Talking to dragons - Part 4 - Criston x Reader

Too soon the pair found themselves having to move apart. The need for air burning their lungs, as they waited until the last moment to move their lips from the others. Criston placing his forehead against that of his lady. His fingers combing through her long pale hair, as they continued to stand under the watchful gaze of Naga.

"My lady.............(Y/n)........I..............."

"Tell me you want more, Criston? I know that it's wrong, that you have sworn the oath, but...............but I want you. More than I have ever wanted anything. I love you and can no longer just see you as my guard. No longer pretend that I don't have feelings for you. That I don't want to give myself to you, body and soul.............." The dragon confessed, as she opened her eyes to look at the handsome man that still held her close. The man whose heart she was sure that she could still feel beating against hers, despite the armour that Cole wore.

Surely this couldn't be true. He had dreamt of this on many a night. Of his hands caressing every part of her naked form. The Kingsguard desperately wanting to know her every curve, dip and swell. Of his lips tasting her flesh, as his body moved between her legs. The room filling with the most glorious of sounds, as he pushed himself inside her. The lady's nails digging into the muscles of his back as he began to move. As they brought one another to their wonderful high. He and his exquisite charge panting and covered in sweat as they held one another close in her bed. But they were just dreams, or they had been until this moment. Cole still sure that at any moment he would find himself back in his own bed, the sun beginning to rise and bringing with it another day.

But no, this was no dream, he was sure of it. His lady was truly in his arms. They had kissed. She had just told him that she wanted more than a kiss, that she wanted him. Wanted him to want her. Wanted to give herself to him. And now, he had a decision to make. He had to decide whether he could have the woman that he had already come to love, as well as continue to be a Kingsguard. If he could stay in the ranks of the White Cloaks while knowing that he was breaking part of his oath. That instead of spending his nights alone in his own bed, he could spend them in the arms of a beautiful dragon.

"I.................." Criston began, his words cut off as the lady placed another chaste kiss to his lips.

"There is no need for you to answer now. I know that it is a lot to ask of you, Criston. That taking the oath meant so much to you; but I needed you to know. I needed you to know how I felt for you. How I want no one but you, before Viserys finally has his way and marries me off.................."

"Marry............who............when..........? Who are you to marry?" Criston asked urgently, as he took (Y/n) by the tops of the arms, holding her firmly. The Kingsguard not wanting this to be the news that he was given only moments after being told that she wanted him.

Criston knew that he should expect something like this. The marriages of high born ladies were usually arranged when they were still very young, long before they had come of age; but he had probably just done his best to forget about the fact, and given that the Lord Commander had mentioned something about (Y/n) informing the King that she had no intention of her brother Daemon, Criston had hoped that she might stay unmarried for a long time to come.

"Nothing is set in stone, but Viserys has been mentioning Vaemond more and more. And I knew that Coryls and Rhaenys would be happy with the match. That they believe that Vaemond would be a more suitable for me than Daemon. Viserys has even mentioned that I should go and spend some time at Driftmark, to get to know Vaemond better..............."

"Do you want Vaemond ............... Do you want his wife .............?"

"No, I don't. It isn't that he is not a good man. It is just that I find myself feeling that he is a little too ambitious. That he can be envious of his older brother. And ambition and envy can be very dangerous things. As I said, I want you, Criston. I don't care that I might never be able to call myself yours, that I may never have your children, I just don't want to be anyone else's." The princess continued, Criston pulling her back into his arms. His lips softly resting against her forehead.

He couldn't let Vaemon have her. Not now, not ever. He knew that they were family, that the Targaryens and Velaryons shared many ties, and that the commander of the Velaryon navy would probably be seen by the King, as the right choice of husband for his sister. But after what she had just said, and given his own feelings for the lady, how could he let her go. How could he, even given the oath that he had so proudly taken, allow her to wed Vaemond.

"Will you take me back to the castle, Criston? I am sure the longer that I am away, the more likely that Viserys is to feel like calling on me. Poor Ser Westerling will be forced to send out a search party for both of us." (Y/n) said softly, as she pulled away from Criston. Smiling slightly, as her guard nodded his head. The lady making her way over to Naga, kissing the huge sleepy beast on the snout before turning back to Cole. The newest Kingsguard offering the princess his arm. Criston already deciding what he would do. Already deciding that he would take up the lady's offer of learning more of her language. And that he would spend as much time with her as possible. The knight sure that the lady would come up with some way to prevent herself from being sent away from the capital and his arms. That they would find a way to stay together.
