so many times whenever you got bullied, and...oh! Remember how I shared my snacks with you because yours would get snatched away by the bullies?"

"...I remember." Taehyung lied.

"You don't sound like you do. It seems like life here has made you forget us."

Taehyung faked a laugh. "That isn't true at all."

"Anyways -" Seulgi shrugged. "Out of all the people my brother knows, I was hoping you would have met him. The two of you were the 'closest' after all."

"We were? Like best friends forever?"

Seulgi cleared her throat out of embarrassment. "Yes...well...you could say that. Anyways, tell me, what work do you do here?"

"...I don't have a job."

Seulgi glanced at the expensive hanbok Taehyung was wearing, and said, "Are you kidding me?"

"I swear I'm not. I mean I used to be a servant...but it's changed now. I don't work anymore."

"Then how -" Seulgi gasped in horror as if having realized something. "Could it be you are...that?"

"That?"

Seulgi's lips pressed into a thin line. Leaning in closer across the table, she whispered, "A prostitute?"

Taehyung coughed. "WHAT?! NO!"

Seulgi eyed him suspiciously.

"I assure you I'm not that. His Majesty helped me, that's all."

"The King did? Why?"

"To tell you the truth, even I don't know the answer to that. I've been asking myself the same question. He gave me - a total stranger - food, clothes and shelter. I tried running away from the palace but he caught me and forgave me. Also I accidentally helped his sister run away from home, yet he didn't kill me."

"...and he waited for me in the rain, drank wine with me, made me sleep in the same room as him, saved me from the deadly poison. Why would he do that?" He thought.

Seulgi grinned madly.

"What's with that grin? What's going on in your head?" Taehyung eyed suspiciously.

"Oh my~ You really don't know?" Seulgi laughed loudly.

"No. Tell me."

"His Majesty wants to make you his concubine. Congratulations." Seulgi announced teasingly.

Taehyung's mouth felt bitter. "What?! Why on earth would you think that?!"

"Just think about it! He fed you, clothed you, gave you a space to live. You're not a servant nor a soldier. You're not a physician either. You don't happen to be his sibling, then why would the ruler of a country cherish you so much?"

"Cherish?! No way! The chances of a man being a concubine is very less!" Taehyung laughed heartily.

"But never zero." Seulgi said flatly.

Taehyung fell speechless.

"The King fell in love with you! How lucky you are!" Seulgi congratulated.

"Don't say that! His Majesty and I are just friends. He harbors no special feelings for me whatsoever."

"What makes you so sure?"

"Because the King loves someone else and he wishes to marry her."

"Oh...too bad for you. But who knows, you may still have a shot. I'm rooting for you."

Taehyung groaned in frustration. He was exhausted from their irrelevant conversation.

"So..." Suddenly, a man spoke. His voice deep, and sounding a little angry. "This is what you were up to."

Taehyung shivered. A chill went down his spine. He turned his neck around so fast that a shot of pain went through his neck, and came face-to-face with the King and Namjoon dressed in ordinary, commoners clothes.

"Orabeuni, do you know these people?" Seulgi asked innocently, staring at the two handsome figures.

At the word 'Orabeuni,' Jungkooks eyes fell on Seulgi, and he didn't seem very pleased.

'Yah! Who are you calling Orabeuni?' Taehyung thought in a frantic.

Quickly, flashing a sheepish smile, he spoke up, "Seulgi-sshi, these are my friends." Facing the two people, he said, "This is my friend, Seulgi. Anyways, I wasn't expecting to see you two here. Come, join us. My treat!"

Namjoon scowled. "You're treating the very person who gave you the mo -"

"Alright." Jungkook interrupted. He took a seat right next to Taehyung while Namjoon sat beside Seulgi. After ordering more food, he asked Jungkook, "What are you even doing here? You rarely leave the house."

"The weather is nice so I felt like taking a stroll." Jungkook stared at Seulgi and bluntly inquired, "What is your relationship with this woman? Are you only just friends?"

Seulgi was frightened. Her hands went cold. From all the icy glares she was receiving from the so-called friend since the man's arrival, she understood the situation crystal clear. "Sir, I assure you, there is nothing going on between us. Orabeuni is like a brother to me."

"Is that so?" Jungkook murmured.

"Seulgi-sshi and I were raised in the orphanage together. We used to live together -"

"You lived together?" Jungkook clenched his fists.

Seulgi started breaking in cold-sweats. "Once again, it's not like that."

"It's been such a long time since I last saw her. Luckily, I ran into her this morning. She came here looking for her brother. Her brother and I were close, so she says."

Anxiety rose in Seulgi's eyes.

