Chapter 39

A/N: I've been working on this whenever I had some slight availability in my hectic schedule of exams and assignments.

Anyway, I'm splitting this chapter into two. So I can update and publish something, and to not make a chapter unnecessarily long. Which I will fix on FanFiction.net when I have the time. But for the time being, enjoy some changes regarding the interaction between Knightwalker and Erza when it comes to Lucy. Heh. Love those two.

Please enjoy?

Because magic was limited, Knightwalker preferred to walk to conserve what little she had left for when it was necessary to use them. All they need to do was reach the city of Louen. It's a perfect town to stock up on the necessities for the inevitable upcoming battle. Since the Earthlanders are in this world, Knightwalker knew that a battle will surely happen. If Lisanna's stories are of any indications on how wild they are...

But she did not account for the shameless flirting behind her, between her counterpart and Heartfilia. Were they mocking her? Probably not. But still, did they really have to do it now?

So, she increased her pace, keeping a safe distance from the shameless flirting of the two foreign mages. Even under dire situations, they still find time to flirt. Eartlanders are weird. And it pissed her off.

When the three finally stepped into the open clearing, Lucy looked around, entranced by the beautiful color schematics of Edolas. "This place is really pretty. It would be cool to live here." Of course, she knew that she can't stay here, but it's fine to just wonder what it's like to stay here, right?

"A world without magic..." Erza muttered to herself before she raised her voice, "I prefer our world."

"You don't see flying rivers a lot in our world."

"They're dumb."

"Erza, no need to be shy." Lucy joked and poked the redhead in the cheeks. "You like them, do you?"

"I don't want to be in the same world as that skimpy whore over there."

A tick was formed on her forehead as Knightwalker overheard them. She glanced over her shoulders with a glare. "I could say the thing, metal freak."

"That nickname is reserved for Gajeel. Find something else." Erza countered with a scowl.

"A red pighead like you need to learn their lesson."

"I think Mira said that one before."

"Mira's too poli-..." Knightwalker frowned when she almost forgot that there's different versions of themselves. "Bloody GG."

Erza was about to resort back, but Lucy beat her to the punch. "How much longer till we get there?" There's no reason to argue. Why are they even arguing?

The Edolas redhead stared at the blonde for a few seconds before she turned to look forward and saw a glimpse of their destination. "Not long. The city of Louen is just in the distance."

Lucy held Erza's hand and it was quiet during the rest of the walk

When they finally arrived at the designated city, depressing was not what Lucy nor Erza had expected. They were expecting a much livelier city, bursting with people. But no, they all seemed depressed, like they seen all life had to offer, and it wasn't the good ones.

Erza stared at the numerous houses, all with similar windows. "Now that we're here, why exactly are we here?"

"We are going to go through this town. If we want to go through the Royal Capital, we need to go through this town first. But before that, we should grab couple of things."

Erza was about to ask what kind of things they needed to pick up, but before she got the chance to, there was a faint commotion up ahead. Knightwalker's first thought was to take a detour and avoid unnecessary attention.

"We should take a detour." The Edolas redhead announced. But when she heard nothing back from the two foreigners, she turned to see that the two were already walking towards the commotion, something that they shouldn't be doing. "Idiots." Why did she agree to help them? She took in a deep breath and gripped her spear and followed them. She agreed to help them, so she feels responsible if anything were to happen. Ah, she regrets everything!

"Ack! Why can't I use it?!" A loud familiar voice was heard.

"Damn you!" Another familiar voice was registered.

Erza and Lucy glanced at each other for a split second, a sense of familiarity washed over them when they heard those voices. They ran forward towards the commotion and when they got closer, they saw several familiar mages. Natsu, Wendy, and the two cats were surrounded by soldiers with raised weapons.

"If I could use them, this wouldn't happen!" Natsu muttered angrily as he glared at the offending soldiers.

"Aye." Happy agrees as he tried to shield Carla, not like it'll do much good.

While Natsu was too busy glaring at the soldiers, Wendy caught a whiff of something familiar and turned to the direction of where it was coming from. "Lucy-Mama? Erza-Papa?" Then her eyes laid on the two mages and a smile formed, happy to see them. Then she frowned when she laid her eyes on another Erza.

