**Chapter 23**

A/N: I've revised this chapter, edited some grammar scenes and deleted some others. No major changes, and I want to thank my best friend @TimeLady_20 for helping me.

The mages questioned the sanity of the adults that would even allow a petite girl go on a dangerous mission such as this. The only person that seemed to ignore this fact was Jura.

"All the guilds are now present." Jura stated, getting things started.

"Still, sending such a tender child on a major operation like this. What in heaven is Cait Shelter thinking?" Shelly mumbled, wondering if it would best to send the girl back.

"Oh." Another voice called out, gaining the attention of the mages with curiosity. "She isn't alone, gaudy woman." It was a white talking cat as she entered the room.

All Lucy could think was about how similar the cat was to Happy. It walked on its hind legs. And it spoke too! She always assumed that Happy was one of a kind. She turned to see Happy's reaction of the new addition in the room. What she was not expecting to see was the love stricken expression on the cats face.

Heh. Love at first sight eh? Lucy suddenly felt evil.

Carla! You followed me? Wendy turned around, surprised that someone even followed her.

"Of course. I would never be able to rest easy if I let you go all alone." Carla said, crossing her arms.

Lucy kept her attention on the blue cat, sensing a great opportunity for a good revenge. Happys eyes evolved into heart-shaped eyes and left reality into a love-stricken world.

Happy? Lucy whispered to see just how love stricken the cat is.

Happy looked like he was about to melt the moment that his eyes met with Carlas. Yep, totally love stricken. He stumbled over to Lucy with a fish that magically appeared in his little blue paws, "Lucy, go give her my fish." He pleaded with hearts in his eyes.

All Lucy wanted to do was to tease this cat for all of the times he teased her. That was a perfect opportunity for her, hehe. "You're in looooooove."

"You stole that from me!" He exclaimed with an offended look. "Plus, you said it three times stronger than I do!"

Lucy chuckled. This was fun. She should tease people more often In fact, what if she teased Erza?

"Umm...I can't fight at all, but I can use all kinds of helpful support magic...so please...so please don't leave me out of the group!" Wendy said, fidgeting with her clothes.

"That timid attitude is why people look down on you!" Carla nagged with a motherly expression.

"I-I'm sorry."

"Quit being so quick to apologize." Carla nagged again, a little irritated.

"I'm sorry!"

Charle sighed and gave up.

Erza broke out of her previous shock and stepped forward to speak. My apologies, it wasnt my intention to offend you. Its a pleasure to meet you, Wendy.

"Hope we can get along." Lucy added as she moved next to Erza.

Wendy became flustered, as if she was meeting a celebrity for the first time. "It's Ms. Erza and Lucy! It's really them, Carla."

"They're prettier than I thought." Carla confessed, speaking as if she didnt have high expectations for when she would meet mages from an infamous guild.

"Lucy, do you sense something different about her?" Erza whispered to Lucy, gesturing to Wendy, who was being spoiled by the Trimen.

What do you mean?

I dont know

I told you before! They aren't here to pay a visit! Clean up at once!" Ichiya ordered while making a weird pose with millions of gayness sparkled around him.

"Certainly, our dear master!" The Trimen yelled in unison as they got rid of the couch and table in a flash.

"Now then." Ichiya started, undertaking a pose that was absolutely unnecessary. "As it appears everyone is here, allow me to explain the operation. First, is the location where the Oracion Seis, the 'six demon generals' have gathered." Ichiya stood in his pose for a couple of seconds, as if trying to show off his good double chin side. (is it really?) "But first, I require the use of the toilet parfum."

Um...Is he serious? Lucy mumbled, doubting the strength of this man.

His strength is undoubtable. He can be very unlikeable sometimes. Erza muttered.

"Understandable."

Then the air tingled. A familiar tingle that only Lucy could distinguish. Something felt different. She scanned the room for any irregularities. No one was using their magic, yet Lucy felt sensitive to the magic that seems to be emitting elsewhere. She needs to keep her guard up, she has a feeling that something may happen soon.

What felt like an eternity later, Ichiya finally came back, and the meeting resumed. "To the north lies the enormous Worth Woodsea. The ancients sealed a powerful magic deep inside it. It was known as Nirvana."

Lucy felt uneasy the more she listened. The magic she felt earlier, felt more stronger, as if its standing right in front of her. There should be no reason for anyone to use their magic. There must be an enemy nearby.

"All we know is that it was a destructive magic so powerful that the ancients had to seal it away."

"But we don't know what kind of magic it actually is."

This feeling of magical residue is nagging at Lucy. The more she thought about it, the more she realized that the power she is feeling is similar to that of celestial magic.

