~Hailey~

I unceremoniously get woken up by distracting sound of barks. Wait. Barks? When did there come a time that there were dogs in my room? I feel a sudden lick on my face, making me hold my hands out and open my eyes. A little Pomeranian decided to sit on my lap.

"Aww, where did you come from, cutie?" I cooed as I scratched behind the dog's ears.

"I'm sorry, Miss, I believe that my dog decided to bother your beauty sleep, not that you needed it, considering how beautiful you already are," A man that looks around my age jogs towards me, panting and clutching a broken leash in his hand. His green eyes captivated me but not more than his smile. 

"It's fine, really, she saved from embarrassing myself here in public," I looked at my watch, thankfully, I had only fallen asleep for a few minutes. Must be the fatigue from working overtime and then being restless at home. 

He chuckles as he takes the dog from my lap, holding his hand out. "I'm Jake Bauer."

"Hailey Ford," I smiled, shaking his hand. 

"Nice to meet you," He smiles at me. "What pushed you to nap out here? I'm pretty sure a bed is comfier."

"I thought I would have been able to sleep after working overtime but I felt restless instead, I decided to take a jog and I got tired."

"Would you like to go out and eat lunch with me?" 

I didn't know that agreeing then would change my life forever.

We've been dating for 11 months now and he's kissed me everywhere but the lips, which I found weird. My white floral dress kept swaying with the wind as I looked afar the ocean.

"Hurry, Ley~Bear," He calls out to me.  He told me to come with him to the beach again. It was windy and the sun was about to set. In my field of view, I see a set up of candles and a mat on the sand. 

"Simple but I tried," He grins sheepishly. "I wanted a simple date because you're enough to make it special."

"As much as you make my life special," I smiled. He holds both of my hands and smiles back. He kneels in front of me and I felt my nerves tingle. I wanted to jump from joy and excitement. 

"Hailey, meeting you was one of the most fun and amazing gifts that my dog has given me," He starts as he looks up at me, joking around. "And I'd love for you to continue bringing fun in my life."

I felt speechless, but in the good sense. I felt like tears were about to well up as he holds my hand tighter. 

"Will you marry me?"

I simply nodded with a smile, crying as he puts the ring on my finger. He gets up and hugs me before kissing me deeply. It was magical and worth the wait. The first kiss with him was meant to be meaningful. Once we pull away, he holds me close.  "I love you."

I'm married to him now... And I'm proud to call him mine, as much as he loves to call me his. We live a happy life together.