"Come on you bastards!" Natsu roared as he ignored Wendy in favor of letting out his frustration on not being able to use magic. What's the big deal?! "Give me your best shot." He cracked his knuckles.

"Stay here Lucy." Erza ordered before she dashed off and summoned two swords, not leaving any room for Lucy to complain or argue.

Knightwalker seemed to have the same idea as Erza, as she rushed out to rid of the soldiers. Lucy stood in place as a pile of soldiers were formed at the side, and a temporary peace was ensued. She almost felt bad for these soldiers. Almost.

Not a moment later, Natsu smiled at Knightwalker. "Thanks for the save, Erza." He paused for a second before he grinned. "Though you look like a stripper with those clothes. What's 'sup with those anyway? Armor looks better on you. Or are you trying something new with Lucy?"

A dark aura surrounded Knightwalker, but the pick-haired boy didn't seem to notice. She was half surprised that the boy hadn't cowered away. Definitely an Earthlander.

"I think she definitely approves!" Natsu raised a thumb up in approval before she leaned towards her, which one of Knightwalker's eye twitched in annoyance.

Once she knew that the danger was minimal and safe, Lucy joined the rest of the mages and approached Wendy to make sure that she was okay. "I'm glad you're okay!"

"Lucy-Mama!" The small dragon-slayer cried and jumped into Lucy's embrace.

"How are you here? How did you and Natsu get here?" Lucy asked as she visually checked for any wounds. But didn't find anything, which is good.

Wendy then pulled away at that question and a frown formed. "I really don't know. I think what ever had sucked our town does not affect dragon slayers and exceeds. How are you two here?"

"My sprit saved us, and Mystogan brought us here."

"Mystogan?"

At the mention of that man's name, Erza interrupted, "In any case." she started as she made her way toward Lucy and Wendy, "We need to get to the Royal Capital to save our friends."

"That's where we were heading, but we were suddenly ambushed." Carla added.

"And for some reason, we couldn't use our magic." Wendy added.

"You can't use it?" Lucy frowned, and it only deepened when Wendy shook her head.

"Stop this chattering and find a place to stay so we can talk about this." Knightwalker cut in with crossed arm. "You're drawing too much attention!" Then she eyed the two Exceeds and wondered why they're with them. She'll need to keep an eye on them.

"Why are there two Erzas?!" Natsu suddenly exclaimed when he realized the existence of Knightwalker when Erza stood next to her. He glanced at Knightwalker, then at Erza, then at Knightwalker again. Then he remembered what he said to Knightwalker, who still had that hard aura around her. "Don't eat me?" He squeaked.

Knightwalker stared blankly at the dragonslayer; so he is a coward. Just a different kind of cowardice?

Lucy moved and wrapped her arms around Erza's and decided to follow Knightwalker's advice and get off the streets. "Knightwalker is right. We need to find a place to stay and come up with a plan to save our friends."

Nothing else was said as everyone agreed and Knightwalker took them to the nearest hotel to stay for the night.

...

Happy, Carla, Natsu, Lucy, and Wendy were huddled at a table, looking a map of the capital.

"Okay, so we are in a town called Sycca. We need to go through a town called Traia in order to get to the Royal Captial." Carla said as she pointed at a specific place on the map.

"It's a pretty long way to get to the capital..." Natsu commented, staring at the map.

"And if Lucy-Mama's right about us being targeted, then we need to be careful, so we won't be discovered by the Royal Army." Wendy added.

"Might be better if we stick to the shadows." Lucy said.

Natsu gasped and grinned before he unwrapped his scarf and rewrapped it around his head. "Like a ninja!"

Happy cheered at that. "Aye!"

Lucy thought of this. "But we're a large group, I think we would gain too much attention anyway."

"You were seriously considering that?" Carla frowned.

"I said knock it off!" A voice boomed from the bathroom, interrupting whatever Lucy was about to say.

Lucy turned her head to the door and watched silently as the two redheads stepped out of the bathroom. Erza quickly equipped back into her regular armor, and Knightwalker wore a towel around her. Erza looked unhappy while Knightwalker looked curious and fascinated. Lucy was about to asked what was happening, but Knightwalker spoke first.

"You people are interesting. We may be two different people, but we have the exact same body type."

