Xilan's POV

After the lesson in Chemistry, afterwards a few subjects that me and the part-time heroes attented, the bell rang, meaning that lunch has started.

I walked towards the cafeteria, just to see a ton of people walking around, ordering their lunches at the counter, eating food at some tables. Seeing this many people made nervous to the bone, back in my dimension, I used to eat alone, I mean I always eat alone, I mean come on, some group of people or "katropa" have their own business in the cafeteria, I was left to eat alone on a table for two in which I put the bag on the other chair so that many think that it was occupied.

As I walked through the cafeteria, I saw a table that is the furthest away from the crowd of people, I went there and saw only two chairs. Perfect! I sat down there and put my bag on the other side chair. I pulled out three things: A water bottle, a transparent, rectangular shaped tapper wear, and a brown paper bag. Inside the tapper wear is gelatin, not just any gelatin, but a Pinoy style gelatin. I told you before that I'm bilingual, but I also studied and tried some Filipino delicacies, it turns out, there are great, so great that some of those delicacies are actually my everyday meals. The second one, inside the brown paper bag, was one of my everyday snack. Chicken Shawarma.Yup, just perfect being alone and away from everyone else in the Lunch Hall. I took the Shawarma, before I take a bite of it, a male voice called out my name.

"Xilan !!!!!"

I turned my head and look for the one who called my name, and it landed on those three friends of mine. Penn was the one who called my name, waving at me and pointing at there table where Boone and Sashi are sitting. Sighing, wanting to be alone for a little moment, but what the hell. I grabbed my lunch and my bag and went to there table.

"Hey bro. Where were you?" Boone asked.

"J-j-ust sitting over there. Alone." I stuttered.

"Hey, don't be the kind of a loner." Penn said.

"I was loner in back in place." I shyly said.

"Really dude?" Boone asked.

"Yup. Mostly eating away from the people, staying quiet so no one will notice me." I said.

"Come on now. You are have friends now, you have us, don't be such a loner." Penn said.

"I suppose." I quietly said.

"Come on dude. Sit here." Boone said, patting the empty sit, which is just next to him.

"OK." I said. I sit down next to him and put my lunch down on the table.

Everyone set there lunch down on the table, Boone's lunchbox lit up with tiny fireworks as he opens it. He grabbed the towl inside the box, he sniffs and inhales the towel and gave a happy sigh.

"Ah. Refreshing." Boone said.

Penn and Sashi looked at each other with a wierd expression and look back at Boone, while I was unfazed by the display since I already know what episode I am in now.

"The perfectly balanced, Boone lunch." Boone said then presses a button then the box unfold showing different foods on different panels of the box.

"Milk for healthy teeth and bones. Carrots for my peepers. And fish, to make my brain smart." Boone said while holding a fork with a carrot in it.

"How does fish makes you smart?" Penn questions Boone.

"I don't know. Haven't eaten it yet." Boone said while shrugged.

"Actually, fish really is 'brainfood' and eating it can make you smarter, researchers say. Scientists discovered that eating food rich in omega-3 boosted blood flow to the brain and improved its performance during mental tasks. The findings could have implicatons for treating dementia." I answered Penn's question.

The Boone and Penn looked it me with surprise faces while Sashi smiles at it. I was feeling a little bit insecure.

"Wha-wha-why are two looking at me like that?" I stuttered while pulling hood down, trying to cover my blushing face.

"Where did you get all these knowledge anyway?" Penn asked.

"Learning and Studying." I said.

"Okay. What did you get Penn?" Boone asked Penn, changing the topic.

"Looks like Uncle Chuck's deconstructed hamburger." Penn said as he pulls out some kind of meat.

"Mystery meat. Tomato soup instead of ketchup and a handful of flour for the bun." He said as he pulls out the meat, the tomato soup can and a handful of flour on the table, which cause him to cough a little from the powder, while Boone is eating his carrot.

I feel bad for Penn, so I decided I give him my lunch, after all I still have my dessert which is suppose to be a dessert, but hey. Giving is better than receiving.

