new reading material

I wanna add this because you only learn if you educate yourself, so I think it's important to expose you guys to successful and well made fanfics here on Wattpad.

if any of you are looking for any new reading material based on the TVD Universe (or Teen Wolf, The Flash, the MCU's Spiderman, and/or Hogwarts based) please check out my reading lists.

I only add stories that I believe are truly well written, thought out and unique. The books that I add are books that I've read and love and just want to share with the world.

Here are some examples of my top favorites from each list if you're interested, I also have a reading list for just LGBT books, the majority of which are completed and have all been read by yours truly.

If you're interested in just TVD Universe books:

For The Vampire Diaries:

#1 Black Magic by kaci

It's based on season three of TVD and stars Henrik Mikaelson, the immortal witch of the family brought to the town by Klaus after he deems Rebekah as missing. While there he is instructed by Klaus to woo or at least get Carol Lockwood's youngest son, Ethan, to fancy him.

One of the reasons I love this book the most is because I was there when it was first getting on its hind legs, I saw how Henrik's mentally developed and how this town treated him, it made me aware of a lot of things like mental health and toxicity that I never really paid attention to because I was much younger. So this book sort of taught me that it's actually a really important thing to remind people of and be aware of. And I want to thank this author for teaching me that.

#2 New York by Keisha

For those of you who ever watched or read the Witches of East End you're going to like this book. It's not a crossover, more like the author took those characters and placed them in the TVD Universe. Damon Salvatore is in New York, the year was 1976 and he met a very interesting bartender with a sharp tongue.

Reading this is such a blast, it's set in 1970's New York and we get to see the book through the eyes of Damon Salvatore, most of fanfictions are through the love interests eyes so this was very interesting. It is definitely my favorite Damon fic and it's just so very touching. I laughed, cried and reread this book so much, honestly, this author has a way with words.

#3 Heartlines by kaci

Teenage Rowan is dealing with the usual small town problems. Not failing her next algebra test, trying to keep busy, hiding her sexuality from friends and family, and dealing with becoming a bloodsucking creature of the night.

I think this is the first Elena love story I've ever found, straight or gay, and I'm in love?? Rowan is a delight to read, especially when it comes to her epic battles of sarcasm with Damon. But none compared when Henrik Mikaelson joins the fun. This story has a twist with Elena and Rowan forming a relationship and trying to survive in Mystic Falls. Honestly, just, I love Kaci's writing and this is a great book, you should check it out.

#4 villains of circumstance by jane

A Kai Parker story during his wild teenage years and before he got sent to the prison world. This late 80's fic gives you an intriguing look into what would happen if someone actually did end up dating Kai Parker. A very psychological thrilling story that has that classic Veronica and JD from Heathers feel, you won't be disappointed.

I think what I like most about this story was how surprised Daisy got me with every turn. I thought she'd either be a hidden insane jem like Kai was before 1994, or she'd be this innocent flower that Kai would mentally abuse like in most of his fics where they romanticize abuse (bleh). But really, this story is much more realistic when it comes to it, if Kai and his family weren't witches it could totally count as a realistic fictional thriller story. Daisy feels real and makes mistakes and tried to make up for them, she really is a villain of circumstance. I highly urge you to check out this story.

#5 Nirvana by: heather

Nirvana tells the tale of a destructive witch Nirvana and how she finds herself trapped in 1994 reliving the same day over and over again with only one person for company: a slightly mad siphoner witch who got there a decade prior to her arrival.

This book started out pretty slow but it built up to something rich and interesting. I never had the pleasure of reading about a morally grey character who was just as insane as her love interest, this book taught me that writing characters like Kai don't always have to be the antagonist. This book isn't afraid of being evil and deranged, that's what makes it thrilling. This is probably the first book that had me itching for every update.

The author is currently rewriting it and it isn't on her profile so in the mean time enjoy her other awesome fics and stay tuned for when it comes back around, it's a great read and you're gonna want to be along for the ride.

for The Originals:

#1 Blue by kaci

This is the sequel to Black Magic. Blue takes you on a journey where Henrik meets a new love interest that could be here to stay.

I really don't know what else to say other than this relationship is so healthy, they try and talk to each other the most they can and they let each other know if something isn't right. It's very honest and loving and just very pleasing to see Henrik happy with someone.

#2 Living by Tiff

I gotta be honest, though I've finished it, I haven't reread it in a while. What I remember especially about this is how well written it was. The character Bexley is the perfect person for Elijah, from her personality to her choices, you just know she and Elijah were meant to be. I was really impressed that the author kept her human for the book when most people would've made her into something supernatural either at the start or somewhere down the line. You can see how challenging it would be for a human to be around the Originals (other than Cami, damn, for a minute I forgot about her, sorry man) and how truly brave she is in their presence and loyalty towards them.

That's the end of my top favorites for the universe, if you're interested in The Flash, MCU's Spiderman and/or Draco Malfoy, please keep reading.
Especially if you're interested in proper character plots and development.

For a Peter Parker fic:

Renegades by Cass

Okay, I don't think I'm overreacting when I say that this book does not get the attention is rightfully deserves.

This book is an LGBT one and again, one of the best out there. What I love about this one is that it really focuses on the main character, Ashton. It really makes Ashton his own person rather than pairing him with Peter the second they meet. It establishes him as someone with a family and how everyday things can affect him. He goes through a lot of self-discovery and realization that I think is important. It's anti-hate, it's a very positive book and makes you really happy when these boys get together. Set in modern times the boys are very respectful and honest around each other which is a very important thing in a relationship and honestly, this book is just very well made and deserves more reads.

For a Draco Malfoy fic:

The Furies by Em

Okay, I have purposefully stayed away from this book because I got so invested that I was checking my phone for updates every day. So, I've let the updates accumulate and have waited for the right day to read chapter after chapter for a rainy day.

But let's get into how awesome this book is. This not only features a strong female lead but it's one that isn't scared to do what is asked of her, she's willing to protect her loved ones and doesn't apologize for doing so. The best part is early on in her speech to the Golden Trio about what type of person she is, she sets it straight, is honest and isn't looking for pity. Pro-Slytherin and a boss, Andromeda is the best female lead that I've read about set in the Hogwarts world in a long time. But that's not all it is, it's greatly aware of how she really is suffering from endless nights work, the sleep deprivation, the paranoia, and how little she's keeping herself healthy. It reminds us that even wizards and witches can break down emotionally and mentally.

I also have a Teen Wolf reading list but I won't mention any since I'd have to mention at least three or five and I still want this to stay a TVD based guidebook. (So stay on the lookout for a possible How Not to Write a Teen Wolf Fanfiction).

I really hope you guys check these books out and learn from them.
