Things get fierce...

A/N - Hello everyone! I've been getting some lovely comments from you lot which convinced me to go through with this chapter even though I was a bit stuck with where to lead things. I needed to start the fight somehow so I had to get this out of the way - next chapter I'll focus on how Percy joins the fight because we all know he's no damsel in distress!

The pack had been camped just a few miles away from enemy territory for a couple of days. They were all waiting for some news back from the teams who were scouting but so far it wasn't anything good. Jason was beginning to feel the pressure build up as it was left to him to find a safe way in. "There are way more of them than there are of us." noted Annabeth for like the fifth time in this singular meeting. "I think we've got that brainiac," Nico sighed clearly frustrated with how slow things were going, "What doesn't make sense is the amount of different species within their camp. I swear last night I saw vampires."

"What the hell are wolves doing playing nice with those creeps?" demanded Reyna.

"It's not just vampires," added Hazel gently,"They're working with warlocks and witches and the fae." This revelation was one that had come across yesterday when the last scout group had rushed back after nearly being discovered. It was still difficult learning just how outnumbered they were compared to the Titan Pack and it was something that the wolves struggled to fully comprehend. "So..." Piper pried from her spot opposite Jason around the campfire. This wasn't one of those private meetings;all wolves who had been able to make the journey from the Olympian grounds were gathered in close, each one of them silent so that they could hear the conversation, only talking when they had something useful to say.

"So?" echoed Jason confused.

"So what's the plan?" Piper elaborated. The question was just met with multiple moans and an even louder groan from Jason.

"Don't you think if I'd thought of a plan by now we wouldn't be sitting around on our butts all night but instead rescuing Percy!" Jason tried to refrain from snapping but it ended up coming out all the same. To Piper's credit, she didn't even flinch although that somehow made Jason feel guiltier in the fact that one of his best friends had been expecting for him to lash out. With a quick glance at the wolves surrounding him, none of them seemed to be angry at Jason for snapping but instead they all wore faces of pity and concern. This managed to make Jason feel worse. I've been so worried for Percy that I've forgotten to-"Jason! Sir, sir!" Came a cry as some of the younger scouts rushed back from wherever they were positioned. The look on their faces conveyed so much fear that Jason already knew what they were about to say but he had to ask anyway. I've got to be sure. "What's going on?"

"It's the Titan camp, sir," replied one of the smaller lads, "It looks like they're preparing defenses - I think they know we're here."

"We seriously did not think this through!" Shouted Reyna as her claws dug deep into the attacking wolf midway through her change. A second later, along to the sound of cracking bones, Reyna was standing on all fours after completing her transformation. Jason didn't even need to tell her of the two hounds closing in behind her because in a heartbeat Reyna had whirled around and sank her teeth into the first offender while Frank did the same for the other. It was now eerily silent. Upon learning that the pack had been discovered, Jason had lost all hope. Now, without the element of surprise, there was almost no chance of rescuing Percy without putting other Olympian members in harm's way. Seeing Jason's silent conundrum, Hazel had come forward so that she was close enough to whisper to Jason without anyone else hearing. "Jas', I know what you're thinking - you can't charge in there without all our lives on your conscience but this isn't just about Percy. This is something bigger, way bigger. It started before us, with Luke, with that poor, poor omega. And now it's happening with Percy. You know we can't just sneak in and rescue him without the repercussions. If it's not Percy then what about other wolves; our packs future. Yes it's rare, but anyone of the pack's pups could present as an omega too. Heck, it could even be Silena's pups - or Will's!" Hazel gave Jason time to digest what she'd just said before speaking again, this time louder. "We must end this, once and for all! This isn't just a simple rescue mission, we can't just go home after tonight and pretend we'll be safe. We must take down the Titans and destroy their cruel ways! We must bring them down if we want to secure our future, our children's future!" Jason had always known how strong Hazel was despite her kind nature but in moments like this, it was obvious that she was just as strong and determined as the rest. Nobody around the camp had disagreed. Instead they had all cheered and shouted their agreements. There was no time for planning - it would have been useless anyway. The Titans already knew they were here. What they needed to do was make an entrance and quick before the enemy had time to prepare any more defenses. They had decided on a simple technique of surrounding the base and gradually closing in until they all met in the middle. With just hope in their hearts and anger in their eyes, the Olympians charged.

It only took a gentle nudge from one of Frank's paws to bring him back to the present. Maybe I'm not quite cut out for the leadership role. Jason's ears were pounding as his body caught up with itself after the initial attack. This isn't even a fraction of Kronos's pack, they were only the lousy guards. And above that, Jason hadn't even had to fight. As soon as the threat had presented itself Reyna and Frank had leapt into action like loyal dogs. Jason - still in his human form - took a moment to look over his friends, to check that they were alright. They were both breathing heavily, furry chests heaving with the effort. Blood coated their muzzles like paint on a canvas and Jason wondered how many more of his own would be looking exactly like that, somewhere else in the compound, already facing their own battles, desperately fighting for life. "-ason. Jason, c'mon we've got to go." Reyna urged. Jason nodded without really hearing her and changed into his own wolf form. His yellow fur was pristine and immaculate. I wonder how long it'll be until it's matted and soaked in blood. The fight had barely begun and Jason was already thinking he'd made a mistake. Innocent wolves are going to die tonight.
