The Hat Fic is not just something that changed my personnal life. It changed my social life as well.

My family and my friends put my name in Facebooks posts that contain hamsters. Every time they see a picture with a hamster, they say "hey, Sol ! Look, it's your thing from the creepy fic !".

I was on a vacation in France (what a beautiful country) and we were near a rivier. I was sat on a rock because I was really bored. And my dad called me "SOLEANE ! COME ! I WANT TO SHOW YOU SOMETHING !". I was expecting a... plant ? I don't know what I was expecting but surely not my dad pointing a rock and saying "Don't you think it looks like Striker ?".

Yeah. He called it Striker. He know its name. Do you know how ? DO YOU ?

Yes, he did read it.

I talked to him about it as a joke, like "hey ever heard about the hat fic ?". But my dad wants to share my interests with me and he thought it was one of them. So he searched it on Google. He didn't find it. Did he give up ? No. He created his own account on Wattpad and decided to read it.

Let's not talk about the fact that he's writing that we can learn from it on his phone and that he's gonna post it here. Let's not.

So now he references it.

My best friend fears hamsters because of me. But I think it's quite funny.

My friend actually called me "the god of the hat fic". So yah, join us, we're a good religion full of hamsters and weird stuff.

And I met some people because of it. I guess it's quite positive ?

But seriously, I think the hat fic can be a good thing somewhere. I mean, it's totally weird and may be terrifying. But it's such a thing in the phandom. We all know it even though we all haven't read it - not yet. I feel like it's something that can make us closer, you know ? We reference it, we are terrified together, we talk about it, we act like it's the most horrible thing but we're not that traumatised. When you read a phanfic and you see the name Striker, people will get it. You start talking with them. You can meet people.

That's one of the reason why I think that it's not too terrible.
