One Month Later

"You getting huge fast." India said to Carmen.

"Yes I feel huge to only be four months going on five." Carmen shook her head.

Since she left Steven he haven't tried contacting her. He miss an appointment. She told Derrick to let him know about it, but unfortunately he didn't show up.

"How you been?" India asked her.

"I'm good, eating up everything." Carmen nodded her head. "How's Steven?"

India sighed and looked away.

"Last I heard he been talking to some girl." India said.

"Oh that's nice. He sure do move on fast." Carmen mumbled.

"That's just Steven period." India said.

Carmen sighed. "Where Derrick?"

"With Steven. You want anything to eat?" India asked Carmen.

"Yeah sure, I sure can eat." Carmen rubbed her stomach.

The front door open, and Derrick walked in with Steven.

"Oooh what's up Car-Men? Haven't seen you in a long time. Where you been hiding at?" Derrick went to sit by Carmen.

"No where I been with my brother." Carmen said.

"Oh word. You hungry? You look hungry. Look at you. You are huge. Oh my gosh." Derrick covered his mouth. Carmen glared at him.

"You better be glad that didn't offend me, because you little behind would have gotten thrown across the room." Carmen said to him. Derrick move away from her.

"Your baby mama, violent Stevie." Derrick said to Steven, who eyes was in his phone. He looked up, his eyes met Carmen's before she looked away.

"I am not violent. You just messing with me." Carmen rolled her eyes at Derrick.

"Yeah yeah, where India at?" Derrick asked Carmen.

"I'm in the kitchen!" India yelled.

"Oh, who brought you here Car-Men?" Derrick looked at Carmen.

"Some man my brother know." Carmen shrugged. Steven looked at her then.

"Who?" Derrick asked.

"Some dude name Kat. He been at Steven house a month ago." Carmen said.

"Oh shit." Derrick mumbled.

"Call your brother." Steven said to her.

"For what?" Carmen looked at her.

"Just do it. Don't ask me no fucking questions." Steven snapped.

Derrick looked between Carmen and Steven. Carmen glared at Steven.

"You not about to talk to me like you lost your mind. Matter of fact don't talk to me at all. India don't worry about food. I'm going home." Carmen yelled and stood up.

"You going no damn where with that man. He setting your brother up." Steven stood up too.

"India bring my Kool-Aid!" Derrick yelled.

"No he is not. He's actually a good man." Carmen said to Steven.

"You fucking him or something?" Steven asked her. She slapped him across his face.

"I'm not you. I don't move on fast like you do. Stay away from me." Carmen said and walked out the house.

"You done fuck up. Better go make it right." Derrick said to Steven.

"Nah fuck that. She want to run into danger that's her." Steven sat down.

"Nigga she pregnant with your baby, get you ass up!" Derrick yelled at Steven. Derrick went to open the door, and went to get Carmen. She came back in the house crying.

"Car-Men call your brother. That Kat man nigga working for April and Lonnie, to set Steven up. Since you Steven baby mama they going to try to get to you first." Derrick told Carmen.

Carmen nodded and call her brother. He didn't answer. Carmen called two more times. He still didn't answer. Carmen called more time and somebody answer. But it wasn't her brother.

"Where is PeeWee?" Carmen asked in a shaky voice.

"Whose that? Oh your punk ass brother, oh, he's a little tied up right now. I'll let him know you call." The phone hang up in her face. Then her phone vibrate in her hand. It was a picture of an unconscious PeeWee in the back of someone trunk. Carmen gasped as her hand covered her mouth.

"I have to go." Carmen jumped up, but Derrick hold her, as she cried. She cried like she didn't cried before. "He was changing, he was changing. He met someone, he was changing, now look. This is all my fault." Carmen cried on Derrick shoulder.

"It's not your fault. Don't say that, we going to get him back." Derrick said.

"I want to lay down, I don't feel good." Carmen said. Derrick help her in him and India bedroom. He walked back in the living room, and looked at Steven.

"April. We need to her." Derrick said.

"I know. I know how to get her." Steven said.

"Don't fuck the girl either Steven I know you." Derrick glared at Steven.

"I'm not. I'm not stupid." Steven said.

Derrick walked in Iris baby room where India sat in a rocking chair rocking Iris to sleep.

"I'll be back. Keep eye on Car-Men. I love you." He kissed India and walked out the room.

"I love you too!" India yelled back.

"Let's go." Derrick grabbed his Kool-Aid cup and walked out the house with Steven. "She about to really shut down now. PeeWee was the only one there for her, since they found out about each other. You just, wow I'm disappointed in you man. I thought you change, but you didn't." Derrick shook his head at Steven.

"I did change, I haven't cheated on her once. I just lied, and kept things from her. She did the changing. Since she found out about her brother, it's all about that nigga." Steven said angrily.