"We can only assume the Oracion Seis have gathered in the forest in order to obtain Nirvana. To prevent that from happening, we will destroy Oracion Seis." Ichiya professed while he and the Trimen posed (as usual).

Interestingly enough, the feeling is coming from Ichiya.

"There's twelve of us, and six of them. But we mustn't take them lightly. Those six are tremendously powerful." Hibiki explained as he snapped his fingers, and something appeared next to him that looked like a computer, archive magic.

The archive revealed pictures of six generals, and Hibiki started explaining the known information on each of the generals.

The more Wendy learned about these mages, the more fearful she became. Fighting isnt really my thing

No worries, you dont need to fight. All you need to do is help us locate their stronghold. Ichiya assured the little girl.

"Stronghold?" Natsu perked up at this. Guess we all can guess what hes thinking, eh?

"That's right. We still have yet to locate it." Ren said.

"But it would be logical to assume they have a temporary base of operations somewhere in the woodsea." Eve added.

"If possible, we would like you to gather them all in that base." Ichiya said.

"How?" Gray asked.

"By beating their brains out, obviously!" Natsu roared. He was definitely fired up.

The plan in itself seems faulty enough. If the members were as powerful as they are, then it would be excruciatingly difficult to gather then in one place. "Why would you want them to gather in one place, when we can take them out separately? So we don't have to face two of them at the same time." Lucy asked, narrowing her eyes at the pervert little man.

"We will use our guild's prized Pegasus, which we call Christina to utterly annihilate their base and them with it!" Ichiya explained, as if he was expecting the very question to arise.

"Are you referring to the magical bomber?" Sherry wondered.

"That sounds good and all, but I doubt they would stay in one place for us. And we will have to have some of our men down there to make sure they stay in place. I think the plan is faulty." Lucy protested.

"Faulty?" Erza speculated, thinking back on the plan that was just spoken "Why would you say that?"

Lucy knew that the generals wont sit still for them to do as they please. The generals will most likely stop us before that happens. Before that happens?... The slight realization hit the blonde, piecing together that nagging feeling she felt before.

Lucy?

She checked her pockets, but none of her keys were activated. That could only mean one thing: the enemy had infiltrated the operation.

Lucy?..

Are you really. Lucy started, staring at the little pervert, hoping that her speculations were wrong. But her intuition never failed her before. Are you really Ichiya?

"Of course. Why would you ask me that, men." Ichiya posed a stupid pose, unfazed by the random question from the blonde.

Erza curiously turned to Ichiya, then back at her girlfriend. She was confused, as well as the other mages in the room. But Lucy ignored them and focused on what she knew, and she knew that this Ichiya isnt what he seemed.

She recalled the celestial spirits that she knew and researched, and what their abilities were. It would be a spirit that can manipulate someone, or transform into a specific person. Transformation?

Gemini. Lucy blurted out.

Ichiya froze, only for a split second before feigning ignorance.

Youre Gemini, a celestial spirit. Lucy was more than certain now.

Ichiya, or the person who was impersonating the man, was visibly surprised. "My, my. It's impressive that you could see past our façade. Ichiya grinned before disappearing into a puff of smoke, and two little blue spirits were in his place. We must get going now." Just like that, Gemini disappeared before any of the mages could say anything.

It shouldnt be said that their plans were already exposed and ruined. They needed to think of a new plan, or improvise.

"Where's the real Ichiya?" Hibiki cried.

"He should be fine. He should still be in the bathroom." Lucy said. "The plan that Ichiya...or Gemini was talking about seemed too faulty. Christina can be used as a backup."

"In any case, we have to save Ichiya." The Trimen cried as they ran into the bathroom.

"No...just leave him to rot." Erza grimaced as the Trimen disappeared. "He's useless."

Lucy chuckled a bit. "We need to think of a new plan."

"Since there are six demon generals and twelve of us, I say we should be paired in two. One demon general for two people." Jura said with a serious tone. "Do not fight alone."

Everyone agreed to that. It was more logical than trying to gather all six in one place. Good chance it wouldn't work anyway.

"I'm all fired up!" Natsu roared as he ran and broke through the front door, disappearing within the horizon.

"Wait, Natsu! We need to pair up!" Lucy yelled after him, but it was useless, Natsu was gone.

"He's unbelievable." Erza frowned and shook her head.

"We can pair up once we catch up with him. Let's go." Lucy lurched forward into a running start, the others following from behind, trying to catch up to an ecstatic dragon slayer.

Natsu suddenly stopped in front of a looming cliff, as if the smell appalled him. He felt that something was different. "Man, the place sure smells weird."

"Come on, pick up the pace guys." Natsu yelled, seeing that he was the first one at the cliff. Man they are all slowpokes.

