This short story is called "Followers"

One day. It was the one day that changed my life. I've never been the same.... No one teases me any more and it was all thanks to them.....

~three days ago~

I was walking down the hall, everyone was shoving and teasing me. One boy pushed me down to the ground, I close my eyes and listen to what he says, he says I'm worthless......stupid....fat....ugly....useless...u-ntalented......unlovable.....a sin....that I should die......maybe.....what if he was right?

I'm worthless
I'm stupid
I'm fat
I'm ugly
I'm useless
I'm untalented
I'm unlovable
I'm a sin
I should DIE.

But that's when I heard them...

"You aren't worthless"
"You are brilliant"
"Size doesn't matter"
"You're gorgeous"
"You are so helpful!"
"You're so talented! I wish I had your talent!"
"I love you!!"
"It doesn't matter what you are. We'll love you anyways"
"Please stay"

But one stood out umong the rest....

"I love you! If anyone makes fun of you I'll be there in a flash!"

Where are you now?

"We all love you....please don't leave"

That's what they said. I didn't understand....that's everything my followers have said on social media sites but why would they be repeating in my head?

I open my eyes to see people....so many of them...but why? They look like they're helping me. They're standing up for me? But why? I'm useless.

"You aren't useless" one says. One turns around and faces me, she holds out her hand and I grab it. She lifts me up so I can stand up. "You are important" they said....and since then.....I've believed every word they've said.

I am not worthless.
I am intelligent.
I shouldn't care about my size.
I am beautiful.
I am not useless.
I am talented.
I am loved.
I am no sin.
I will not die.

I know that people care about me. So many people care about me.

I was on the verge of tears while writing this and I hope I almost brought you to tears. The moral of this short story is to not let anyone drag you down. No matter what they say or do there are people who will stick up for you.

You are beautiful.
You are talented.
You are not worthless.
Please don't die......
