To Bring Truths To Light

Mu found the two Gemini brothers in the Grand Master's office. Saga had noticed him first, nodding just a little bit. Kanonwaved him over. Mu sat down, thinking for a moment on what he wished to say. Saga spoke first.
"Shion has a doctor's appointment in three hours with the hospital in town. The one we always go to. They are aware that he was injured in an accident and what his occupation is. You need to sign some of the forms as you are his legal guardian. Any questions?" Mu reached over to sign the documents that Saga presented.
"Dohko and Shion are hiding hurts that run deeper than most and secrets darker than the shadows of our temples. Do you have an idea on what those hurts or secrets are?" Mu questioned as he signed the relevant documents and skimmed Shion's medical history. Saga locked eyes with Kanon, who shrugged.
"You know more of the dangers of appearing to have a magical gift could be seen as and treated as in the modern world. Fear drove people to cast those with cosmos away, to forget our very existence in the best cases. In the worst, death is usually inevitable. The farther back you go, the more severe the treatment of those with telekinetic powers or cosmos were treated worse. Pope Shion, himself, was tortured countless times in the name of Athena and for Sanctuary. He was almost burnt at the stake a dozen of times. Pope Sage tortured his gold Saints for anything, good or bad. The other one wasn't great either. Jamir was definitely the best option for Shion to survive until the crusade. I believe Airios knows where the files and documentation of the their treatment and abuses are located." Saga placed a phone down alongside a card linked to Sanctuary's finances close to Mu. Kanon tapped Mu's head.
"Cheer up, Mu. Give Shion some time to open up. All we can do is speculate until the two tell us what happened." Kanon tried to soothe some of Mu's worries.
For some reason, it only made Mu worry more. After all, Shion and Dohko looked between 6 and 11 years old to him. Which meant that they wouldn't be able to handle things the same way as the older versions of them could and would. Saga was speaking to him but he was having a hard time breathing. Shion had been expecting the people around him to abuse him as if it was the only thing he knew. Shion never hurt any of the Gold Saints under his protection. Shion had changed the laws of Sanctuary to the point that the very idea of a Gold Saint being beaten senseless caused fury in all of the Saints of Athena. Shion tried to make sure that he never acted in anger. Mu realized suddenly that Shion had safe guarded Sanctuary to the best of his abilities with no clue what he was doing and expecting to be tortured at every turn. Now Shion couldn't help but to cling to him as if Mu had saved him.
Kanon slapped him across the face. Mu shot his head up.
"Breathe! We've been calling out to you for the last ten minutes. Airios is bringing Shion, Dohko, and Kiki up here because Shion started to freak out. Shaka will be waiting for you along the path to town."
Mu took several grounding breaths before picking up the card and phone. Airios entered the room a few minutes later, Shion cradled in his arms followed by Dohko who was holding Kiki's hand as Kiki bawled. Mu reached for Shion while wrapping his cosmo around the three children. Shion and Dohko weren't adults anymore, they were children. Children that had been forced to grow up far too early and sacrificed for others to feel loved and treasured. It was time that they were treated like children also. Airios passed Shion over, watching the way that Mu sat and rocked Shion while running a hand through his hair. Kiki was still bawling, burying his face into Mu's side. Dohko looked spooked also.
"What happened, Dohko?" Airios asked, adding his warm Cosmo to the mix. Dohko shrugged, trying to remember what set off the chain of events. Airios placed a hand on Dohko's head, squatting to look him in the eye.
"We won't be mad, I promise. Saga and I will make sure that the policies that Shion changed for the better are upheld by all of Sanctuary. Do you trust us to take care of you two?" A timid nod. "Did something remind you two about what occurred under Grand Master Sage?" Another timid nod. "Was it something the silver Saints said?" Dohko stiffened, paling just the smallest amount. "Did they try to do anything before I showed up?" A jerky nod. "Did they try to hurt you?" Airios was watching Dohko carefully. Hesitation was written all across the little Libra's face.
Obviously something those silver Saints said or did caused Dohko to loose his shit. Kiki had been standing protectively between the Silver Saints and the little Gold Saints. Shion had been screaming as he tried to shrink even more than the tiny ball he had wrapped himself into. Dohko had been on the ground also, a red mark on his face that could now be made out to be a handprint. There was a small chunk of Dohko's hair in the Silver Saint's hand. He had been walking back from the Archives along with Airia when he had heard Shion's screaming. Shion had immediately stopped screaming when he had scooped the Aries Saint up, holding onto him as if Airios was going to throw him away. Airia had arrived only a few moments later, telling the Silver Saints to wait in the throne room, where Airios and Saga would listen to their side of the story after the children calmed down.
"Hey, hey. It's alright. See, we're not mad. We are just worried. I remember this time in my training where my teacher didn't hesitate to hurt me. I was so scared to tell the Grand Master but I didn't really have to. Shion just knew what had happened. He showed me all these laws that protected me from such treatment that he had made after he was Grandmaster. It was reassuring to know that he didn't blame me for what happened." Airios was speaking softly, ruffling Dohko's hair. "So, could you please let me help you?" Dohko nodded twice. Airios ruffled Dohko's hair again. Kanon picked Dohko up, chuckling at Dohko's yelp of surprise.
"You and Saga go deal with them. Dohko and I'll walk Mu and his munchkins to where Shaka is waiting to walk with them to Shion's appointment." Airios merely nodded as he stood, smiling just a tiny bit to calm Dohko down as Saga also stood up with a passive face. Saga's voice was bored as he asked the question that Airios couldn't bring himself to ask.
"Dohko, what did they say to make you both of you scared?" Kiki piped in before Dohko could consider his answer.
"Something about being bed warmers and useless for anything else and how no one would help them because they had failed sanctuary twice." Dohko buried his face his face in Kanon's neck, scared of what they would do now that the other Saints knew that they were worthless. Saga sighed.
"They also attacked the two of you, correct?" Dohko nodded.
"Do you know that they have broken a few laws by doing so?" Airios stated calmly. Dohko looked up, shocked while shaking his head. The shock made the four adult Saints sad because the picture was clearer now. The two Saints who ran sanctuary as the Grandmasters left to deal with the three Silver Saints.