"Here Penn." I said as giving him my shawarma.

"Hey dude. Its OK. You don't have to." Penn said refusing my offer.

"Its OK. I insist. I still have my other lunch." I said as I give him my lunch.

"Are you sure?" Penn asked me, still a bit hesitant.

"I am sure." I assured him.

"OK then. Thanks man." He took my lunch. As he took his first bite, his eyes widens and continues to eat the shawarma in pure bliss.

"Wow! Your lunch is great!" Penn said in pure bliss.

"Really?" I asked Penn.

"Yes it is." Penn said as he still continues to eat it.

"Thanks." I said with a smile.

Sashi on the other hand, pulls out a slice of cake from her lunch box.

"OOHHH!!!! Sashi got cake!!! Is it your birthday?!" Boone said as lets go of his carrot and put both hands on the side of his cheeks while grinning.

"My birthday is on a "need to know" basis, and you do not need to know!" Sashi angrily said as he points at Boone, while Boone frowns.

"My brother is on the horticulture team. He made an all-city green thumb so my parents baked him a cake." She said sadly while all of us were frowning at her.

"It's all yours. If I eat sugar, I get jumpy." She pushes the cake towards Boone and explains why she doesn't eat sugar.

"I've got spirit. Yes I do." A muffled, yet clear voice is coming towards us. I already who that was and what's going to happen.

I saw Sashi glaring at the incoming mascot, hiding behind Penn and ready to prowl at the mascot. As the mascot reach in range. Sashi jumps onto him, but before she can kick the mascot, I quickly spun around, grabbed the mascot's waist and swiftly move him away from Sashi before getting kick on the face. As Sashi lands safely on the floor, and looked by seeing the mascot safe and being hold by me.

"What the heck Xi?" Sashi asked and staighten her posture.

"You are going to kick him in the face." I said it to her and put the mascot down safely.

"Uhhh Sashi. That is our mascot." Penn said.

"We don't know, who is in the costume." Sashi stated.

"It's Terry." Boone said as he lifts the head of the mascot revealing Terry inside with a scared look on his face.

"This never happen." Sashi said as she was about to knock him out, but I grabbed her wrist before she can knock him out.

"Sashi, come on. Just let him go." I said to her as the mascot quickens his pace away from the girl.

There was an awkward silence, until the Boone's kettle whistles with steam coming out of the spout.

As usual, I hide from the trio as I made my way to the Odyssey. I hid behind some contraptions and machines so the team will not see me.

"Phyllis you smell great. Queestion. Should we be worried about Sashi can't turn off the whole 'Sidekick' thing?" Penn questions Phyllis.

"How do you mean?" Ask Phyllis, stopping her work. Then Penn points where Sashi is.

Sashi is destroying all three dummies, like a predator ripping through its prey.

"Okay. Let's do this." Sashi's mood turned 180 degrees, from hungry predator, to cheerful pet.

"Uhhhhhhh." Penn looked at Phyllis not knowing what to do, Phyllis just shrugs it off. Went to the control panel, flipping the switch amd sending the team into another dimension.

With the team out. I got out of my hiding place, placed my bag down amd went to my workshop, which Phyllis gave me this morning for doing projects and homework. I pulled out a blueprint paper, roll it out and seeing some drawings in it. I went down to find some spare materials which turns out there were plenty of them in the basememt, went back upstairs, brought out some materials amd start working on what is on the blueprint.

"Whatcha doing?" Phyllis asked with a flat voice.

"Just welding and doing what it is on the blueprint." I said to her while doing my work.

"What is on blueprint?" She asked me.

I stopped my work and showed Phyllis on what I was doing.

She looked at it then looked at me, back to the paper, then back to me, paper, me, paper, me, paper, and finally me. Which got me a little bit nervous.

"W-w-h-h-hat is it?" I ask her.

"You sure you can do this?" She asked me and brought it back to me.

"I think I can" I assured her, even though I am not sure if I can.

"Goodluck." She said it to me like she always say to the team.

