5 | Burn

The room was filled with the obscene sound of skin hitting skin. I closed my eyes and focused on something else, just waiting for him to finish so I can leave.

I don't know who he is. I just need his money. I don't wanna give money to Devin. But he already showed me what would happen if I withheld money from him again. I told him I'd made less than I actually did, so I could keep more than I'd have to give him, but he saw through it. I ended up in the hospital.

I see now, why the others are all scared of him. The smallest things will set him off. I gave him an attitude so he decked me. He didn't like what I was wearing, so he slapped me. This man was out of control. He needs to be gone. Fast.

I felt him finish and pull out. He got off of me and handed me some cash. He left me in the shitty motel room.

I sighed and stood up. I pulled my clothes back on and left the room.

I began walking down the street, heading back to where I usually hang around.

I don't have enough money to fucking survive anymore. I barely made enough before, and now I'm making even less. I have to give him 80 percent of what I make. I can't eat. I can't afford food. At the most, I'm left with $5 a day, and that's on a good day. I save what I can, but it's not much. It's not enough.

When I got back to the alley, Devin was waiting there, leaning up against the wall. I sighed, pulling the money from my boot. I counted through it. $200. I handed it to him. He counted it and handed me a 10 back.

I put it in my pocket. He grabbed my arm and pulled me close. "You're not hiding anything from me again, are you?"

I shook my head. "No."

He smirked. "I think I should check, just to be sure, you know..."

I didn't say anything.

He flipped us around so that I was against the wall. He held me against the wall, leaning in by my ear. "Strip." He whispered, moving back a little.

I swallowed hard, looking down at the ground. I slowly began to unbutton the vest I was wearing. I dropped it on the ground, closing my eyes. I sighed and unbuttoned as well. I pushed them down along with the fishnets I was wearing. I took my boots off and stood still, keeping my eyes on the ground.

He ran his hands over sides, pushing me towards the mattress on the ground. I fell back on to it, staring up at him.

I can't wait until I kill him.

"Ricky!"

I woke up to Ash standing over me. I sat up, rubbing my eyes.

"I gotta talk to you." She said. "What happened anyway?"

I sighed and looked up at her. "What do you think happened?"

"Oh..."

I nodded. "What do you gotta talk to me about?"

"Oh! I found out who put the bounty on you."

"Who?"

"Shit, I forgot his name. You used to buy drugs from him. He picked me up yesterday tryna find you."

"Kuza?" I said. "Why would he put a bounty on me?"

"He said he just wants to talk to you and he knew that was the only way he'd be able to get you."

"Fuck." I sighed. "Did he say why he wants to talk to me?"

She shook her head.

I stood up and grabbed a pair of jeans. I pulled them on and ran my hand through my hair.

"I can try to convince Devin to calm down a little with you."

I shook my head. "No. This is my issue. I'll deal with it."

"Alright. You know where to find me if you need anything."

I nodded. She hugged me and left.

What the fuck could Kuza want to talk to me about? He probably just wants me to come back or something. I don't want to see him. It'll bring back too many memories that I need to forget.

I sat back down, not bothering to put a shirt on. I don't think I'm gonna work today. Let Devin get mad at me. I don't care. Everything already hurts. What's a little more?

I'll probably take what little money I have and go find something to eat. I haven't eaten in days.

I pulled a hoodie on and stood up. I walked out of the alley and down the street. There's a seven eleven on the corner. I'll get something there.

I want to see Chris. I miss him. I love him. I hate this shit. This is killing me. I just want my life back. I can't go back though. I gotta move on. Chris is gone.

I entered the store and walked around. I grabbed a bag of chips and a monster and I checked out.

I left the store and sat on a nearby bench. I began to eat the chips.

I want to go back. But I can't. I wanna see Kuza but I can't. I want to go back to the needle, but I can't. I vaguely remember promising Chris that I'd get clean, and I need to do that.

I'm gonna try and meet with my contact today. I'll see if he's heard anything on Oli. I still have like twenty bucks so hopefully he'll take that. Even if it's not enough, he'll usually tell me anything I want to know if I fuck him.

He usually hangs around the club on seventh. Speaking of clubs, I haven't gone by Chris's in a while. Last I heard, Andy was keeping it running. I don't know if he still is though.

I stood up and walked towards the club. It wasn't far, maybe a 10 minute walk. I headed down the street, putting my hood up.

I made my way down the alley on the left of the club. Sure enough, he was there.

"Ricky."

I nodded. "Hey."

"What can I do for ya?"

"You hear anything?"

He looked me up and down. "How much you got?"

"Twenty."

He smiled. "Gimme that and blowjob and I'll tell you what I know. It's something you probably want to hear."

"Twenty now, blow you after you tell me."

He nodded. "Deal."

I handed him the twenty and he counted through it. "Oli went to visit Chris Motionless in prison bout a week ago. Motionless attacked him. Fractured his jaw."

"Shit really? How'd you find out?"

"I have friends in very high places."

"Well, good. He deserves it."

It's good to know that Chris is okay.

Jinxx nodded. "Now, I believe you owe me something?"