"Even birthmarks? Lucy asked.

Knightwalker narrowed her eyes at the blonde, reminded once again on the level of intimacy between her and Scarlet. "Yes, even our birthmarks that are on our butt cheeks."

Erza turned to her counterpart with a scowl. "Satisfied now?"

"On the contrary." Knightwalker muttered as she poked the armored mage in the cheek and pulled on them. "Fascinating."

Erza found herself resisting more and more to impale this redhead. But wouldn't that seem like she's hurting herself? Stupid doppelgangers.

Lucy smiled at the sight. Then an idea came to Natsu, and he stood up with a grin. He turned to the blonde. "Hey, you should summon Gemini!"

"Gemini?" Knightwalker repeated and stopped her innocent activity on her angry counterpart. When Erza felt her cheeks free of her counterpart's hands, she swiftly moved next to Lucy's side.

"I have a spirit that transform to look exactly like another person." The blonde answered the redhead's query.

That can transform to look like someone else? Sounds too good to be true. But so is swords appearing out of thin air. She wanted to see this Gemini. "Let's see it." She ordered.

"No." Erza deadpanned as she stared at Knightwalker. "Summoning a zodiac spirit drains tons of magic."

"She's not wrong. Maybe next time." Lucy said.

Knightwalker huffed. "Well, then. We should get back to making a plan and stop playing around."

"...They are so similar." Carla commented, as she discerned how alike both Erza and Knightwalker were. "I do not know who is worst."

"And I have been thinking...why are the exceeds here?" Knightwalker finally asked.

Carla decided to jump on the table and glare at Knightwalker. "Just because you are a person that looks like Erza, doesn't mean I will be nice to you. You and Erza and completely the same."

Erza faced Carla with anger in her eyes. "The only thing that she does not have is my Lucy, I refuse to share my Lucy with this person!" Erza shouted, pointing at Knightwalker.

Several ticks formed on Knightwalker's head as she glared at her counterpart. Another needlessly reminder. "I wouldn't want to share anything with you either, you shank."

Erza turned to her with a glower. "Wanna repeat that again?"

How many times had Lucy tried to stop an argument between these two? It was getting annoying. "Guys. Stop fighting." She grabbed Erza's hands and pulled her toward herself to keep her close. Mostly to keep her in check. "We have other things to focus on."

"I agree." Erza smiled and smiled warmly at her smaller girlfriend. When Lucy realized when she was staring at her, she blushed.

Knightwalker huffed at their display of affections and frowned that nobody had answered her questions concerning the Exceeds. But they seemed friendly with them... She'll think more on this later. "We should call this a night and resume this tomorrow."

"Sounds good." Erza turned to Knightwalker. "You and Natsu can share the floor. Wendy, Lucy and I will take the be- ow! Lucy why did you hit me?" Erza frowned at her blonde girlfriend.

Lucy didn't answer her and turned to Knightwalker and Natsu. "If there's not enough beds, I'm sure we could always rent another room."

"Don't worry about that. I'm sure Natsu and I can get alone nicely to share the floor." Knightwalker smirked and Natsu sweated bullets at that.

"I can sleep outside." The dragonslayer offered.

Knightwalker turned to him. "Nonsense. I need to see how you and my world version of you are similar. I thought you weren't a coward like he his... but I guess I was wrong." She took mental note of how the boy paled as she scanned him. "Same height, hair, eyes... hmm... how about down there?"

"Can you not do that? There's a child here!" Lucy covered Wendy's ears, although that was for naught since the little girl's hearing is better than most.

Carla jumped to the floor and stood in front of Wendy. "If you taint this girl, I will scratch your eyes out." She threatened.

"Y-Yes, please. What Lugia said." Natsu nervously said.

Knightwalker sighed before she gave up. "Very well. We shall continue this tomorrow."

Carla was silent as the skimpy redhead sauntered to the other side of the room. Goodness gracious, both versions of Erzas are equally bad. My heart can't take this..." She muttered the last dramatically, to which Wendy chuckled.

"I'm sure it's not as bad as you think, Carla."

"Hmph."

A/N: Just to be clear, there's nothing between Edolas Natsu and Knightwalker. Knightwalker is just overly curious.

Hope you liked this chapter! :)