That got me pumped up and let me do my own work.

After a few hours of work, I heard the chat from the trio and quickly hide behind the MUT so they don't see me.

"You guys go on ahead, I still have some errands to take care of." Sashi said to the boys.

"Maybe we can help, after all we-" Penn said but before he can fully finish his sentence, Boone stops him, and whispered something in his ear and and Penn silently agreed to Boone.

"What are guys talkin' about?" Sashi asked them.

"Nothing Sash. Just that we are gonna finish some stuff the me and Boone didn't finish." Penn assured her which she is not fully convinced.

"What stuff?" Sashi narrowed her eyes at them which both of them are slightly sweating.

"Oh would you look at the time. Dude come on. Let's go!" Boone quickly said as he drags Penn out of the Odyssey.

Sashi just sighed but still smiled at those two teammates of hers. She grabbed her bag and went out of the Odyssey saying goodbye to Phyllis. After she is gone, I then went back to my work until my phone rang and looked who is calling me, which turned out to be Penn, strange I don't remember giving him my phone number, but hey that's what the plot says so just go with the flow, and answer the call.

"Yellow." I said.

"Hey Xi! Whatcha doing?" Penn said through the phone with the familiar line.

"Just some homework." I said.

"I don't remember our teachers giving us homeworks." Penn said that which got me nervous.

"J-j-j-just extra-curricular activities. That's all." I said it nervously.

"OK. If you say so. Hey can you come over to Sashi's apartment?" Penn asked me.

"Sure I can. If I know where that is." I said to Penn with a slight sarcastic voice in it.

"Oh. Yeah. hahaha." Penn said awkwardly.

"It's OK."

"OK. I am going to give you the address on where that place is. Me and Boone are just gonna get something. I just want you to get there first for the preparation. You OK with that?" Penn said.

"Yeah. Sure. I can do that." I assured him.

"Great. Meet you there." Penn said as he drops the call.

I stopped my work and put it on a proper place where no one can find except for only me, Phyllis amd Sir. Nuzzle. After cleaning up my work place, I grabbed my bag and went to Phyllis.

"Phyllis. I am heading out." I said to her.

"Where you going?" She asked me as she still continuing her work on the MUT.

"To Sashi's place." I told her where to go.

"What for?" She asked me again.

"Me and gang are gonna throw a little celebration for Sashi for all the good work she has done." I explained to her.

"How you know about this?" She asked as she narrows her eyes at me.

"Penn told me." I said to her, don't like where this is going.

"Not just that. How you know about all work that they do? You not there when they work. You not there to see it either." She is now interrogating me which got me sweating. How am I going to explain it her.

"Ummmmmm." I don't know what to say to her.

"Nah. Just kidding. Go to her already." She kid me with a blank look on her face and went back to work.

I sighed in relief and went to find her apartment.

I am now in front of her door. I got nervous and started shivering a little. Then with my shaking hand, knocked at the door 3 times. I waited a little while then the door open, showing a lady which appears to be like at her late 30s or something like that, wearing a dark navy blue sold top blazer folded into elbow length, a bermuda plain light blue t-shirt with a white colored collar, a red sash around the waist, an knee length light pink skirt, and black flat shoes. She has Sashi's face shape and eyes, might be her mother.

"Hello!" She said with a smile on her face.

"Oh. H-h-h-he-llo. Ma'am." I stuttered yet greeted her.

"You must be one of Sashi's friend. Xilan wasn't it?" She asked me.

"Yes ma'am." I slightly bow down for politeness.

"No bowing please. I'm Tia. Tia Kobayashi. Please come in." She said as she motions you to enter.

"Thank you." I thanked her.

"Ow." I winced in pain since my head hit the door frame, for real, I'm getting tired of these small doors.

"Are you OK?" She asked me.

"I'm fine. I just hate small doors." I said it to her truthfully.

"Maybe you're just too tall." She teases me about my height which is why I am always hitting my head on door frames. I shrugged it off and went inside.

