DAY ONE

Day One – Evening

3rd PERSON POV

Everyone has finished their investigation of their respective sections of the Terror House, and now they gathered back in the living room, seated with their partners in a half circle on the living room floor.

“Okay,” Kirishima begins as he looks towards each group, “What did you all find?”

Izuku and Shoto were the first to set their things down in the middle of the half circle.

“As far as survival supplies,” Izuku starts with a small smile, “Todoroki and I found plenty of blankets and pillows.”

“As well as flashlights.” Shoto adds, placing the flashlights gently onto the pile.

Kirishima nods with a small grin, “What about you Bakubro?” He asks his friend and sends him a look.

Bakugo grunts and carelessly chucks his findings onto the pile. “Knives.” He grins wickedly before speaking again. “Also a fuck load of canned foods in the pantry – left the shitty perishable foods in the refrigerator.”

He pauses for a moment, “Oh, also found this.” He digs through his pockets and pulls out a small radio. “Could be useful for something.” He shrugs and places it on the ground besides him.

Shinso was next to add his and (Y/n)’s things to the pile, “Well, (Y/n) and I found a couple of hunting rifles, bullet cartridges, and walkie-talkies.” He sets the two rifles and their cartridges down besides Bakugo’s knives and the walkie-talkies next to the pillows.

“We also discovered a safe of some sort in the wall of the basement.” (Y/n) says to the group, “It might have something important inside, so we should add that as one of our priorities for getting out of the Terror House.”

“Spare clothing is in all the guest room closets on the second floor.” Kaminari runs a hand through his blonde locks as he speaks, “Kirishima and I also found a locked room at the end of that floor’s hall. It might be worth opening, but then again, who knows what this Terror House holds…”

Kirishima frowns to himself, “Something didn’t seem right about that locked room. Like, why is there only one room locked, huh?” He glances around at the rest of his friends, “Did anyone of you find locked rooms?”

Everyone in the group shakes their head, no.

The red head sighs, “Right. Well, now we have a locked room on the second floor and a locked safe in the basement to investigate.”

“What time is it?” (Y/n) pipes up, interested in how much time they had left.

Bakugo was the first to snap his head over to the nearby clock on the wall and answers, “Almost 11:15 p.m.”

(Y/n) nods in gratitude and then faces Kaminari, “Midnight is our deadline for figuring something out, according to that psycho TV guy, so we have about 45 minutes before we all need to gather back in the living room – that’s is, if all of us are going to sleep in same place.”

“It would be safer if we all had one central room as our base here, I think.” Izuku comments, his hands folded on his lap.

“Yes, sleeping here together would be beneficial in our present circumstance.” Shoto agrees with a small nod of his head, red and white locks falling into his eyes.

(Y/n) stands up and stretches her arms out over her head, “Alright, well that’s settled. Now, what’s the plan?”

“Well,” Shinso raises a hand slightly, capturing their attention. “To be honest, I really don’t like the vibe that’s coming from the basement. It doesn’t help that it is night as well…”

“Pussy.” Bakugo scoffs and rolls his crimson eyes.

“Well that just leaves the room on the second floor, then.” Kirishima shrugs slightly.

(Y/n) places her hands on her hips, surveying the group. “I say we split up into two teams. One team goes to investigate the room, the other stays here and guards our base.” She reaches down and grabs one of the walkie-talkies from the middle pile, “We’ll communicate using these. The team that stays at the base will call in to let us know when it’s getting close to midnight and we need to head back here. Does that sound good?”

The rest of the group consider this plan for a moment before most of them nod in agreement.

“One problem, smartass.” Bakugo narrows his eyes at the boys in the room before letting his gaze shift on (Y/n), “Who’s going to be on which fucking team?”

Quickly solving this issue before arguing could ensue, (Y/n) answers, “Kaminari, Izuku, Bakugo, and I will be one team. Shoto, Shinso and Kirishima will be the other.”

No one really objects, although glares of disgust were shared between a few people.

“Team One,” (Y/n) addresses them, “We’re going to investigate the locked room. C’mon, we need to make it back to base before midnight.”

In silent agreement, Team One gets up from the semi-circle of companions and heads towards the staircase to the second floor of the Terror House while Team Two stays in the living room and begins organizing the living arrangements into a suitable fort of sorts.

“What do you think is going to be in that room?” Izuku asks as Team One travels down the second floor hallway, obviously nervous.

“Oh I don’t know,” Bakugo starts, deciding to mess with his rival, “Hopefully some big ass spiders. Maybe some fucking snakes as well.”

Izuku visibly shivers and inches away from Bakugo. (Y/n) sighs and pats Izuku on the shoulder to comfort him. “It’s probably neither of those, to be honest.”

Team One reaches the locked room at the end of the hall, making Kaminari clear his throat. “Well. How’re we going to get this open?”

“LET’S KNOCK THIS FUCKING DOOR OFF ITS HINGES!” Katsuki suggest as his fist meets his open palm, a crazed smile on his face.

Since no one else had a better suggestion, Team One works together to bash the door down by ramming their shoulders against it. Three, four, five bashings of the door, and its hinges have barely moved.

