IT WAS obvious to everyone that Lauryn Carpenter loved Jeremiah Fisher. Everyone but Jeremiah. The boy was oblivious. Oblivious to the fact that Lauryn's eyes lit up whenever he came into a room. That she always wanted to be the one to sit next to him. That when he was around, she never stopped smiling. And it was just as obvious to everyone else that he was in love with her. Well, everyone except Jeremiah. He was the only one who didn't see the way his own eyes lit up and the way when he's in a crowded room he looks for her, the way he always keeps her included and is affectionate with her, the way his face goes soft when he's talking to her.

This summer everything changed so much. Including the fact that Jeremiah realized his feelings for Lauryn and the fact that one night ruined things for Lauryn. When she caught Jeremiah and Belly kissing in the pool, she felt like she'd been stabbed in the heart. She couldn't believe they would do this to her. After that night her feelings for Jeremiah quickly faded.

She starts to wonder how she would ever love somebody else. She was scared of letting people in now, scared she would just get hurt again. Enter Conrad Fisher, who has been in love with her all this time. All it took was for her to have a heartbreak to realize the right person for her was the other Fisher brother.
