Chapter 6. Power Over Darkness

"Hecate, Dark One, hear my plea,

Bring Justice now, I ask of thee,

Avenge me now, oh Mighty One

Turn misfortune back to those

Who cause my problems and my woes.

And heap upon them karmic debt

Lest they all too soon forget

Their wrongful action, words, and deeds

Don't let them get away scot free.

Bring them forth from where they hide,

Bring swift justice ~ wield your knife.

Hasten, Dark One; hear my plea~

Do what it is I ask of Thee."

It work, a large force of magic emerged from my body and exploded. The darkness was pushed from my body and it punished the creature that cased it. It was covered in the darkest of magic that I was controlling, it was trying to get away.

"You shall not return here. I shall once more show you the power of my Goddess." My voice sounded god-like, I forced the demon far away from the school. After it was away, the dark runes left my body. "Thank you my Goddess." I whispered before my body clasped, Caspian taught me.

"Raven." He said my name, I looked up and smiled.

"Thank you for protecting me." I said snuggling against his chest, I felt him stiffen then relax.

"I'll do anything for you." He whispered before I fell asleep.

I woke up in a room with a fluffy bed I wanted to stay here forever, it felt so good. I felt something sleeping right next to me, I look over to see Corax resting next to my head. I scratched his head, he slighting moved against my hand. I smiled then remembered what happened, I slowly sat up and got out the fluffy bed. I walked towards the door, reaching for the door knob I stopped. I felt someone was behind this door and since I didn't know who or what it was I decided not to open it. I turned my back to the door and took a step.

"Do you not what me in there with you?" A male voice asked, it was Caspian. I moved over and opened it. There he was holding a tray of food. "I didn't know what you liked to eat so I just made you some tomato soup." He said I moved aside and he came in.

"That's fine really. Thank you for doing this for me." I said to him as I watched him set the tray down, his eyes went to Corax who was still sleeping on the bed.

"He seems comfortable." He said with his back turned towards me. I could feel the tension just by watching him.

"What's wrong?" I asked him, he stood back to me and sighed.

"You used dark magic didn't you?" He asked me, I stood still.

"Yes, though I was told never to do so I had no other choice." I said as I went over to the bed and scratched Corax's head. "I'm a witch, dark magic is somewhat of our thing. I didn't want to hurt anyone, I'm sorry of I did." I said looking down at my hands.

"It's not that!" He shouted turning to face me, I've never heard his raise his voice. "You endangered yourself. I saw what that stuff did to your body, you were in pain and I couldn't do anything about it but hold you close to me." He clenched his fists, he was mad at himself. I stood up and laid my head on his chest.

"Thank you for looking after me Caspian." I whispered, he put his arms around me. I felt safe in these strong arms, he made me feel safe and alive. He body heat was keeping me warm and I could tell he was smelling my hair.

"You smell nice." He whispered, I smiled.

"Well witches are known for our inscences." I said, he chuckled and released from his arms, I missed his touch.

"Well let's get you eating. You need your strength." He said placing the tray in front of me, I smiled and started eating.

"Has anything else happened since I was out?" I asked him, he scratched his head.

"Well Lora is talking to everyone that saw what happened. She's trying to figure everything out, this has never happened before in vampire history. Do you know?" He asked me.

"Yes, the demon sent a spy to watch to school but I caught its attention. So the demon came and broke my protection spell I placed on the school. That's when I used dark magic to bounce it back to it, I've done this once before." I whispered that last part, Caspian has great hearing.

"Tell me about it. I can help explain to them everything." He said, I trust him.

"When I was young and still learning about the magic in my blood. I tried to perform a spell that I knew was way out of my league. When I did I never meant to but I summon a demon, I couldn't send it back and Nana couldn't help me. I was under his control so he decided to make a deal with me, he would live in my body and give me power. In return he would slowly kill as time pass. That's why when I was Marked, it made no sense to me. I would die a lot sooner then in four years so why? Why Mark someone who will die sooner then later?" I haven't said it out loud until now, it made me more unhappy. Caspian hugged me, his touched calmed me.

"I wont let him have you. You belong here." He whispered, I softly smiled.

"Thank you." I said, knowing it was fake. There was no way I could be saved from this demon in me, he wont let anyone remove him from me. But I couldn't tell Caspian that, I didn't want to. He was special to me, for the first someone not related to me by blood was special to me. It felt nice to be in his arms, so nice.

"Raven, are you awake?" It was Lora, Caspian pulled away and walked over to the door and opened it letting her in. Logan was with her, he seemed to be very defensive when he walked in. He was concerned that I might hurt Lora, understandable. "So how are you feeling?" She asked me, I smiled.

"Much better. I'm sorry for the trouble that happened earlier." I said looking down, Lora took me hands and held them tight.

"Thanks to you, the school was saved. Yes I will be needing to know how much about magic knowledge you have but first you need to rest and recover. You've been hurt quite bad." Lora said, something in her voice was telling me something. I didn't like it, it wasn't good. She was hiding something from me and looking at Logan's body language, I had to ask.

"Who did I kill?" I asked straight out. Lora closed her mouth and stopped whatever she was saying, looking at me. "I know someone or something is dead. Tell me." I said.

"A young male student." Logan said, he looked dead. "My son." He said, that's why he looked like he wanted to kill me.

"I'm sorry Logan but I can't control the darkness without the demons help." I said looking down at my hand, I could see my dark runes were slowly showing. "He says that it wasn't my fault." I said, Caspian and Lora seemed concerned. Logan was mad.

"Not your fault! My son is dead because of your dark spell so don't give me that shit." He was really mad now. Lora held up her hand but he ignored her. "You should be punished for what you did!" He shouted coming closer, Caspian stood between him and I. "Move Caspian." Logan growled at this young student.

"I'm sorry Logan but I will not. She is innocent, the demon she spoke of is real. She told me but I don't think it was her or the demon that killed your son." Caspian was readying to fight Logan if he had too. They started aruging about it, I had enough.

"Shut up!" I shouted, Corax was awake but now he was ready to protect me. "It is not Raven's fault for your son, you mortal. Nor is it mine. The demon that attack the school knew where to look in order to find Raven so don't you dare blame her for this." The demon spoke through my body. Everyone was shocked by this even I was. He never took control over me so suddenly. "I will use my demonic powers to find the source in this school then I'll tell Raven so remain calm." He said then left. "That was intense." I was back but could still feel him near me.

"So he really can take over your body?" Caspian asked me as he came closer, holding my hand.

"Yes but this time was different. It didn't feel forceful, it felt smooth. Like I was letting him in." I explained, Lora wanted to move but stopped when Logan flinched.

"Caspian you are to stay with her. Logan we must leave and keep the students safe. Raven, if you feel any kind of danger please let me know." Lora said as she and Logan left.

"What was that all about?" Caspian asked, something was wrong. And Lora knew something.