With one last grand ramming, the wooden door is conquered; it causes a loud thud to echo throughout the hallway as it hits the floor of the previously locked room.

The walkie-talkie in (Y/n)’s pockets hisses with static of its own volition. “Team One? Come in Team One. Can you hear me?” Kirishima’s voice is slightly muffled as he speaks through the static.

(Y/n) adjusts the walkie-talkie’s signal and then answers it once it was out of her pocket, “Team Two, this is Team One. We hear you just fine.”

“We heard several loud banging noises; is everything swell?” Shoto voice was the next one to emit from the walkie-talkie.

Kaminari leans closer to (Y/n)’s communicator, “Yep, everything is fine. We busted down the locked door and are going to investigate. Over and out.”

(Y/n) turns the walkie-talkie off as she and the rest of Team One enter the room.

The entire place – the walls, the floors, even the barred windows (which was a surprise to them) – is painted to resembles a giant Ouija board.

Izuku puts his hand up in surrender and begins backing up from the room, exciting into the hallway while repeating his words, “No! No! No!” He shake his head, “No, I’m sorry guys but there is no way I’m going to be part of this. I don’t have anything to do with the afterlife.”

(Y/n) turns to face Izuku, giving him an empathetic smile. “I understand your concern, Izuku… You can go back to Team Two if you want, but make sure to take on of us with you, alright? No one should travel alone.”

Izuku lets out a soft sigh, his eyes going downcast as he crosses his arms tightly over his chest as if to protect himself, “I’ll just stay in the hallway and guard you all… but the moment one of you screams, I’ll rush in. I promise.”

(Y/n) lets out a soft chuckle but nods, “Fair enough.”

Kaminari glances around the Ouija room; he furrows his eyebrows before speaking, “Hey, guys? If this is a giant Ouija board, then where’s the giant pointer thingy?”

“You mean the planchette, dipshit?” Bakugo smirks and places his hands on his hips.

“Yeah, that thing.”

(Y/n)’s eyes land on the question mark in the middle of the board, “Odd…” She mumbles, gesturing to the symbol. “Normal Ouija boards don’t have that in their middle, do they?”

Kaminari furrows his eyebrows and shakes his head while Bakugo purses his lips. “No…”

“Hey, uh, it’s going to be midnight in a few minutes.” Izuku’s voice floats into the room from the hallway, “W-We should just leave this creepy room alone and re-join the others…”

“STOP BEING SUCH A FUCKING PUSSY, DEKU!” Bakugo shouts out to Izuku with a glare.

(Y/n) goes to scold Katsuki for being rude, but Kaminari speaks out first.

“Uh, guys! I can’t move!”

They all turn around to look at him; Kaminari is standing on the question mark on the Ouija room’s middle, as stiff as a pole. (Y/n) takes a few cautious steps towards him, being careful not to step on any of the other symbols that are seared onto the floor.

(Y/n) grabs hold of Kaminari’s hand and tugs as hard as she can, trying to free him from the question mark’s invisible hold. His body doesn’t budge.

“Oh god,” She whispers, “You’re really stuck…”

Bakugo decides to try and shove Kaminari, not believing this for a second. When Kaminari still doesn’t move an inch, Bakugo grits his teeth and backs away. “What the fuck is this shit?!”

“Guys?!” Izuku calls out from the hallway.

“W-We need to get Kaminari free!” (Y/n) exclaims, ignoring Izuku’s calling for a moment.

“HOW?!” Bakugo retorts and throws his hands up, his eyes wide.

“Uh, guys?!”

“WHAT?!” Bakugo whips around to face Izuku with a growl.

“It’s… it’s one minutes until midnight..” Izuku gulps out with a whisper.

Suddenly, Kaminari’s body is slung across the floor, completely against his own will. He rams back first into the wall, slightly hoisted into the air by some other worldly force; he gasps as the wind is knocked out of him.

(Y/n) nearly screams, but Bakugo clasps a hand over her mouth before she could.

“E…” The ash blonde starts. He points at the Ouija symbol peeking out from behind Kaminari’s back.

“What the fuck-“

Kaminari’s exclamation is interrupted as he is suddenly launched at the opposite wall, hitting the next letter face first. It’s impossible to tell if the cracking sound that follows is a dent forming the wall or Kaminari’s nose breaking from impact.

“I…”

Kaminari’s body goes from one side of the board room to the other side as indeterminable forces use his body as a human planchette.

“J...” “I…” “R…” “O…” “U…”

Kaminari’s body drops like a ragdoll onto the floor. (Y/n) rushes over to him, wanting to give him a hug, but also not wanting to put any pressure on his newly-formed injuries.

“Kaminari! Oh god!” (Y/n) could feel her face pale.

Blood is draining from his nose, and multiple bruises are beginning to appear on his upper arms and knees. He holds his head in his hands as if trying to get rid of some dizziness.

“What the fuck was that?!” Kaminari spits out his words as he stares in the direction of the question mark symbol on the floor.

“Guys…” Izuku walks into the room, a frown on his lips with wide eyes, “It’s midnight.”