"That's the only family she got man. He been there, if it wasn't for him, who knows what would have happen to her. You just holding on to a grudge for a nigga, that's not worrying about your ass. Now look you single, living in that big ass house by yourself, and you back fucking everything with a skirt. You change my nigga. How you expect her to come back?" Derrick sip his drink, then started back talking.

"I know I can't talk, because what I did to India. But nigga I change, a lil nigga change. I know what I have in front of me, a good ass woman. I'm not letting her go no more. Think about it, what I saw so far with you is you was all good to Car-Men when she was virgin, but as soon as you slept with her and got her pregnant, you change man. Not for the best either. That when you should have step up, but man you step back. Even your mom not talking to you, you fucked up." Derrick finished.

Steven couldn't say anything, because what Derrick said was true. When Carmen left him, he got back out his booty call book, and went crazy fucking every night. The bad part about it is, he would call the girls Carmen name.

Derrick phone vibrate in his pocket.

"What India ass want now? He mumbled to his self. "What's up bae....Oh hell....We on the way now." Derrick hang up the phone. "It's Car-Men, she bleeding."

When they got back to the house, India was trying to calm Carmen down.

"He's not dead Carmen, he's not dead. Stop, you hurting your baby. You don't want to lose the baby right?" India had a cold rag on her forehead. Carmen shook her no. "Calm down, he's okay. He wouldn't want you stressing yourself out like this. We going to take you to the hospital okay?" India told Carmen. Carmen nodded and sat up on the bed.

"I'm going to take the baby to my mother house. I'll meet y'all at the hospital." Derrick said. India and Steven got Carmen to Steven car and to the hospital.

Two hours later Carmen was hospitalize. Her doctor haven't walked in yet. The baby monitor was beeping fast.

"Is that normal?" Steven asked India.

"Not really, its irregular. He or she is very hype. It's not dangerous or anything, but it's not normal I don't think." India shrugged.

The door open and Carmen doctor walked in with his clipboard.

"Is she okay?" India asked the doctor.

"Yes and no." He said looking at his clipboard. "Her blood pressure is high, her stress level is high, her pregnancy risk is high, but she's fine." He smiled.

"How is she fine, and she pretty much in the stage where she could lose her baby?" India asked.

"That's all up to Miss King, but someone will be in to wheel her to ultrasound room, to check on the baby. Also she have to stay in the hospital until we can get her blood pressure down, and stress level." He smiled and walked out the room.

"Okay, he's creepy." India said, and Steven shook his head. Carmen open her eyes. "You okay?" India asked her. Carmen nodded her head yes. "Do you need anything?" India asked again, Carmen shook her head no.

Derrick walked in.

"Car-Men you okay?" He walked up to the bed.

Carmen nodded her head yes.

"I need words. Don't start that not talking shit." Derrick said. Carmen just looked away. "I can kick your ass Stevie." Derrick glared at Steven.

"Man whatever. I didn't do shit, better leave me the hell alone." Steven snapped.

"I'm glad I'm not a thug, you niggas suck." Derrick shook his head.

"You nerd niggas think you know everything. Just shut the fuck up." Steven said.

"Okay, umm y'all chill. This is about Carmen. Nobody to blame, but April Lonnie, and the KatMan." India said.

"Exactly." Derrick said. "Steven still need to bake her a cake , it's his damn fault. He pushed her away with his lying and shit."

"Derrick!" India snapped.

"What? What I'm saying is true. If he had to tell her from the beginning, none of this shit would have been going on." Derrick kept talking.

"Okay just chill, Carmen nor the baby need this right now." India said.

"Okay you right. I'll just wait, until later." Derrick said, and India shook her head.

India and Derrick left, leaving Carmen and Steven alone.

The door open and the Ob-Gyn walked in with a wheel chair.

"Hello mom to be, and dad. We going to take mom down to the ultrasound room. Can you walk mom?" The Ob-Gyn asked Carmen. She nodded and got off the bed. She sat down in the chair and the lady wheeled her out.

Carmen was set up in the ultrasound room, the Ob-Gyn squirt the gel on her stomach. Then move the sticky thingy around on her stomach.

"Wow a big one. It's healthy." The Ob-Gyn smiled at Carmen who had a blank expression on her face. Steven smiled though. "Everything looks good. Just bring them high levels down." The Ob-Gyn said. Steven nodded, and Carmen just stared at her baby on the screen.

Back in the room, Carmen was hook back up and the baby monitor was also.

"You hungry?" Steven asked her. She shook her head no. Steven sighed. "Can I lay with you?" He asked her. She shrug her shoulders. Steven took off his shoes and went to get in bed with her. Carmen put her head on his chest, and cried as he hugged her close. Soon they both was sleep. The best sleep they both had in a month.
