"Don't ignore me, Chris."

I didn't speak.

It's not real.

It can't be real.

It'll go away.

"I'm very much real, and I will never go away. You're stuck with me."

I put my head down, not knowing how to feel. I don't know what to do.

I'm not crazy. Am I?

I can't be crazy.

"You are."

I tuned the voice out. This isn't right. I'm not.

This is wrong. I don't like this. I want to go home. I don't know what's wrong with me. I don't know why I'm hearing this voice.

This isn't real. It's just because I'm alone. Yeah. It's because I'm in here alone with no one to talk to and I'm just hearing things.

"You can't ignore me, Chris. I'm real. I'm here. And I'm all you have for the next 10 years."

"10 years? What do you mean? Why 10 years?"

"You don't remember. You were convicted of murder. You paid the judge so you'd only get 10 years instead of the death penalty."

"That's not true. I didn't kill anyone." I whispered.

"No. You didn't. You were set up. But that doesn't matter now. Just you and me, Chris."

"No! Stop it! None of that is true...."

"Remember the way poor little Ricky cried when they sentenced you?"

"Shut up!"

"You should listen to him, Chris."

"What?"

There was a second voice. This one was quieter.

"Everything he says is true. You just don't remember because of that bitch." The second voice whispered. "You should kill her."

"Stop..." I breathed. "Go away."

"Ricky begged them to let you go free. I guarantee you he's out there right now, trying to find a way to free you."

"'That's not fucking fair. They can't kill Chris.'" The second voice said in a mocking tone.

"I'd take death over this."

"So die." The first one said. "Take your life like the coward you are."

"Instead of killing yourself, kill that doctor." The second one spoke.

"Let him kill himself. He'd be doing the world a favor."

"He didn't do anything wrong. It's the doctor that's hurting him. She's the one that deserves to die."

"He could always just do both. A fun little murder-suicide."

"Enough!" I screamed. "I'm not killing anyone..."

"Death is the only way you'll get rid of us, Chris."

"I don't wanna die."

"So you're stuck with us."

"So be it."

The door opened. The doctor came in. I squinted a little due to the light coming in from the hall.

She was holding a pen and a pad of paper.

She looked down at me. "Who is it you're talking to?"

"No one." I whispered.

She wrote something down.

"Are you hungry, Mr. Cerulli?"

Now that she mentioned it, I am. For the first time since I could remember, I'm actually hungry.

I nodded slowly.

"How do you feel?"

"Like shit."

She nodded.

"Grab the pen and stab her in the neck." The second voice hissed.

"Shut up." I growled.

"What was that?"

"Nothing." I said quickly.

She left the room, leaving the door open.

"You should've killed her." The second voice sang.

"The door is open. You should run. While you have the chance."

"No, she obviously left it open to see if he'd run." The second one said. "If he runs, they'll kill him."

"Thats the point."

Three guards entered the room, closing the door behind them. I looked up at them. What are they doing?

One of them walked over and unplugged the camera in the corner of the room.

"What-"

"Shut your mouth." One of them ordered. "Stand up."

I slowly got to my feet.

What are they doing?

Another one came up behind me, he wrapped his hand around my throat and leaned into my ear.

"You're gonna do what we say. You're gonna stay quiet and be an obedient little bitch, or we'll make sure there's more than a couple voices in your head."

"Take the gun. Kill them all. Before they kill you."

"Don't. I wanna watch this." The first one whispered. "This is gonna be good."

"Got it?"

I nodded slowly.

He pointed at one of the ones standing in front of me. "You're gonna suck him off while we watch."

"Huh?"

He punched me in the side of the head. If his hand wasn't around my throat, I would've collapsed.

"What did I tell you?" He growled. "Shut up and behave."

I swallowed hard.

"Get on the floor."

He let go of me and I slowly sunk to the floor.

"You deserve this."

I watched the man in front of me unbutton his pants.

I didn't know what to do. Do I do what they say, or refuse?

"Do it. You deserve it. Once a whore, always a whore."

"No. Just kill them. It's a lot easier than getting raped by a bunch of prison guards."

"Shut up. This is exactly what needs to happen."

"Just kill them, Chris. They all have guns. Just grab one."

If I kill them, I'll end up suffering more. I can't kill them. I have to let this happen. But I don't want to let this happen. I don't want them to do this.

I have to decide. Fast.
