fun chapter i forgot to post a while back that i was inspired to write after a comment war on youtube so why not

despite the title, i wont be pitting them against each other

there has been some controversy in which of these two characters are worse people and i just wanna clear some stuff up so we can all get the right idea

it's Kai

Kai's worse

how do we determine that?

well,

- goes on a murder spree and kills four of his siblings

- wanting his four year old siblings dead and attempts to murder them

- tries to murder them again when they were grown up

- was legit the reason why bonnie had ptsd during S6, he shot her with an arrow, hunted her, drugged her, and stabbed her again

- wanting lizzie and josie dead when they were little kids

- murdering his pregnant twin on her wedding day in the middle of her vows

- is literally a sociopath

and while most of you might've just skipped a lot of TVD after the Mikaelsons or Elena left or maybe stopped watching TVD and focused on TO all together, it's clear everyone knows more about Klaus than Kai

Klaus has done plenty of horrible things, probably has the highest kill count of like anyone that ever lived

but let me tell you that Kai is still worse than he is, yes i still love the character, his whole concept was genius and i loved his storyline and performance as well as Klaus' but im not talking about that, im talking who they are as characters and who's a worse person

when it comes down to it, Klaus wants a family, he wants to be loved and accepted and just be happy, sure some of that involves being the guy in charge, mainly out of his manic need for control because he also has that need to control everything because he feels that if he doesnt, people he loves and cares for will leave him because he was one deep dark fear inside of him that he has said to have seen in Stefan, which is one of the reasons he craves his friendship. In the backdoor pilot for his spin off set in TVD S04E20 even Katherine confirms having the same fear that Klaus has. He does all of that from that fear. Loneliness.

Klaus has a daughter that he loves, that he would give the world for, he would destroy it for her too if she asked by him to.

Kai has killed many of his siblings, if I'm not mistaken I think he also killed his dad later on, maybe? Idk. But while many of you might think 'killing his siblings isn't as worse as killing thousands of people like Klaus' yes this is true. The amount of kills obviously direct to Klaus as being worse.

But I'm not talking about who's caused more harm or evil or for how long, I'm talking about their characters. Which one, deep down is truly a worse person.

You see, Kai murdered his siblings, even his favorite little brother Joey, whom he drowned in the pool.

If Klaus had ever killed any of his siblings, he would be racked with guilt. He'd go on tantrums and self-hate and it wouldn't be pretty. Yes, Klaus killed his mother, but that was a stage of anger coming from his werewolf side that was heightened by the vampire curse, despite having the werewolf side dormant, he was still in the early days of transition. He killed his mother in a fit of rage after she cursed his wolf side to be dormant and having to live with the fact that he'll be the only one of his kind forever. [what he thought at the time]. And when she came back, he could barely look her in the eye, a sign of guilt.

Even when Elijah was begging him to kill him in S5 of TO, he begged him to put the Hollow's darkness in him and kill him so at least that way Hope would still have her father, but Klaus couldn't bring himself to do it.

He wanted to tear Jeremy and Elena apart and hunt them to their end when he saw Kol's flaming body. He didn't care about the cure, about Elena being a human doppelgänger again for his hybrids, he wanted revenge for his brother.

Kai himself said that he's not racked with things like guilt and love (before he merged with Luke, but even after that and after he became a heretic he was still very much Kai, I mean he stabbed his pregnant sister at her own wedding in the middle of her vows).

Klaus however is capable of guilt and love. Kai is not, the only reason he was feeling guilt was because of Luke's side so it wasn't even Kai to begin with.
