Talking to dragons - Part 7 - Criston x Reader

(Y/n) moaned, as Cole's lips found their way from her mouth to her neck. The pair lost in one another, as Criston's hands moved across her body. The Kingsguard moving back, as the princess let out a small yelp.

"My lady..................?"

"Your armour, Criston............it pinched a little..........." (Y/n) explained, Cole giving her an apologetic smile, as he placed his hand on her face.

"I'm sorry. I just............."

"I know, and I am so glad that you kissed me. It is just that a Kingsguard's armour is not designed for overtly passionate embraces. Perhaps it was specifically made that way, just for that reason." The lady chuckled, as she took Criston's hand, and led him to her bed. Cole sitting next to her and squeezing her hand lightly.

"What........what did your brother say................?" The Kingsguard continued, as he looked at the lady. Hoping that given the fact that the youngest child of Baelon appeared so pleased, she had been able to persuade her brother that she should not be wed to Vaemond. And even though he was still quite new to Kings Landing, even Criston knew that if anyone could do such a thing, it was (Y/n). The lady able to weave magic with her ways, like no one he had ever met before.

"Viserys said that he has received a raven from Driftmark saying that Coryls and Rhaenys wished me to come and spend some time with them. What he really meant, was that Vaemond was going to be there, and they all wanted me to spend time with him.............."

"Does that mean that you are going.............?" Criston interrupted, as he gripped (Y/n)'s hand a little tighter.

"Viserys did want me to go; but I pleaded with him. I told him that I wanted to be with a man that I love, not one because tradition dictated it. That I wanted to have what Viserys and Aemma had. As I said, I have no problem with Vaemon, I just know that if I am forced to marry him, I will never love him, and............and I would never be happy. And luckily, my brother has agreed that he will allow me to stay in Kings Landing until I find a man that I do love............I just wish that I could tell him that I have already found one........." The lady explained, as she placed her hand on Criston's cheek. The Kingsguard melting into her touch.

Why had he not come to Kings Landing before? After fighting for a year as a foot soldier during the border conflicts with Dorne; and after taking part in the levelling of two watchtowers along the Boneway, Criston had found himself being knighted by his Lord, Ser Arlan Dondarrion. The older man offering to take him to the capital, so that he could be introduced to life at court. Yet it had not been until the announcement of the Heir's Tournament, that Criston had finally made the journey from his home to Kings Landing. And given that (Y/n) had been with the queen while the tourney was underway, he had not laid eyes on her until she had joined her niece, as Rhaenyra chose him to be a Kingsguard. Criston wondering what might have been, if he had met the exquisite female dragon before he had looked to take the white cloak. Yet what he felt for (Y/n) couldn't be wrong, could it? The way that his heart would beat, when he would see her enter a room, could not be a sin. It was not wrong, how he wanted to do nothing but protect her from anyone or anything that might want to hurt her; so why was it wrong to want to give himself to her, body and soul? He could still fulfill his role as a Kingsguard, and love her too. The fact that he would be breaking his vow of chastity, not effecting how he could swing a sword. But if he did love her as he wanted to love her, would it show on his face? Would the others, would Ser Westerling, the king be able to tell that he had forsaken part of his vow? And if they could, what would befall him? The cloak was the only thing that he had to his name, and if it was discovered that he had slept with the king's beloved sister, he knew that he would be stripped of his cloak. He could find himself gelded, sent to the Wall, or even killed. Criston opening his eyes and looking at the princess.

"May I ask you something.................?"

"Anything Criston..................." The lady replied, as she moved a little closer to him.

"If we were discovered, and your brother wanted to send me away; what would you do...............?" The Kingsguard enquired. Criston feeling a little guilty for asking the question, as he saw the hurt look in his lady's eyes.

"I would follow you to wherever he sent you................"

"You would defy your brother......your king...............?"

"For you, yes. I love you, Criston. I would travel to the Wall and beyond, if that was where he sent you. To the ends of the world if I needed to. As long as I have you and Naga, I have no need for anything else. No Keep, no servants, no fine clothing or jewellery; just you and my dragon................." The female dragon continued. Smiling at him, as he placed his forehead against hers. The pair remaining like this, just savouring being in one another's presence for a moment, before their lips connected in yet one more longing kiss.