"How much close?" Jungkook muttered through gritted teeth.

Taehyung nodded innocently, oblivious to his surroundings. "Apparently very close."

Seulgi's heart rate increased so much she was sure she'd get a heart attack. 'Orabeuni is really so dense! Read the room! I'm going to die at this rate!' Quickly, she spoke up to save her neck, "No. It's really nothing like that! We were all like a family. Like a bunch of siblings."

"But mainly with me as the motherly figure and her brother as the fatherly figure. That's what I think it was like." Taehyung said understandingly with arms crossed his chest.

Seulgi held back her tears.

"So then, you played the role of their child?" Jungkook glared furiously.

Seulgi could not bear it anymore. Her survival instincts were ringing in her ears. Now, it was moment of fight or flight. And she chose flight. Immediately, she stood up and declared, "Thank you for the food. I have to return home now."

"Eh. So fast. Stay a while." Taehyung begged.

"I'm sorry, I can't. And if you ever meet my brother, I want you to yell at him for not coming back home once a while to meet his one and only dear sister."

"Alright. Tell me your brothers name."

Seulgi's jaw clenched. A crease formed between her eyebrows. Then as if releasing her whole anger, she let out a breath of air. "You know what, I'm not going to do this again. I'm not going to let you ruin my mood. Listen carefully, idiot!"

Jungkook cleared his throat harshly at the insult.

Seulgi freaked out.

Taehyung nodded, holding back his laughter.

Seulgi quickly mouthed the words. "My brothers name is Park Chanyeol. Please remember that."

***

Before bidding farewell to Kang Seulgi, Taehyung bought her a lot of gifts - silk clothes, tasty snacks and expensive jewelries. At first, Seulgi refused to take the gifts, but Taehyung assured her saying, "Don't worry. It's totally okay. I bought these gifts for you from the bottom of my heart. Also, it isn't even my money. It's the King's. Wait! Technically, it's the people's money - it's the taxes they pay. In other words, it's your money. Please. I insist. Take them."

In the end, Seulgi accepted the gifts.

Soon, they arrived at crossroad.

"Well, this is me. Orabeuni, promise me, you'll come visit me one day. And if possible, bring my brother along with you."

"I promise. You take care of yourself, Seulgi-sshi."

Seulgi nodded.

Before leaving, Seulgi stood on her tip toes and placed a light peck on Taehyung's cheek, making him blush.

Jungkook's face darkened.

Namjoon panicked. A horrified gasp escaped his lips.

"Goodbye, Orabeuni. I'm glad I met you today." Seulgi smiled happily. Then she waved goodbye and left.

"Bye! Bye!" Taehyung waved back with all his strength as he watched her go before she finally disappeared from his line of sight.

"What a lovely girl." Taehyung chuckled, blushing madly.

"I thought you said she was like a sister to you." Jungkook commented as he stared the pink lip print on Taehyung's cheek.

"I've never said that." Taehyung stated as a matter of factly.

Jungkook's eyes narrowed in anger. A crease formed between his eyebrows. "How much money did you spend?"

"All of it."

"Well, I'm going to have you work in the kitchen to pay it back." Jungkook said.

"What?! You didn't say that when you handed me the money this morning." Taehyung complained.

"I had a change of thought. Now, let's go." Jungkook turned on his heel and started walking away.

"No, please, Your Majesty. I don't want to work in the kitchen. Anywhere else is fine. Seokjin is already pissed off because of his pots!"

Jungkook didn't answer.

"Your Majesty!" Taehyung whined.

Namjoon commented, "Looks like there's a thunderstorm coming."

***

When they reached the palace, they saw Bae Joohyun still waiting at the front porch; only she wasn't alone. Along-side her stood the Prince, Park Jimin, with a big smirk on his face, fanning himself with his pretty fan.

When Jimin spotted the two figure approaching, he said, "So, brother, you've returned."

Joohyun gracefully turned her head in the direction of the King. Swiftly, she walked towards them while Jimin trailed behind.

"Miss Joohyun! Hello again ~" Taehyung greeted with a happy smile as he waved at her.

"Oh. Your Majesty." Joohyun called out. Ignoring Taehyung, she rushed past him and embraced Jungkook tightly. Letting out a small sob, she confessed, "Why did you leave me alone? You said you'd be gone only for a moment but it has been an hour. I was worried that it might be because you disliked me."

Taehyung stared at the heroine; at her thin arms locked around the King. Just then, Joohyuns eyes met his. The look of triumph clearly visible on her face. Somehow it made him irritated, slightly upset, and he didn't understand why he would feel such emotions.

