~Hailey~

I watch as Kevin drives away, sadness engulfing me. I look at the fucker behind me. I was pushing him away and he didn't budge. Why couldn't he get the message that I didn't want to be with him anymore?

"That was my last chance to be happy, Jake. I wasn't happy with your cheating ass. I wasn't happy with you and now that I see it clearly. I don't think we ever loved each other. We we're just each other's rebounds. A way to forget each other's past, and I regret wanting to forget my past because my past could've been my future."

"I-"

"Shut up. I'm going to call my lawyer. We're going to sign those papers."

"Divorce? Hailey, plea-"

"Do you love me?"

"What?" Jake asks, confused.

"Do you love me?" I raise my voice.

"Yes. I do, Hailey," he sounds a dog with his tail between his legs.

"Then let me go." I tell him before walking away. Obviously, he won't let me walk away so he grabs my arm and gently makes me look at him.

"Hailey, will this make you happy?"

"Very happy, Jake," I admit, tearing up and he hugs me.

"Then, I'll let you go.."

I visited my dad before going on a hunting spree for Kevin, and there's when I saw a sticky note. He left me a note, and he's leaving. I panic and asked Jake to help me find Kevin and we went everywhere, except one place. Lace's grave. We drove over to the cemetery and Jake parks the car. 

"This will work, Hailey. I'm sorry for what I did to you," he kisses my forehead and I give him a smile, hopping out with my umbrella. There, I saw Kevin drenched and sat next to Lace's grave. The more I got closer, the clearer it becomes to me. The rain hides secrets, and it hid his. As he spoke to the tombstone, the rain hid his tears and heart-breaking sobs. I walked over to him and covered him with the umbrella.

"What are you doing here?" his voice cracked and it was sore, like he'd been shouting for hours.

"I'm sorry, Kevin."

"No I'm sorry for wasting your time. You only say that because I'm leaving. So don't be sorry, be happy. I'm leaving you alone," he stands up and walks past me.

I instantly grab his arm, not giving him a chance to walk away anymore. "Don't leave.."

"Isn't that what you want me to do?"

"No," I sob.

"Why are you crying?" His tone cold and emotionless. My grip softened and he took the chance to walk away.

I couldn't watch him go...

I won't let him leave...

I drop my umbrella and hugged him from behind, stopping him from his tracks. "Kevin, I love you, please don't leave.."

"And now you expect me to love you back?"

"Isn't that what you were waiting for?"

"The world doesn't revolve around you, Hailey," he starts to take my arms off of him but I abruptly sneeze, getting sick from the rain. He looks at me worried and looks for the umbrella.

"Why the hell did you run in the rain? You're going to get sick!" When the umbrella was in his sights, he runs for it, leaving me vulnerable. I felt dizzy and light-headed. Everything started to dim down. I faint, being caught and embraced in someone's warm arms.