"You fool!" Erza yelled, not too far away, but running faster in order to try to beat the crap out of Natsu for acting on impulse.

But Natsu wasn't paying attention, he was too busy trying to figure the nasty smell he was smelling. But before he could continue his waste effort of investigating the smell, he was rudely knocked over by Gray

"What's the big deal!?" Natsu growled with his face in Gray's.

"Don't just stop in your tracks like that!" Gray retorted.

Before a fight could escalate any further, Erza decided to push their face away at an unnatural angle. "Look!"

When the mages gathered at the cliff, they all turned their heads where Erza was fixated at.

They all spied a gigantic mechanical horse in the sky.

"The magic bomber, Christina." Jura noted with a grin.

Everyone was in awe of how pretty and powerful-looking it was. Because it looked very majestic as it floated graciously through the sky.

"Ok. We should now split up in pairs. Do not run off again, Natsu." Lucy narrowed her eyes at Natsu.

"Sheesh. Fine." Natsu half heartedly responded while picking his nose.

"Natsu." Erza warned, lowering her tone and glared at the pink-haired mage with a murderous look.

Natsu began to sweatdropped at the look he was receiving from the redhead. "O-Ok...I'll stay."

"Alright, now we should pick the best pairing with the best fighting chance in battling against a general." Lucy said, getting straight to it.

"Lucy will be with me." Erza blurted out, seizing the chance to keep the blonde next to her.

The blonde only chuckled softly at that. She was half expecting Erza to say something like that. It was adorable though.

"Now then-"

Lucy was so rudely interrupted by a loud eruption from the sky. All eyes immediately turned to the source, only to see Christina being riddled with small explosions. The machine began to fall ungraciously to the ground, followed by a giant loud explosion.

It was clear that the enemy was one step ahead of them, and their odds were against them. Their mission clearly went on a bad start.

It wasn't long before six figures arose from the smoke. Soon, it was revealed to be the mages that they were hunting; Oracion Seis.

Instinctively, Erza moved in front of Lucy as she stared at the six mages and summoned a sword. Lucy didn't mind it, but she brought out her keys in anticipation regardless as one can never be too careful. The other mages got in their attack mode, ready for anything. Wendy, however, cowered behind a rock.

"Lowly maggots, all swarming together." The commander, Brain muttered as he stared at the masses of mages clumped together.

"I wonder how that girl knew about Gemini." The girl, Angel, wondered as she looked at Lucy with venom in her voice.

"You're flustered. I can hear it." The snake man, Cobra smirked.

"The quicker to finish the work, the better. And you people are in our way." The sharp pointing man, Racer said.

"Money gives one strength! Yes! Let me give you a tip: money is everything in this world. And-" The stoned man, Hoteye said before he was interrupted by Cobra and Racer to shut up.

Then there was a man that was sleeping on a flying rug...snoring, to which Lucy identified to be Midnight.

"I would never have imagined you would show yourself to us." Erza narrowed her eyes as she summoned a sword. You made our job easier for us.

Natsu and Gray were the first to lunge forward, itching for a fight. Soon, the others decided to join the fight and try to take out the six demons.

"Lucy. Stay close." Erza ordered.

"Erza I can fight too." Lucy takes out her whip and her Leo key. She only agreed to go on this mission to become stronger.

Erza grumbled under her breath, but reluctantly allowed her to fight. "Then make sure you're close."

Lucy smiled. "Of course."

"I can hear you." Cobra smirked as he neared the young Fairy Tail girls. He could hear the happy thoughts of the girls. Hearing the words of love and hope, he was eagerly tempted to destroy such thoughts. And he had an inkling that they were in an intimate relationship. He shall bestow upon them the worst despair.

Unbeknownst to Cobra's plan, Erza summoned into her Heavenly Armor and fifty floating swords. Her swords immediately flew straight towards where Cobra stood.

Cobra, on the other hand dodged the swords with ease, as if he already knew the path of the swords.

Erza immediately saw how easily he dodged her swords with little effort.

As Lucy battled against Angel, she couldnt help but glance in Erzas direction. This is the first mission together with Erza since they started going out. She couldnt help but be worried about the redhead. What if something happens? Just the thought of that made her afraid.

She glanced in Erzas direction again, and saw that she was struggling against Cobra, and two other generals. Three against one? This was what Lucy was afraid of.

She made a split decision, one that didnt need much thought, and abandoned her fight with Angel, and dashed toward the battlefield between Erza and the three generals.

As she neared the fight, she spotted something else. A snake that was creeping behind the redhead. It was the same snake that accompanied Cobra. It was getting closer and closer and about to pounce on the redhead. Lucy panicked, without thinking about the consequence that would follow. She ran over and knocked Erza to the side. But right at that moment, the snake buried its fangs into Lucys arm.