It seems to be a nice place, perfect for a small family to live and might be big enough to fit about 10 people in it. You went inside and saw a man sitting on a couch reading a newspaper. The man seems to a bit older than Sashi's mother, about early 40s something like that, he wears a red checkered t-shirt with a white colored collar and sleeve cuffs, a brown biege slacks and black leather shoes, must be Sashi's father.

"Well hello Xilan-san." He greeted me.

"Hello to you too." I greeted him as well.

"I'm Sylvester Kobayashi. Sashi's father."

"Pleasure to meet you Sylvester-sama." I greeted him again.

"Is Penn and Boone here yet?" I asked the mother.

"Not yet dear. Why?" She answered me then ask.

"Good, because they went to go buy something to surprise Sashi for all the hardwork she has done." I explained.

"So sweet of them." She said.

"Yup." I respond

"Do you have anything in mind that might wanna do before they will come in Xilan?" Sylvester asked me while I am contemplating on what to do, which got me an idea.

"Mrs. Kobayashi. Do you have any of these ingridients here:
6 egg whites
1 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cup ground cashew, unsalted
1 cup or 2 sticks butter, softened to room temperature
3/4 cup powdered sugar, sifted
2 Tbsp milk -optional
1 cup finely grounded sweet biscuit (like Marie or similar) or cake crumbs." I asked her.

"hmmmmm. Oh. Of course we, they are in the kitchen." She contemplates it first then said to me where they are hidden.

"Fantastic. Now what I want you to do is to hide from them, don't let them in the kitchen just yet OK?" I explained to her my plan of surprise.

"Of course. Just do hurry up." She said.

"Don't worry. This won't take long." I assured her, and went to the kitchen and start working on my surprise food for Sashi.

Third POV

After a while, Sashi is home, and saw Penn and Boone brought to her a flurgle burgle shaped cake. She was happy for it, the boys took a slice of it and gave it Sashi. Sashi taking a bite of it, when she did, she didn't like the taste but still swallows it.

"So. Whaddya think?" Penn asked her.

"I love it." She was about to say the truth but still appreciate their hardwork on the cake.

Then a boom was heard on the kitchen, everyone ran into the kitchen and saw Xilan with a black smoke covered face with an open stove. He coughed and wheezed out smoke.

"XILAN!!" Sashi ran towards him, trying to help him.

"What happen?" Penn asked him.

"I left the stove open." He explained to them.

"Are you OK?" Tia asked him.

"I am fine. I was just getting the pastry out of the fridge then I forgot to close the oven. By the way the Sylvanas is finish." He said as he pointed them where the pastry is in which it is on the table.

"Sylvanas?" All of them asked Xilan

"A special pastry from parents, they always make as deserts." He said in half truth, half lie since exposing to them is something he am not ready yet.

They sit down and took a bite of it which cause all of them to sigh happily.

"These are good I'l tell you that." Boone said.

"I didn't know you like cooking." Sylvester said

"That is the extra-curricular class that I am taking." He said it which is true back at his home dimension.

Xilan looked at time, he is about to be late at his work.

"I am sorry guys but I have to go. My parents are gonna kill me." He said to them hurriedly as he went to get my stuff at the living room.

"Hey. Let me join you." Sashi offered.

"That is okay. Really I am fine. My parents are very strict about my time schedule." He said to them.

"Are you dear that you don't want my daughter to accompany you dear." Tia ask him

"I am fine about it. Well goodbye to you all." He bid them goodbye and went outside.

"Bye Xilan." Everyone bid goodbye as well as he went outside and ran tpwards the Odyssey.

"I am sorry Phyllis that I am late." He apologizes to her and quickly put his things down and went into one of the platforms.

"No need worry. You go to ninja world. Mission, you help ninja of Norrisville to keep identity safe. Goodluck." She explain his destination and press a few buttons and flipped the switch.

The MUT lifts him up and went to the one of his favorite shows back in his home dimension. Randy Cunningham the 9th Grade Ninja. Oh yeah. this is gonna be so BRUCE!!!!
