The phone was dialing while Nana, Maria, Lora, myself and the principal waited for the Chicago House of Night to answer. By the second ring someone picked up. I could tell it was a woman, I could also feel her magic power even through the phone.

"Hello, this is Chicago House of Night Lisa Kolan speaking." Her voice was soft yet strong.

"Hello Lisa, I have a student here at Marion High School and she has been Marked." The princibal voice sounded dead inside. 

"Well I can come down there and asset the student, may I speak with the student." She said, he handed me the phone.

"Hello." I said.

"Hello my name is Lisa and I'm in Chicago. So you have been Marked?" She asked me.

"Yes I have." I told her, she remained calm and that kept me calm.

"Well if you want I can come down there and pick you up or you can have someone bring you here. It's your choice but know that you have to be in this house in the matter of a few days." She said, my heart began picking up again. "Do you understand Raven?" She asked me.

"You know my name. How?" I asked her, I heard her chuckle a little.

"That is my power. I can hear your thoughts even through the phone. So tell me Raven, do you want me to come down there?" She asked me again. I thought about it, looking at Nana and my cousins.

"No I think my family is going to insist on taking me. They'll have many things to come with me. So I shall talk to my family and make plans to come to Chicago. Thank you for speaking with me." I thanked her, trying to keep calm. Nana held onto my right hand as I held the phone.

"Well then I shall see you soon Raven. Don't worry about anything, you'll be fine." She said before hanging up the phone. I placed the phone on the hook. The Twins looked closely at me, Nana understood what to do next.

"Mr. Jones thank you for trying to help my grand daughter Raven, we will be on our way and start to pack now." Nana said standing up, Twins and myself followed her lead.

Jones didn't say anything after that, he let us go. While in the car ride home, the Twins were asking me questions about how I felt. I told them about the burning feeling in my head and that my fever seemed to be slowly rising. When we got home it seemed that everyone of our local family members were at the house. Considering the fact that my family can feel if someones going to die soon so they go to that house, so they're all at mine now. I got out the car to find my Aunt Aline, she saw my forehead and was confused.

"Nela, why is she Marked?" Aline whispered Nana, she sighed.

"Everyone, our dear Raven has been Marked by a Vampire. She will soon be going to Chicago to the House of Night where she'll be safe. If she does not then she'll die, we do not want that. Now please help me pack some important things that she'll need to her life there. We must not let them take away her knowledge of the Goddess HEKATE and her ways. So Maria and Lora, you two help her pack clothes while the rest of us pack herbs, books, talismans, charms and amulets." Nana said and everyone understood then got to work.

After everyone was packing items, Twins were helping me pack clothes. We were quiet for most of the time, it was hard for us to speak first. I was packing my computer and music devices, I'm going to need it. 

"Hey Raven." Lora said in a low voice, it's been years since she said my name.

"Yes Lora." I said, she held her breath for a second.

"Will we still be family after you Change?" She asked me, I had my back towards her then turned to face her and Maria.

"You'll never stop being my family, even after this Change that I'll go through." I said with a serious face. Lora and Maria started to cry, we came together and hugged each other. They are two years younger then me but they'll always be my equals.

"Hey promise to stay in touch with us okay." Maria said pulling back whipping away the tears.

"Of course I will. You two are going to need fashion advice when you go on dates right. So call me up anytime." I said with a smile, we all started to laugh. After finishing the packing, everyone gathered into the dining room and we had one big supper. It was a thing we do to say good bye, they would say everything they wanted to us. Ranging from "Good Luck" too "Have Fun" then Nana told me something I wouldn't soon forget. 

"May HEKATE be with you. She'll hear you're words and give you help. Please be strong my dear little Bird." She whispered hugged me tight, I fought back the tears.

"I will Nana. Please stay up with your health." I told her and she giggled. 

"Of course my little bird." She said and everyone went home while we went to bed. I felt like I didn't want to sleep tonight and something kept me up. I heard taping on my window, I sat up and moved to open my window.

"Hello Corax." I said as my closet friend came into the room, he was a crow that I've had follow me since I was young. He has had my back through all kind of things. "I'm guessing that you know of what's happening." I said and he called, I took it as a yes. "Well maybe they'll let you come with me. I need someone to know there." I told him while scratching his head. I laid on the bed, Corax snuggled up next to me. I slowly closed my eyes and had a strange dream. I heard her.

Be strong my daughter, you fight will soon begin.
