Chapter 14 (AKA Blue's Realization)
*FGOD Multiverse AKA DeterminedVerse*
Blue looks around the white room, the Anti-Void. The white room isn't just white though. Blue strings still hang from the top of the Anti-Void. The red souls are still held in the blue strings' grip. And the puppets are all still hanging by their blue threads. Even though the feeling of Error being gone is ever prevalent, the strings of Error have remained. Blue summons a bone, cutting as many strings, souls, and puppets down that he can, gathering up everything into his awesome bag that can hold everything. Blue then puts the books in, opening a portal to the world of DreamTale, knocking on the door, being greeted to a tearfully happy Nightmare.
"We're remembering Error's life." Blue sets his bag on the table, the puppets and the blue strings pouring out.
"You all may be remembering his life, but the way I see it, someone has lied to us. Error's strings come from his magic. If he were dead, his magic would be gone too, and his strings would have faded...yet even after I cut them down, they're still physical. The logic would be thus: Error can't be dead, because his magic isn't gone, as seen by these strings remaining. So, when Error 'died' he must have done something else. Went somewhere else. Somewhere not here. Which is why I felt intense pain right when he likely 'died'." Nightmare looks at the other skeletons, realization slowly dawning on their faces.
"He opened a portal to the Void, it must have allowed him to travel to another multiverse...somehow...but how?" Blue lays down the blue-covered book.
"I think I know how. This book mentions two goddesses who championed two beings. One of Creation, Ink, and one to oppose the being of Creation, Error. The champion of Creation belongs to Fate, the opposer belonging to Destiny."
A blue butterfly flutters around the seven skeletons, a soft female chuckle echoing through the room.
"Blue...the truly awakened one. The one who recognizes that my darling Error isn't a monster, a destroyer by choice, and now? Now the awakened one sees my plan in fruition. Error is not dead, correct. But it'd be wise to not track him down. That would draw Ink's attention to Error being alive, and before he goes after my child, I want that prideful disaster show to see the actions of not having destruction to balance out his meaningless creation. Thank you all for giving him good memories...and thank you Dream and Color...for waking up...you matter to me. Find others who have awoken. Fresh, Geno, Dance, Mob, Classic. Find them, and bring them into the fold. Once Ink sees how his actions can kill the multiverse, I will command you to bring them together, and then...perhaps then...I will allow you to see Error, and perhaps even let you and he meet in the middle. But I will not allow you to cross. Fate will command some other poor unfortunate soul to destroy here, or you will end Ink's life or will to create. Good luck, champions of Destiny."
"Wait, I know you kinda confirmed he is alive but is Error happy?" The blue butterfly lands on Nightmare, a soft hum from the female.
"He is safe. He will heal. Perhaps in time...he will be happy too. Healing the body is easy...the mind is not so easily helped." Nightmare slowly nods, his body relaxing. The butterfly vanishes, leaving only blue dust to remember it. And everyone blinks, looking at each other, confused. Blue speaks up.
"You heard the lady. Fresh, Geno, Dance, Mob, and Classic. We'll check other AUs, though, Dream, Color, you two will have to lead on any not aligned with Error right away." Blue looks down. Dust and Horror will go to Fresh. Killer, you and Color can handle Dance and Mob?" The four skeletons nod, teleporting away.
"Nightmare, you and Dream will talk to Classic in his dreams so that if he reacts violently, you two will be safer."
"You guys tracking down the awakened ones?" The three turn, the purple eyelights of Lust gazing at them with humor in his face. Cross follows close behind, Fell and Sci trailing.
"Blue's going to Geno, right? You'll need help, in case he's...unstable. Take me with. I'm good at calming emotional beings. Cross, Fell, and Sci can stay here, Sci pouring over those books and the things you brought, Blue." Blue looks at the two DreamTale Sansi, before nodding, grabbing Lust's hand.
"Let's go then." Blue teleports the two away and Nightmare lays ground rules for Cross, Sci, and Fell. Then the two DreamTale Sansi approach Classic in his dreams.
Dust and Horror teleport to the last position of the parasite, finding a bloody battlefield. Bodies are torn apart, including a Sans.
"That was my last radical host. He didn't really want me to move on from him...so I had to make sure he couldn't stop me." The two danger skeletons turn, looking at the loud-clothing, nearly insane, 90's nightmare. Fresh's glasses are resting in his shirt, the former skeleton opting to have his eyelights glowing.