The moment the snakes fangs bit into Lucys skin, she felt something rushing into her system. The venom immediately paralyzed her, and it felt so excruciating. She collapsed to the ground with a heavy thud, and clutched the area where she got bit.

Lucy!? Eza yelled with panic in her voice. She tried to go to her side, but one of the generals. Hoteye, ambushed her, and smacked her to a tree, farther away from where her blonde lover was .

All across the battlefield, all of the mages were soon overwhelmed by the sudden appearance of Oracion Seis.

"Pathetic trash. Prepare to be no more." Brain muttered before activating one of his spells. Dark green magical energy started to pool out from the ground, converging to his staff. "Dark Rondo!"

But before he could unleash his attack, something had caught his eye. He seemed so surprised that his green mystic magic had dispersed. He was looking straight at Wendy, who was still hiding behind the rock.

He made a split decision and changed his tactic. He quickly took the petite girl as prisoner, who had somehow grabbed Happy along with her. Wendy and Happy soon disappeared at the horizon, leaving a sour taste in Carla's mouth as she felt helpless to do anything.

Then Brain stopped and turned back to the mages. He raised his staff and finished the spell that he previously activated, and Dark Rondo was then released at the battered mages.

Erza got up from the ground after being smacked brutally against the tree, and noticed the impending doom. The first thing in her mind was that she needed to protect Lucy.

But she was too far away. Lucy!

Erza felt the world darkened as her hands failed to reach the blonde before the dark magic reached her. She was too late.

But there was no pain. But it was dark. Erza was still alive and safe.

Erza looked around, and found Jura standing behind her, who had managed to shield them in the nick of time. "That was a close call." Jura muttered.

The redhead turned her head to the direction of the blonde and saw that she was still alive, thanks to the shielding of Juras magic. Lucy! She ran over to her side and held her in her lap to keep her comfortable. Lucy, are you okay? Her voice cracked as she looked at the condition her lover was in.

Im..fine. Lucy muttered, trying to ignore the painful sensation near the bite wound.

The redhead clenched her teeth and held Lucy's hand. This is why I did not want you to come!"

"I'll come whether you like it or not."

Erza was hysterical and worried. Lucy was poisoned, and the poison is already spreading fast.

"Lucy!" Natsu yelled, and noticed that she was in an agitated state. "What happened?"

"She's poisoned." Erza replied, her tone filled with anger and venom. As if it wasnt already obvious that Lucy had been poisoned.

"I'll take care of it." Ichiya posed.

Erza turned to glare at the man, instinct protectiveness overcoming her sense. She's not taking any chances. "Don't you dare touch her!"

"He's going to use his perfume. It helped numb my pain. It should work with Lucy." Gray said, trying to calm Erza.

"Then what are you waiting for? Do your perfume thingy!" Erza ordered.

"Painkiller Parfumm! Fragrance increase!" Ichiya yelled, unleashing his perfume towards Lucy.

However, the effects of the perfume didnt work as it originally intended. In fact. It made it even worse, and the blonde shifted in agony.

"You're killing her!" Erza yelled, summoning a sword and tried to pierce Ichiya for making the girl suffer even more, but was held back by Gray and Natsu.

"It's not working?" Ichiya sweated, and felt that he wouldve lost his life if it wasnt for Natsu and Gray holding Erza back.

Erza felt hopeless. Hopeless to help her girlfriend from the pain that shes in.

"Wendy could save her."

All eyes turned to see that it was the white cat, Carla, that had spoken.

"Wendy? She can cure Lucy?" Erza looks at the white cat, new hope inhabiting her.

"Of course. She is a Sky Dragon Slayer." Carla said, like it was the most obvious thing ever.

Everyone was clearly shocked that a little girl seems to be a dragon slayer.

"Sky Dragon...Slayer...then we need to bring her back." Erza declared, not even caring that if a little kid knows lost magic. She doesn't care who, but Erza wants someone to cure Lucy. She doesn't want to lose her.

"Then it's settled. Gray and I will bring Wendy and Happy back." Natsu stated, pumping his fists together.

"Then the rest of us will go try to stop the six demons." Jura said.

"I'll stay here with Miss Lucy." Hibiki said.

"I'll stay here as well." Erza sat down next to Lucy.

"We need you to fight with us." Lyon protested.

Erza slammed her fist on the ground. "I'm not leaving Lucy."

The other mages didn't want to get on her bad side, so they didn't argue. So they went their separate ways, and improvised on their mission. Since they had failed their previous plan.

After the mages had left, leaving only Erza, Hibiki, and a pained blonde, the redhead sat next to Lucy. Awaiting for her gentle smile and her beautiful eyes.
