The sky was a soft orange and blue, speckled with pink and light yellow colors as the sun began to rise. The shadows were long , the forest still bathed in darkness despite the sky lightening overhead . It would be a long while before it was truly "daytime."

A deer peeked it's head above the foliage in the forest, it's big black eyes glistening as it stared ahead before ducking back into the shadows and prancing away quietly. The soft sounds of nature could be heard all around, with birds chirping high in the trees and leave crunching under small animal's feet.  Squirrels and chipmunks scurried about, picking up little acorns and other various nuts from where they had buried them during the previous fall.

It was a warm spring day, sometime around April or May, and it was quite nice outside.  The air was warm and not too heavy, seeming comforting like a blanket around the entire land.  A bird screeched loudly and a flock of the blackish-blue birds took off from the trees, spiraling into the sky with their wings spread wide as they glided away and the other birds chirped quietly to each other from the shadows of the leaves and trees.

A voice cut through the peaceful noises of nature, yelling and loud.

"ONE!  TWO!  THREE!"  The person screamed at the top of their lungs.  They stood in front of a small cabin in a clearing.  They were barefoot on the stone covered path that led to the front door of the house.  It was quite a nice house, made of wood and logs and a stone base that gave off an old-timey vibe.  The windows were open wide, made without glass and little flowerpots sat outside the windows with some forest plants and multicolored flowers.  Outside one window there were red and white flowers, and the next had yellow and blue.  On the patterns went, giving the house a sort of mismatched and homey vibe.

"READY OR NOT, HERE I COME!" The yelling person screamed at the top of their lungs, opening his light blue eyes.  His brown hair bounced as he whirled around and ran down the path around to the side of the house.  His blue eyes glistened and he grinned as he quietly poked his head around the corner to see if anyone was there.

He didn't see anyone, and huffed in annoyance.  The brown haired boy crossed his arms and walked down the side of the house towards the back, poking his head out once more.  At this point he saw a flash of red and white but it quickly disappeared and he gasped loudly.

"TOMMY!" He screamed, a grin spreading across his face again.  He took off running as fast as he could, but instead of following the flash he turned back the way he came.  The little boy was smart- he knew that he could catch Tommy if he just ran around the other way and intercepted him before the other boy realized what was happening.

He arrived back at the front of the house quickly, and crouched down in the tall grass and ferns, pressing close to the house to keep himself out of sight to anyone walking by the front of the cabin.  The brown haired boy listened silently as footsteps approached, and when a figure turned the corner the small boy lunged at the boy in the red and white shirt.

Tommy screamed before the smaller boy tackled him, knocking him to the grassy ground.  "What the fuck Tubbo!" He yelled, struggling to heave the other boy off of him.

The brown haired boy, Tubbo rolled off of Tommy and sat with a grin in the grass beside him.  His face was freckled slightly and he had a bandage over his nose.  Tommy had the same blue eyes as him- although Tubbo's were darker and had a bit more brown in them.

Tommy ruffled his blond hair and huffed in annoyance.  "Well congrats, you win," he said as he rolled his eyes.  He sat up as well and leaned back on his hands, looking at Tubbo with a frown.  The smaller brown haired boy just smiled at him and then burst out laughing.  "What?!" Tommy exclaimed after a moment, which just caused Tubbo to continue laughing on the floor.

Another person peered around the corner and a dark brown haired boy stepped out from the front of the house.  His hair was quite wavy and covered one of his brown eyes, and he smiled at them.  "What are you two idiots doing?" he questioned them with a smile faintly playing at his lips.

Tommy huffed.  "He's the stupid idiot, Wilbur," the blond boy said, pointing at Tubbo who continued to die of laughter on the ground.  Wilbur laughed, grinning at Tommy and crouching down slightly to pat his hair.  Tommy looked up at Wilbur in horror and stared at him.

"What the fuck," he said, standing up and shoving Wilbur away from him.  The wavy brown haired boy let out another laugh, and Tubbo sat up wiping his eyes and still quietly laughing to himself and grinning.  "Oh my god you two are being so weird," Tommy muttered as he walked away towards the front of the house.

Tubbo quickly bounced to his feet and chased Tommy, leaving Wilbur alone.  The oldest boy let out a sigh and turned to follow them both, arms crossed but still smiling.