"Wasn't that pain unradical? Error broski's dead...right?" Dust steps forward.
"Yes...dead from this multiverse...but...He was pulled to a new multiverse. He's still alive somewhere else." Fresh freezes, before laughing.
"Ya must be pulling my leg. He died. I felt it. A part of my soul died." Horror moves forward.
"Come with us, Blue will explain it all."
"That traitor? He told Ink there wasn't a way to stop Error, besides killing him." Horror huffs, pulling out a ribbon and tying Fresh's arms together, Dust pulling out a ribbon as well, gagging the dangerous skeleton. The two nod and teleport home, waiting for the others.
Killer and Color hold hands, sweat pouring off the two skeletons, heading to Mob first. Color starts talking and not long after, Color walks into the portal where Killer waits, Mob entering behind him. The two nod, an unspoken agreement to not fight yet. Then Killer and Color, along with Mob, go to Dance. Color again leads the words, leaving Killer and Mob alone.
"So Error isn't dead?"
"No."
"Huh. It was weird. The way he spoke made me start thinkin..."
"Oh?"
"Yea, and in my job profession, thinking thoughts is a dangerous hobby...but...the more I thought, the more I realized I fucked up by helping Ink get rid of a vital part of the balance." Color walks in, Dance following behind, both of them blushing.
"Wonder what you two talked about to be so colorful." Dance blushes brighter.
"S-shut up. Let's go meet the rest at the castle." Color opens the other side of the portal, the four skeletons walking into the living room, Killer and Color sitting down, very close together. Mob stands by Cross. And Dance. He freezes, blushing bright blue upon seeing Fresh.
"Hey, broski. I'm in a new Sans body, equipped with all the parts I mentioned our last time meeting after I curb-stomped that army if I recall." Dance just blushes more, entering a playful fight with Fresh, dancing slowly, quickly getting his groove. Fresh joins, making the dance more entertaining with Dance lighting up blue as Fresh whispers in his ear.
"Huh...didn't know Fresh knew how to flirt, or cared to flirt." Killer shrugs.
"Nobody did. Fresh is kinda the wild card. He never really aligns, but everyone knows he's got soft spots for people. Error was top of that list. Nobody else really ever saw Fresh interact in a non-murdery way with others besides Error and Geno. I guess he and Dance must've had something." Fresh and Dance leave the fight mutually, making their way to a room.
"Guess Fresh flirted enough."
Nightmare and Dream approach the skeleton, Nightmare making the terrible dream Classic was having vanish. Classic looks up at the two skeletons, blinking.
"Wow. You two are together. Never thought either of you would get your heads out of your asses to make amends." Nightmare coughs, and Dream blushes.
"We've uh...figured some things out. If you'd come to DreamTale, we can tell you more, and you will be guaranteed safety." Classic grins slowly, nodding.
"Alright. I'll be there soon." The three wake up, Nightmare and Dream heading back to the castle, surprised to see Classic standing outside the castle doors.
"Figured it wasn't polite to just teleport into the home of the almighty Nightmare." Nightmare shrugs.
"Well, after you, Classic. You'll be kept safe, if only because nobody wants to be the jackass that ended the reason we all exist, right?" Classic grins, nodding.
Blue and Lust head to AfterTale's save screen, where the obviously hurting skeleton is laying in a pool of his own blood. Blue rushes over, healing Geno slightly.
"Geno, you okay?" Geno nods.
"I don't know...why I'm still alive...Error..."
"Geno, Error isn't dead." Geno's soul beat, weak until that moment, starts with greater intensity. Lust helps Blue carry Geno through the portal, where they are the last to arrive.
Blue just spent the last hour talking about his hypothesis, what the Goddess Destiny said, and answering any questions. Everyone seems to get what's going on, and they all seem on-board with stopping Ink. However, it was time for those like Mob, Dance, and Classic to go home. Fresh and Dance were super clingy, and after Dance said he could get his AU to understand the Fresh monster, everyone calmed down. Killer and Color are more interested in each other than the discussion, and Lust held Blue's hand to keep him calm through the whole thing. Dust and Horror seem to have a close relationship as well. Fell and Sci are pretty much glued together, and the way Nightmare is holding Dream on the former's throne is indicative of something more (*cough* Nightmare could simply have missed Dream, and now given the chance, he's hugging his brother like his brother's gonna disappear. Idk. *cough*). Cross and Geno end up being the odd-ones-out, hanging out because they both have no significant other in this huge ship-party.
