It was 2009. I think I was nine years old at this time ( I was born on 2001). Honestly I don't remember much from this time but as a fan of music, this year held the greatest hits ( I kinda hate the songs today but except Owl City music of course ).

At first I have no idea what music really is. I'm still learning how to speak in English so I don't understand much when I hear songs. But on the TV, me and my siblings would go watch on the sofa to listen to our favorite music. That was until I heard this song playing on a music channel. The song was called Fireflies. Like I told earlier, I don't pretty much understand English at that time but somehow I liked the song because it sounded so dreamy and beautiful. Everyday I would borrow my brother's phone just to listen Fireflies. Somehow listening to this song helps me to sleep and keep away nightmares.

Time passed by and I grew fond of it. I tried memorizing the lyrics and even watched the music video for the umpteenth time. However when I waited for it to play on the music channel, sadly it was off the list because the song was played for 3 weeks straight, leading the top charts until it was no longer played. That made me sad and for years I have not listened to the song ever again ( to be honest I don't know YouTube so I never searched it).

Fast forward to now

I still know Fireflies up until now. Sometimes when it is requested to be played on the music channel, I get happy. It brings the nostalgic feeling of listening to it again and again. Its really amazing.
