roasting legacies part 2. and season ideas
oh look, it's me roasting legacies again because I recently made more revelations about this and how it could be better and I tend to focus on this rather than write for any of my books
- im still not convinced that Raf, Landon, and Kaleb (amongst any other new kids that have been or will be introduced) aren't that interested in the fact that Hope's a tribrid. like, where are the range of questions for her? (other than the pilot) or instead of getting an awkward conversation with her shooting you a dirty glare, they ask around the school and we see how the school thinks of Hope's tribridness, mentions to her parents, etc. or the fact that when she was erased from their minds and Lizzie introduced her and they said she was a were-witch, they just accepted it? like they weren't more curious about her background or something? i get they've been dealing with monsters for a while but it's still a hybrid creature that they should discus
- like okay, the fact that they made MG a Ripper when the guy's never even tasted human blood since he first transitioned probably, he's barely a year or two old, so it makes sense that he would have trouble controlling himself, I mean remember when Alaric was a vampire in early S6? He couldn't control it well either.
- so, making him a Ripper is just stupid rather than just write him as a regular vampire figuring out control around human blood since he's almost never had it and is slowly easing his way there. Like Elena or Caroline, or hell even Damon, they all started out the same: trouble around human blood and eventually eased into a normal vampire. Even the Originals were like that once.
- can we talk about how the school has only been feeding the vampire students animal blood?
- I mean, okay, I get they don't want the vampires to be at 100% in case they need to take them down easily bc of an incident or something, but when those students graduate and go off into the world it'll be even harder for them to gain control around human blood since they never had a chance in the first place
- this also means in case they were the ones being attacked by a threat or something, they wouldn't be able to defend themselves to their full extent
- instead of intentionally weakening your kids, you should be teaching them control and the importance of human life so they won't go attacking anyone
^the vamp kids when out in the world and see someone with a nosebleed
this is yet another reason why Alaric really should leave Emma to be the headmistress of the school, at least she's a witch and can get where they come from
just, the fact that the school is supposed to be inclusive and want the three species to interact and bond and whatnot,
- and yet there's still huge animosity between the vampires and the wolves
- the witches remain isolated from the others but appear to be at the top of the food chain and difficult to impress
- like the rules for the annual talent show is three performances by the three species, and that's it, like is it allowed for a vampire and a witch to do a talent together? why should Hope have to do it alone if she were interested? why not actually be inclusive, and let multiple sign-ups happen rather than just three per species? i mean, jeez at least human high schools know that
let me interrupt your usually scheduled roast to mention my best friend
hey mels look who it is^ anyway, reminder to read this pls, ty
okay, back to it
- this isn't something wrong technically, but rather in my own opinion, when Hope was erased from everyone's minds and she revealed who she was to Alaric, I was hoping for some sense of paranoia or unease around her, cuz she's Klaus Mikaelson's daughter, for all he knew, he raised her to be exactly like him and he's legit wary around her and doesn't want her around the Salvatore School
- but just for like one episode because then he sees how she's actually better than her father, and she even reminds him of Josie and Lizzie, just a scared teenager. Like I just hoped for a more realistic reaction on his part, I mean, Klaus stole and inhabited his body for a whole week once, you don't forget something like that.
what i would do if i could write the next season:
- just get rid of Landon,
- get rid of the Malivore storyline too
- and the Necromancer dude, i mean, seriously?
- have Alyssa Chang be the new big bad, we always love a female villain, remember Katherine?
- Penelope gave off Katherine vibes for sure but i don't want her full-on evil but rather vague and mischievous but not like evil-evil, you get me?
- anyway, have Alyssa harbor hatred against the twins, and maybe she joins teams with someone else, someone who was wronged not by Klaus Mikaelson, but by Hope
- remember that scene from TO S5 where Hope unleashed all Hollow-Hell on vampire-supremacists *cough* Nazi's *cough* and killed them all? anyway, have one of those dead vampires have a loved one that wants revenge against Hope, this introduces a vampire enemy and we haven't had one of those in a while,
- but not like The Originals or Silas old, just a regular vampire with maybe a century in his or her pocket, maybe not, point is, they hate Hope, they want her dead, but like most vampires, they want her to suffer first, think of Damon S1 but less personal, more creepy, and less teasing
- and this vampire being introduced means they could come along and try to tempt the Salvatore school vampires, talking about how the school wants to keep them weak, they should embrace their true selves, and it's Kaleb that shuts it down, he doesn't want to listen to this fool anymore, and shows the type of leader he is around the vampires and they do follow him
- this basically means more vampire scenes
for the next season after that:
- make Jed a main character, have him and Kaleb develop a friendship that turns into a relationship
- explore Hope with someone else, maybe Raf, maybe Josie, maybe one of those new human kids in Mystic Falls High,
- maybe Raf ends up with a bad wound like I'm talking life-ending and Hope feeds him her blood so he'll heal but he's killed soon after and then decides to continue on as a hybrid, the only half-werewolf half-vampire hybrid since Hope's parents, and now he feels even more like an outcast
- and Hope feels extremely responsible for him, and hell, maybe in the process of all that they fall in love or maybe they realize they should just be friends and develop one of the best loyal friend tropes of all time (like im legit alright if they get together or if they don't, much like my sexuality, i can go both ways)
- around the time Jed becomes a main character and Raf turns into a hybrid is when the wolves should get a bigger spotlight,
- im thinking, someone's been targeting the school, and so far the only ones reported hurt were werewolf students
- it's eventually discovered that the remaining founding families have been recently activated again and the Council is up and running, plus now that Matt left his Sheriff position there really isn't anyone on the council to give a supporting voice for the school
- make it a whole loyalty to the pack thing, the pack being the entire school
- see, the wolves think they're targetted because it's 'easier', vampire's are faster and tricky, witches are powerful and are able to get out of any trap that isn't magical (which since it's humans trying to get them, it won't be) leaving the werewolves out to be the only ones for the more trigger happy council members to go after
- how do the council members know which students are what species?
- im thinking whoever is leading the council has been paying off a witch on the side for information, which further concludes to his own hypocrisy
- anyway, the wolves are obviously not happy being targeted and wanna fight back, the wolf pack in question are set in mind they're the only ones who want to get restitution bc the teachers don't want to fight anyone and they honestly believe the witches and vampires don't care about a few hurt wolves, maybe they even recoil Hope's help because sure, she'll hang around the witches, maybe MG and Kaleb, but when's the last time she joined them during the full moon or any other day?
- that could be around the time Raf goes after Hope and they're attacked and Raf is hurt and this where the hybrid storyline comes in
- anyway, it all ends with the witches and the vampires backing up the wolves before they head down to a big fight maybe? idk the specifics i just know they tell the wolves that they're all a pack, the whole school is a pack because they stick together and they protect each other, and then they kick some ass, take out the council leader, make amends with the remaining council that now has a different purpose: to represent the human faction in terms of supernatural occurrences in their town
- the idea was submitted by Hope, as she recalls New Orleans having a similar setup, one representative for each faction, human included
(yes, this is a thing, it happened in S1, Cami's uncle, Father O'Connell was the human representative, and then there were a few more that ended up dead after they disrespected Klaus during a meeting that same season)
thoughts?
idk, let me know