"My my, hyung. What a rude thing to do to a lady." Jimin laughed. "Looks like your beauty can't captivate His Majesty, Joohyun-sshi."

"Tell me it isn't true, My King." Joohyun teased. She glanced up at the King. The King stared down at her, completely expressionless. Embarrassed from not receiving an answer, she quickly said, "Where were you, Your Majesty?"

Glancing at Taehyung, she asked, "Who were you with?"

Bae Joohyun did not even need to hear the answer out loud. She could see it in the way the King turned his head to gaze at Taehyung. The longing glistening in his dark eyes.

Instantly, her smile disappeared.

"Miss Joohyun," Jungkook called.

"Yes?" Joohyun said, her eyes sparkling with hope. She felt the King lay his strong hands on her upper arms. Imagining he would bring her closer to him, she blushed red, but instead she was gently pushed away.

"Let me be clear, Joohyun-sshi, I am the King. What I do and who I spend my time with is none of your concern. Also, I'd prefer if you maintained some distance between us. I dislike it when someone invades my personal space." Jungkook said flatly.

Taehyung's mouth fell open in shock. 'Why is he so rude to the heroine?!'

Joohyun was definitely not expecting such a statement - more like an order. Feeling deeply upset and utterly humiliated, she lowered her head as she apologized, "Forgive me for my insolence, Your Majesty."

"Brother, to treat a lady this way -" Jimin spoke up.

Ignoring him, Jungkook quickly spoke, "Taehyung, I'm tired. Lets go in." Then, he started walking away.

Hearing Taehyung's name being called out, Joohyun stared at the boy in bitter anger and jealousy.

"Yes, Your Majesty." Taehyung nodded, then quickly followed after Jungkook. Behind his shoulders, he heard Jimin say, "Joohyun-sshi, I hope you wouldn't mind but it seems like my brother already has someone else in his mind."

Suddenly, those words reminded him of what Seulgi had said:

"The King fell in love with you!"

***

Back again in the royal bed-chamber, Taehyung laid down on his futon, pretending to read a book while the King practiced his calligraphy skills.

He peered at the King from behind the open book. Admiring his handsome features, he thought to himself, 'What a beauty. And he likes me? Wait! He hasn't said so himself so it might not be true."

A tiny gasp escaped his lips as a sidden thought appeared in his mind. 'What if it's true? Oh no! What will I do? Does this make me the heroine? No way! Why does he even like me? Sure, I am tall and handsome and charismatic, still, it makes no sense. We are both guys. And I don't swing that way...or do I?"

Turning bright red, he panicked. 'KIM TAEHYUNG, HAVE YOU GONE MAD?! WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?! YOU CAN'T BE -'

Just then, he met eye-contact with the King.

His heart skipped a beat. '-GAY!?'

"Wha-What are you staring at?" Taehyung stammered, pointing out with his chin.

"I could ask you the same."

"What?! When I have stared at you?!" Taehyung questioned.

"From the moment you laid down with that book, pretending to read it." Jungkook replied calmly.

"What makes you so sure that I haven't been reading it?" Taehyung asked, feeling offended.

"Because I didn't hear a single page turn. Also you are holding the book upside-down."

Blood rushed to his cheeks. Flustered, he raised up on his feet, throwing the book on the ground, he declared, "I don't feel like reading anymore. I'm going out for a walk."

"You are supposed to work in the kitchen." Jungkook reminded.

"I don't want to."

"Then, for the walk, should I join -"

"No!" Taehyung shouted and rushed out the room, shutting the door behind.

The corners of Jungkook's lips turned up into a smile. He let out a small laugh as he made brush strokes on the paper. "So, he can get shy. How cute."

***

Fuming with anger, Taehyung slammed his fists against the hardwood floor, cursing and muttering to himself, "That crazy King! Ugh! Why did he look at me like that? I'm so mad!"

Hearing his heart beat become louder, he placed his hand on his chest and counted his pulse for a whole minute. "152 beats per minute. Hmm. That's a lot. At this rate, he will give me a cardiac problem."

After taking in deep breaths and out to calm himself down, he walked out the palace and found a place to rest under the shade of a tree.

Closing his eyes, the events of the day played in the back of his mind. He couldn't help but remember his conversation with Seulgi:

"Our home!"

"Back in the orphanage-"

Taehyung thought, 'How weird. I didn't expect for an extra to have a backstory. It wasn't revealed in the book either. So, I was raised in an orphanage. If so, why don't I have this body's memories? Hmm...Chanyeol and Seulgi. I should try and find out more about my life here; if only, I'm able to meet her brother.'

Who knew that his wish would be coming true soon.