Tommy brushed the dirt off his signature red and white shirt and Tubbo stood beside him, looking up at the blonde boy with a faint admiration although he had just spent the last thirty seconds laughing at him.  Tommy looked down at Tubbo and pushed the boy away slightly, although they both knew it wasn't in a rude way.

Tubbo gently fidgeted with the straps on his light blue overalls as Wilbur walked over.  His undershirt had a little bee printed at the top of them which he was always happy about, and with that he had yellow and black striped long, puffy-sleeves that matched the bees that would sometimes buzz around the cabin and flowers lining the windows.  Tubbo had the most flowers outside his windows, simply for the purpose of attracting as many bees and bugs as he could.  He had always found them fascinating.

Tommy on the other hand, didn't seem to have any obsessions like Tubbo did.  He almost always wore a similar short sleeved shirt with brown trousers.  His face was covered with little scratches and patches that covered various injuries were scattered about his body, primarily his arms and face.  While Tubbo had burn marks along his face, neck, arms, and even his legs due to an incident with a fire while he was home alone, Tommy's injuries were mostly scrapes from climbing trees and running around the woods with Wilbur in tow.

Wilbur was wearing his simple outfit of a yellow sweater, black trousers, and gray shoes.  He had a patch on his cheek that he kept there often due to constantly getting punched in the face by Tommy in that exact spot for some reason.  He suspected it was because Tommy just extremely hated him, which he wasn't entirely wrong about.  Wilbur glanced at Tommy and Tubbo just standing there and adjusted his beanie, a bit confused as to why they were literally just standing there doing nothing.

Instead of waiting with them, he stalked past the two younger boys and walked up the steps along the side of the house to the front door, which he opened and closed behind him as he disappeared inside the building.

Tubbo glanced up at Tommy before hopping forwards on one foot and then following Wilbur into the house.  He ran his hand along the wooden rail along the stairs as he walked up and nudged the door open as he slipped into the house as well.  Tommy sighed and followed them silently, arms crossed.

"Phillllll," Tommy called as he entered the house, taking off his shoes and shoving them awkwardly into a cubby on the wall.  There was a pause, and then no response.

"PHILLLLL!" The blond haired boy yelled even louder, and Tubbo peeked his head around the corner of a wall.  Tommy followed him and the two of them spotted Phil cooking in the kitchen.  The dirty blond haired man turned, his blue eyes flashing as soon as he saw Tubbo standing there.

"Tubbo!  Stay the fuck out of the kitchen!" he exclaimed with a slightly nervous laugh before turning back to the oven and fiddling with the knobs awkwardly.  Normally he wouldn't try to cook things but it seemed tonight was special.  Over his usual green jinbei and black haori he donned a bright green apron a similar color to his clothes.  His black wings were tucked tightly behind him, although occasionally they fluttered which the boys recognized to be a sign of their father's nervousness.

"Ok, fine!" Tubbo exclaimed and stepped back, holding his hands up.  "Just because I burned down our last house doesn't mean that the food didn't taste good though," he added, glancing up to the side and averting his gaze from Philza.

Tommy grinned and Phil huffed, shooting a glance over his shoulder at the two boys.  "Yeah, well we didn't even get to eat the food because it all burned along with the house.  Now if it's alright with you I'd like to cook this meal without setting this house ablaze so if you and Tommy could set the table and get everyone ready for dinner that would be perfect."

"Alrig-" Tubbo began to speak but was practically shoved aside both verbally and physically by Tommy, when the blond boy stepped forwards.

"Is something special happening?  You don't cook like this often," Tommy questioned, his voice not seeming very curious and more emotionless than usual.  If anything, Tubbo may have guessed that the taller boy was angry.  A nice smell wafted through the air, clearly coming from whatever food their father was cooking.

Phil didn't reply for a moment as the stove clicked and a fire lit by accident, which Phil promptly turned off and then paused.  "Yeah, you could call it something special I guess.  I can't believe you don't remember- I don't think it's been that long since I told you."

Tommy tapped his foot impatiently, glaring at Philza who seemed almost to be avoiding the question, but then the blond man turned around and smiled at them.

"Today is Tommy and Wilbur's last dinner with us."

Holy heck ok, so this was so fun to write?

I'm very bad at ending chapters/stories so this may seem a bit rushed by the end but I hope anyone reading still enjoys!  Can't wait to introduce more characters and expand a bit more on the plot.

Also enjoy the knowledge that Tubbo burned down the family's previous house due to a cooking mishap </3
